I'm 26 and I have an open diary!

I'm getting back into it! I had to stop for 10 days because of a mild calf strain that coincided with a trip to San Francisco. I tried to keep up with low impact exercises, like recumbent bike and upper body training, but eventually had to stop everything for a week so I wouldn't re-injure myself. :( I felt depressed…

I want to still be here! I pulled my calf muscle during a jumping jack (went a little overboard with weighted calf raises...), so I'm trying to do low impact cardio and upper body weight training for a few days...
-
Sounds good, would you be mixing in additional workouts?
-
I'm thinking about starting that next too! I tried to add in "Shred with Weights" with a kettleball but I don't think I'm getting the form right...
-
I live on the top floor too! I try to do all my jumping on the mat... I actually had to substitute one of the moves on Level 2 (skaters?) because I don't have enough room to jump from side to side!

I'm a little ahead of this group, but I just finished day 15 (5 of Level 2), and I was convinced that nothing changed in the mirror. I took my measurements regardless and readied myself for disappointment. But it looks like I've lost an inch around my waist! 3/19/2014 >> 4/11/2014 waist: 27" >> 26" hips: 33" >> 32" neck:…

I'm Asian, so probably! However, the occasional pizza doesn't kill me. Haha

Yes! That's amazing! I accidentally created a new thread in the same vein, but the 30DS has totally changed my attitude about myself and my capabilities.

Hi! I'm on Day 7 of Level 1, so glad to see everyone in together. : ) I'm 26, 5'4" and currently 117 lbs (from 124). I gained almost 20 lbs last year from medication + quitting cigarettes. I've only worn elastic waists for the past 9 months! Hopefully I can lose an inch off my waist + hips to fit into my old…

Do you not recommend the weight machines? I'm still in a (free) YMCA training program, so far they've only taught me half of the machines. I haven't learned any lower body machines yet--probably will this Thursday. So far this is what I do: V-Bar Chin Up, Neutral Grip, Palms In Front Chin Up, Close-Grip, Palms Back Bar…

Thank you! I calculated my BMR according to Jax's link. It's 1346.80. I'm going to try the TDEE method instead of net calories for now, since I have the tendency to cheat. If I end up eating around 1800-2000 calories, I'll add "walking" to cardiovascular exercise at the end of the night. Now I'll have to hold…

Awesome, thank you for your help again!

^^^^ You're AWESOME.

A lot of my friends are male, I work with all men, and I hope to god NONE of them think of me in a sexual way. Then again, I'm the kind of girl who immediately writes off anyone who hits on me. Don't approach me at a bar! My boyfriend is smart, sensitive, handsome, talented, and a gentleman when it comes to women. And by…

I just started the 30 day shred! Not sure where you are in strength, but I still struggle with a push up. I think it's kind of fun, although my boyfriend likes to tease me. Look forward to trying No More Trouble Zones, too!

5'4" girl here! I was 108 lbs, size 0/2 all my life until last year, when I hit 124 lbs. But I was always a "skinny fat" size 0/2. Now I'm trying to gain some muscle and burn fat.

Thank you everyone!! I think I'll up my calories to 1600/day for strength training. I'm going to research Starting Strength and New Rules of Lifting for Women now. Off the bat, would this be a good regime: 2 days weight training/2 days cardio (sprinting) per week? How long should each session be? Let me know if I should…

Definitely interested in learning more about lifting! My next appointment with the trainer is in two weeks. Do you think the 30-day shred would improve my strength even by a little in the meantime? At this point I don't think I can even do a push-up... Also, thank you for the calories tip, Stef!

Looking differently is definitely more important to me than a number. I don't want to sabotage my metabolism with an extreme diet, either. I tried shoulder press today and was struggling with 10lbs. Pretty sad... So I'll start the 30-day shred after I get some 3lb weights.
-
I'm starting tomorrow morning, after my boyfriend picks up 3 lb weights for me (ha!). He was shocked that dumbbells could be that small.

Has anyone ever lost weight without dieting?
