  • Thanks for your suggestions. Unfortunately we live way out in the country, and my mother won't be able to go to a gym every day. The physiotherapist has a nice recumbent exercise bike that Mom uses while she is there, but that's a professional one, designed for physiotherapists - not one we can buy ourselves.
  • My mother is in the hospital. Has been since Mar 11. Surgery in 4 weeks. Will remain another 4 to 6 weeks after that. (min) I just discovered that there is a walking route through the hospital that is 1/3 km. It goes through the part of the hospital that is just offices. If I pushed my mother in her wheel chair for a 1 km…
  • Thanks everyone. I found something I can do. Wheelchair pushing… I discovered that the hospital has a walking route that goes through all the offices and "non-patient" parts of the hospital. It's measured at being 1/3 of a km if you follow it. There are clearly marked signs. It's for staff who want to keep fit (it's even…
  • Int_haelent That's a great idea
  • Thanks kar328. I'll look into it.
  • Thanks everybody who posted. It all sounds good, and yesterday I really did think I would start today, but now…. I'm undecided.
  • Thanks for your input. FortWilderness I'll ask about ordering hospital food. Robola there isn't any grocery stores, but that was a good idea. Ready2Rock206 buying a cooler and packing it with food is a good idea. I'll add those things to my grocery list right now.
  • Thank you everybody. I'll give it a try for one week. If at the end of that week I feel better, than I'll continue. If not then I won't. Thanks so much for your input and telling me how exercise relieves your stress. Right now I'm anything for relieving stress.
  • Thank you everybody
  • See a doctor or psychologist to help you with your anxiety. Once the panic attacks go away, other things will get better.
  • Thank you for all that answered my original question. Buying a treadmill can be daunting. I will check out the website that was suggested. The temperature is -40 C today, and the temperatures will most likely stay in the -30's to -40's until the end of February. It's like this almost every winter, except for the nice year…
  • Yah I've done it. A month of so ago I decided to cut out cheezies. I love them but they have no nuturional value and have around 2000 calories a bag. I've been craving them for a week now. Yesterday I bought a huge bag, and ate half of it while watching my favourite show. I've decided that I will allow myself to have…
  • Thank you very everybody who said I could do it. Njbelle you're right. It doesn't really matter when I lose it. GryphonHall good point - TV is different than reality. I didn't realize that people on those shows gained it all back. I'll have to look into that myself. Babe_Klwer your right I do have to remember to put in…
  • Thanks. 84 lbs would put me at 135 lbs, the same weight I was when I was in university.
