Awesome! This starts 9/1 or now?

Looking forward to it! FYI, I am Carrie :)

If anyone is looking for a teammate, I would like in on this, please. :) Pretty please? :)

I love my YMCA. Can't get enough of the place or the people there!

I have a droid and love it. Haven't paid for one app yet!

Chika, I am just about your height and my goal is to maintain between 140 and 150. I don't think it is realistic for me to be below 140. It just isn't my body type and let's face it, I am getting older and I can't have the body I had in junior high. I also am in much better shape now than I was then and I think that is…

I am signed up for my first Spartan Sprint at the end of August. I am super excited about it, so I am curious as to what responses you get here as well. Are you signed up?

Exactly what this says! I did my first 5k through the Y at the beginning of the month. My biggest mistake was getting caught up in the excitement. I took off strong and completed my first mile in 9:12 (this up from my typical 11 min/mile). Then as I got to mile 3 I was wiped! LOL! But I did walk during the last mile and…

I enjoy spinning classes. They are hard but as with any exercise they are only as hard and challenging as you make it. You can control the tension on the bikes and that is what makes it harder or easier.

I like the Chocolate Crunch Quaker rice cakes and Oikos Chocolate Greek yogurt. The yogurt tastes like mousse!
-
Have you tried Skinnygirl? 100 calorie margaritas!
-
Oikos Chocolate Greek yogurt. Tastes just like chocolate mousse!

Great job; you look fantastic! I started at 195 too and hit 177 today :) We are on the same path!

I prefer the gym because I can mix it up and won't get bored. Although the prices you are listing sound insanely high. Maybe you can negotiate and see if they will cut down or waive the joining fee? Never hurts to ask!

Hi there! I am from North Attleboro. Welcome, neighbor :)

That is true, the fiber and protein goals are very low. No worries if you go over in either category. I do many times and have never had a bad result.

I have my HRM running for the entire class, beginning to end. I didn't even think about turning it off before then! LOL! I will be interested in seeing what the other responses are to this question!

I take Body Pump which is part of the Les Mills program and it wasn't listed either. I ended up wearing a heart monitor to the class to see what my calories burned was. Wear one if you have one or see if you can borrow one for the class :) Enjoy!

I have a trainer and he is AMAZING! I wouldn't trade the time I have with him for anything. He pushes me emotionally and physically and I have seen huge changes in myself in just a few short weeks. If you have the funds, I HIGHLY recommend it! But, make sure you ask around, get recommendations, talk to him or her before…

I look for all around goodness which includes calories, fat, protein, and ingredients. I try and avoid HFCS and foods that have too many ingredients that I can't identify or say the name (LOL!).

You need to start slowly and build the strength in your upper body. Start by doing pushups on the wall. If you can do that easily, move to the stairs. The lower the stair you use, the harder it will be. Once you have mastered the stairs, move to modified on the floor, then unmodified on the floor. It takes time, diligence…

I have recently started eating Greek yogurt. I find that it is very smooth, however, I think it is very thick. It was hard for me to get used to that. The consistency reminded me of sour cream. Very good though!

Thanks for your suggestion!

Those look more like balance disks to me (unless I am seeing something different). I am looking for more of a large bouncy half ball. LOL!
-
Me too! It;s awesome :) LOL!

I just purchased a few VERY supportive bras from Lady Grace.

A foam roller looks like a stocky, very sturdy, pool noodle. You can find them many places, but I got mine at a sporting goods store.

I was told that you can do one of two things: 1. Select your activity level without considering exercise and manually add the exercise as you do it OR 2. Select the activity level considering your exercise and do not manually add the exercise you do.

I am doing my first on May 7th. I just got the race route today so I plan on getting off the treadmill and hitting the pavement this week. I, too, am also looking for advice! Good luck to everyone running their races!

Oh, and another piece of advice, even though this probably goes against EVERYTHING your body and mind are telling you...... get right up front in front of the instructor. You will learn so much better watching him/her than you will following others in the class.
