  • Cheating/binging.......whatever you want to call it is a good way to curve cravings as well as keep your metabolism on track. I usually do one binge meal a week and work out extra hard to compensate. I would tack everything you eat though, that way you can see what you did and how hard you need to work to make up for it.
  • Agreed.........

  • I tend to work out extra hard on a weekend day (binge day) and reward myself with a large meal instead of just eating unhealthy all day. I usually reward myself once a week with a big meal (chicken wings) on the weekend after an extremely hard workout. Binging is not a terrible thing as long as you stick to healthy eating…
  • I agree water is a huge part of a persons diet...........it helps flush the body. I usually drink around 12-15 cups a day.
  • Cutting carbs will help slightly, but a decent daily amount of carbs is good for the body and gives it energy. Personally I would monitor your Sodium. Sodium maintains water weight and keeps excess fat storage the body does not expend in daily activities. I usually try to eat more Protein than Carbs...........
  • The activity level constitutes the "working out" for the credit of walking.
  • Drink water all day even when you're hungry......helps the appetite
  • I would say active if your standing all day. Wouldnt go as far as to say very active.
  • Agree 100%...........this is correct to maintain weight, you dont have to eat all your exercise calories back if your trying to lose. Dont read to far into the number, MFP does everything for you.
  • This gets a Blue Ribbon for this topic..............
  • I saw an article on here the other day......... A woman said if her stomach is growling and she desires a certain food or beverage she waits 20-30 minutes and if she still wants it then she consumes it. You shouldnt deny yourself if your train of though cant get it off your mind. But most of the time, she says, after 20-30…
  • Tell your fiance to hide it from you..............lol
  • I have a desk job all day and reading stories and recipes and throwing my 2 cents in is what keeps me motivated. And I actually have facebook up while im on here too.....lol. Technology has taken over our lives.
  • I agree with all ^^^ eat slightly less calories than you are now and try to work out more. Eventually you will find the right mix of both to continue your weight loss and get off that plateau. Fasting may work for instant gratification but will come back to haunt you in the end. You need to level your body out and eat…
  • I weigh myself daily (sometimes in the morning, afternoon, and before sleep). This way I can see what I eat through out the day fluctuates my weight. And good point, dont get discoraged when the scale jumps 2-3 pounds here and there. My weekend weight is usually 221-218 and my week weight is 216-213. This is obviously…
  • I would not consider it an exercise.......instead under settings change daily activity to "very active". This in itself will show you that you burn more calories daily than someone else that has a desk job (sitting down all day).
  • I'm with you on that, I like sleeping in as long as possible and am a bit of a night owl. From a personal experience I like working out in the mid to late afternoon after I get off work. Most morning people who work out ^^^ have to becuase it fits their schedule better, not becuase they want to wake up extra early. And I…
  • The only way to lose weight in the midsection and legs is to run, do lunges, squats, and eat healthy. You dont have to work out for hours, 30 minutes a day and eating healthy will do the trick.
  • Drinking alot of water is a good idea and will help flush "this weekend" out of your system. Honestly you could reach your preivous weight loss in a week or two depending on how much you work for it. Eating healthier and working out an extra 5 minutes a day can help. Also, dont get discouraged because even people who lose…

  • Dropping carbs may or may not help you lose weight but its worth a try, just make sure your not drowzy or tired throughout the day. Health is more important than image (alot of people forget that).
  • Cardio helps the overall body but if your looking for a quick fix and summer is fast approaching, I would do exercises solely working on those areas. Obliques aka Love Handles can be exercised in a variety of ways. Look up exercises on the internet. As far as toning your butt butt (lol) I would bust out some squats. Squats…
  • Eating the Doritos will not fulfill your hunger but more so your taste and craving for them. I say eat them and work out extra hard afterward if you feel guilty. You have to splurge every now and then when trying to lose weight. I have a splurge meal/few snacks once a week to reward myself for dieting and exercising…
  • Which is worse Calories/Carbs..........depends on how you want to structure your body. Either way, you definately dont want over 2,000 calories no matter how hard you work out if your trying to lose weight/tone up. Carbs can be good and bad. They obvisously give you energy but on the other hand your body only needs so much…
  • Toning (working out/strength building) burns calories, unfortunately MFP does not have this structured into your overall calorie intake. Similar to what Erick said, slowly add 100-200 calories a week and by still working out and toning you will shred those extra calories off.
  • I agree with the sugar craving........anytime I eat candy to give me an energy boost I should have though otherwise because sugar opens the door for unhealthy eating/snacking.
  • Everyone needs a splurge meal.........try to hold off on that craving and eat a "bad meal" once a week. It will help with the cravings and also set your metabolism on the right track.
  • Sodium acts as a barrier and keeps fluids in your body for longer periods of time, in comparison to low sodium intake. Basically the more sodium you put in your body, the longer it takes for your body to rid of it. Sodium is not terrible for you, and dont get the image that you'll blow up like a blimp but it does put on…

  • Eat a breakfast/nutrition bar........you can get your protein and it wont be filling while you work out. Feeling light headed is never fun early in the morning when you have the whole day ahead of you. I would also suggest chugging a cup of water as soon as you roll out of bed (whether you eat or dont eat before the…
  • Start small and work your way up. Make a weekly goal to either: lose a pound, workout every other day, give up an unhealthy food you desire, or all three!!! After the first week set another goal for a week/month and strive to complete that. Reward yourself with something other than food after exceeding your goal(s).
