I tried for years to get along with my mother-in-law who was abusive toward almost everyone she ever knew. She could be very sweet but would also turn on you for no reason in the middle of a conversation. From sweet to scary in ten seconds. I've never been to a funeral where no one cried, but that's how hers was. I asked…

Welcome! Sorry about your job. I can see how that would be a setback, but you can get back on track. My only advice is, start small and with something you can keep doing next week, next month, next year. Whether that's 15 minute walk everyday, or remaking one meal into something very filling and satisfying, and more…

Thank you for sharing. You look fantastic, but most important, you're proof that sticking with it works in the end! Great job!

US here...I'd like to lose 20 lbs by Christmas. Then another 40 by next summer. (Have kept over 30+ for the past 3 years).

Congratulations, great job! It must have taken a lot of discipline to accomplish what you've done so far! Keep going!

Luna chocolate peppermint bar. Mmmm!

You could go to the health and fitness Olympics with that accomplishment! Amazing!

Hmmm. Aside from the other petty annoyances, I can safely say that the rule governing adults touching children is not due to people being offended, but by children being abused by adults. It's sad, but a few rotten apples caused the rules to be implemented. And, ethical adults in positions of authority understand this and…

Great job! You look a little like Fergie in some of your "After" photos! Congratulations, well done.

Call me anything you want, just don't call me late for dinner.

Fierce is right! Amazing! Congratulations!

Welcome. I think the key is to persevere, even when you don't feel like it. Even if you have a plateau for a few days, weeks, or months. You'll get there. Best wishes!

It's an old Weight Watchers move...ruin the food so you don't eat it. It's not considered ED in WW meetings. (I don't go to WW but that's a whole discussion).

This advice doesn't work for women who tend to build muscle easily in their legs. Women are more likely to benefit from Pilates or yoga if they build muscle easily.

Not wearing ratty clothing is just the bare minimum for walking out the door into civilization. Even if you could wear whatever you want to work, it's better in the long-term to wear neutral, professional clothing. You're taken more seriously that way. Covering your shoulders falls into this category. I've never worked…

Neither. But I think our country has a violence problem, and we need to do something. Fast.

But the problem is you don't know who specifically will be the person who costs so much money. You're looking at the aggregate, not individuals. So you cannot know with certainty that the individual in front of you is one of "those people." But a bigger question is, why does our healthcare system use a disease model and…

I've seen this same thread before. It's all hypothetical and what's the point really. We all know there's a bias against weight. Some of it is cultural, some of it evolutionary. But I'm not sure I see the point of this topic on this board. So people can reveal their painful stories?

Welcome! Congratulations on your success so far! That's really a great loss in such a short period of time.

You can cook it in a covered dish or Dutch oven, which holds in the moisture. Also, a chicken breast with bone and skin will be a little tastier. You can take off the skin after cooking if you don't want the fat. I also buy the highest quality chicken possible, depending on my budget. I love Bell & Evans. The quality makes…

Can you spare a square?

I've done the same thing. You can either make a rule for yourself that you won't eat past 7 pm. Or you can surrender to the impulse, but control it. If you know you like to eat at night, then plan for it. Pick something you love, but decide to have only one serving, or whatever fits in your calorie budget. I like airpopped…

I would try a week of logging every bite you eat, everything. Then open your diary and ask for observations about what you're eating. And as someone else wrote, fluctuations are normal, so it may be that your weight will be down in a few days.

Just saw this topic. Great idea! Week 2 July 9, Goal is 180: Mon: Tues: Wed: Thurs: 15 minute walk Fri: Sat: 80 minute walk, brisk pace (most of it) Sun: 90 minute bicycle (outdoors, some hills) Total/Minutes: 185

Well, that one works!

Congratulations! That's a lot of weight loss, and really quick!
