  • I drink three 24 ounce bottles with Crystal light in it every day (Only one packet, though, which is aimed at 16 ounces, so it's watered down.) I was drinking a ton of diet soda before that. I'm losing weight, and when I'm doing things like a long workout I drink plain water but I love my watered down crystal light. Is it…
  • Exactly. I know what my goal date is at 1.5# per week, but I also know that I tend to lose 5-6 pounds, hold steady for a few weeks, then lose another 5-6 really fast. So it might even out that way, it might not, but as long as you're TRENDING down, you're fine.
  • After being frustrated about it for a long time, I asked my husband-at-the-time why he was always making insulting comments to me about women who were about my size being fat, when he'd never complained about the weight I'd put on. His response? "Well, I find you attractive because I love you, but I'd never START dating…
  • Losing 3 pounds a week is more for people who are extremely overweight. Even at about 80 pounds overweight I struggle to lose 2 pounds a week while still eating enough to sustain my body. I have been losing about 1.5# a week. You are probably not eating enough, and thus your body isn't letting go of your fat stores.
  • With a child that age I wouldn't think "diet" really, but just making sure they're more active - lots of opportunity for running around, playing outside, etc. If they are drinking soda, cut that out (they shouldn't be anyway), watch juices, etc. Heck, DD16 just lost 8 pounds without noticing because DH and I are eating…
  • Yes. I had a breast reduction from a 40H/I to a 38C (had lipo done on the "side fat" which made my band size go down, as well) and I looked like I'd lost 20 pounds when all I did was find my torso.
  • I just had my first TOM sine I started tracking on MFP, and it was acutally amazing to watch. I track every day, and if you look at my chart in the "Progress" section, right before my TOM my weight goes up, up, up - I put about 3 pounds on. Afterwards, I lost those 3 plus one more. So there's this little "bump" on my chart…
  • I will definitely still track once I'm in maintenance. I got fat by not paying attention to what I eat, I don't want to do it again!
  • A friend who lost 100+ pounds says she has to roll hers up to put them in her bra. ;)

  • I weigh daily and log it on MFP because I like the little graph. Only Thursdays "count", though.
  • This question comes up a lot. MFP does not include exercise in with the calories it sets for you. So if you want to lose a pound a week, it knocks 500 calories off your "maintenance" weight so that you lose a pound a week. If you exercise, you are burning more than that, and you might be eating too few calories to support…
  • A friend of mine swears by bike shorts under skirts for the chafing issue.
  • I like the Healthy Choice ones the best. I think the steamers and the steamer bowl ones are much bigger, and still low in calories - the one I have today is the beef Merlot and it's only 210 calories. I could have something else with lunch (a salad, some fruit, etc) and still stay under 400 calories, easily. They are high…
  • The 2# a week is for people who are obese. If you only have 15-20 pounds to lose you really need to set a realistic goal of 1# per week. 2# a week is a LOT when you're already smaller.
  • Weigh in today at 211.4. Not quite to my March 31st goal, but still trending downwards.
  • I'm so sorry for your loss. Hang in there.
  • Myself, a friend and my 16 year old are going to that concert, too. I last saw them in concert at Joe Louis in ... 1991? Somewhere around there. I'm really excited for all the nostalgia :)
  • Crappy week, food and exercise-wise. I told myself I was going to work out, and then I didn't. I got spoiled iwth the nice weather we were having - I was able to walk outside like four or five days in a row, and then it got cold and wet again and I didn't get back to my indoor workouts. Still, I'm down 2/10 of a pound…
  • I'm so sorry about your accident! I hope everyone's okay and you're back on your feet again soon!
  • I don't consider any day a cheat day, but only because I consider this a lifetime thing, not a diet. So if I want to go out to eat and have a restaurant meal, I do. I just make sure to not go over my maintenance calories for the day, and I don't worry about it. I couldn't let myself have a free-for all, but hitting 1900…
  • I had a bread reduction PRE weight loss because my 40I breasts were just too big to exercise in any sort of way. My surgeon said that I shouldn't see any sagging or problems unless I lose 50 lbs or more, since she removed most of the fat from my breasts and what's left is breast tissue. I'm planning on losing about 50-60…
  • Little bump up on the scale today to 213.2, but it's only a pound and I think it's from having a hamburger and fries last night (I stayed within my calories, so I'm sure it's sodium.) Not going to lose too much sleep over it and my "official" weigh in day isn't until Thursday. Lots of water until then!
  • Congrats to everyone on their 5ks. I'm hoping to start training for one this year but I want to get down a bit, weight-wise, first. I ended up caving and having a cheeseburger and a handful of fries from Five Guys yesterday. Getting ready for my TOM and I was craving a cheeseburger SO BAD. But back on track today - one…
  • WW doesn't count fruits and veggies, but I believe they upped the points values of OTHER foods, so it kinda cancels it out. If you're calorie counting, you can't not count them. My apple today, even after I cut it up, was 240 grams, which was something like 120 calories. Two of those a day is 240.
  • The sodium in that McDonald's is going to affect the scale more than going 500 calories over. Drink a bunch of water and relax. Even 500 calories over for a day probably only brings you to your maintenance calorie level.
  • Wow, huge difference! Great job!
  • I'm at 212.2. I haven't been under 200 since sometime in 1999 or 2000. I'm aiming to get there by the end of April, though. I found this group looking for exactly that - a support group for people closing in on that number!
  • Today was my weigh in. Another loss! 3/03/2011 - 216 3/10/2011 - 214 3/17/2011 - 212.2 3/24/2011 - 3/31/2011 - Total of 3.8 lost so far in March. Yay! I didn't work out as much as usual in the last 7 days, so I was really surprised to see my loss was as big as it was - I would have been happy with a pound!
  • I call mine my "lap flap" which makes my husband laugh. He loves my body, no matter what it looks like, though. :) I had a pooch even when I was thin, and now that I've gained like 80 pounds since high school it's utterly disgusting. I'm hoping to at least get it under control when I lose 40-50 pounds. I doubt it'll ever…
  • I cooked up some boneless skinless chicken with a ton of yellow onion and some salsa in a pan (with cooking spray, not oil!) and then made some rice (white, but eh, it's what I had) and I am STUFFED.
