  • Dudes, and dudess' Thanks for your replies. Many of you seem presuppose that I wanted to know what the health benefits of exercise is, and assumed I needed convincing that exercise is a good thing. I actually exercise a lot, who wouldn't with the coming Zombi apocalypse? (I also enjoy it). My question was more theoretical,…
  • Sorry that's just not true. I track all my calories and I'm not eating less just because I'm eating less carbs. I have replaced the carbs with protein, calorie for calorie. The deficit only, 'this Is science' is too simplistic. 'Science' depends on which scientists you consult and all real science is evolving and not in a…
  • My advice is have some filling low carb stuff around that's nice, and allow for it in your calorie allowance. Wheyhey protein ice cream saves my life regularly. Also, a really nice tasting chocolate whey protein drink. I use PHD diet Belgian chocolate. Filling and delicious.

  • Hi If your not seeing the weight loss predicted by these calculations, I presume the problem is: 1. RMR is actually slower for your age than the average / standard 2. Calorie intake is higher than it should be 3. Calorie out is lower than it should be Could there be any other reasons? Thanks
  • BW x 14 seems a bit simplistic as it doesn't account for age. As far as I can see, your metabolic rate gets slower as you get older and so you need less calories.
