Eating 1200 calories is necessary for some people to lose weight. Its a scientific fact that weight loss comes from a calorie deficit which is calculated according to ones height. Therefore, "eating clean" is not going to do anything for your weight if you are still in a calorie surplus. All the advice you gave above is…

I agree with you! I often see people on these forums talking about forcing themselves to eat more if they are under their goal and I dont get it. I mean yes you should aim for your calorie goal but if you happen to be under it, why not see that as a bonus? I do it all the time and it also allows me to eat more on other…

I used to always diet in the past and fall off the wagon, but this year for the first time losing weight by counting calories has become a way of life. Maybe in just lucky to not have a big appetite but I honestly see counting cals as an everyday habit and usually I'm able to stay under my goal. If i go over, i dont see it…

Yes. There are people who will try tell you different but do not listen to them.
-
thats the difference between calorie counting and being on a 'diet plan'- with calorie counting you can't really ever 'fall off the wagon' because there are no food restrictions. eat within your range and if you go over, make up for it the next day.

I'm 5"2 and right now I'm 55kg which is the lowest I've been in years. I'm comfortable at this weight but my ultimate goal weight is 50kg.

Any programme which involves cutting out certain foods or food groups isnt going to work long term. Its calories in calories out regardless of the food

I honestly didnt realise how different I looked until I came across this embarrassing pic on the left kn my boyfriends phone. It's from a year ago. No gimmick dieting involved, just calorie counting and portion control
-
No dieting, no cutting out specific foods, and no exercise. Just good old calorie counting and portion control

I love that analogy. You dont need a 'plan' to lose weight. You dont need to be told what to eat and then feel like a failure when you eat something which isnt on your 'plan'. Weight loss is basic math and you can eat whatever you want as long as it fits into your calories. Yesterday I had tuna and provita for lunch while…

If you eat out with your husband, just factor that food in after you have it. Have your beer but try not to go crazy and stuff your face. Then log as accurately as you can and it will probably mean just eating less later that day. It may still result in going over your calorie goal but at least it wont be disastrous 😊 we…

Lol. Eating more than one slice of cake is never going to end well unless its the only thing you eat the entire day

My routine is i have a cup of tea at around 9:30 am and my first meal is at 12. I save most of my calories for night time because that's when I like to eat most and this has helped me keep my calories in check and lose weight
-
The only macro I sometimes think about is protein. I try to choose foodoptions which at least contain some of it. Other than that, I couldn't care less
-
Sounds like my worst nightmare but good luck with that :D
-
Oops wrong thread but still

A small bag of chocolate peanuts had 470 cals!!! I only logged it after I ate it so I pretty much had to have lettuce for supper 😂
-
My stats are basically the same as yours regarding height and weight goals and I also lose on average 1kg per month. It may seem slow but less than a year later I'm 10kg down 🙂 just keep going

Dont weight yourself more than once a week. It's not a true reflection on fat loss
-
Calorie counters don't usually need cheat days because we dont deprive ourselves like people who go on a 'diet'. But if you feel you need one then you should just go like 500 cals over your deficit and then get back on track like normal. Dont see it as a day to totally pig out because then you might undo your progress

If they cause rashes it's your body's way of reacting negatively so you know not to have those foods anymore. If your body reacts same way to keto then it means dont do it
-
Because they're misinformed
-
Sorry but how healthy can keto be when it causes rashes on people? I'm even more against it now

I think if losing weight at a slower rate will mean you feel satisfied with the amount you eat then it's worth it, but if you have days where you eat 1200 and lose faster then I dont see the harm. My weight is similar to yours and I usually switch between 1200 and 1400. Dont worry too much about the exercise because the…

Nothing you would just carry on losing weight.. probably faster. Personally I would only eat them back if I'm actually hungry, not just for the sake of it
-
I believed that weight loss was about clean eating and I love food too much for that. Then I discovered MFP and weight loss became a way of life
-
Fair enough, but look at it this way: if someone told you that to lose weight you could either have 2000 cals a day of limited food groups with restrictions OR you can eat 2000 calories of anything you like, which would you choose? I find it hard to understand why anyone would pick the first option, but I suppose if its…

You'll see results but just like with any ther fad, you won't maintain it. Just count calories, regardless of the food and you'll see results which you can maintain.

I saw a post on a facebook community group earlier, where a mother was complaining that Sprite is now 'lower sugar' and therefore has aspartame in it. She was angry that her kids were now unknowingly drinking aspartame and she would rather they drink sugar. SIGH
