  • 1) It does seem low, but it depends on what you're doing. Yoga and Pilates doesn't exactly elevate your heart. 2) Yep. Your just burnt calories, your body wants to replace them. Hunger is normal after exercise. The best way I've found to alleviate is to increase your protein and fat intake while reducing your Carbs. Save…
  • Clicked the article link and within 30 seconds I knew exactly what the article was about. Selling books. Think of it this way: The word "toning" is a marketing term. It is quite simply the idea of: How can I achieve the results I want without actually putting the effort in? The OP /WILL NOT EVER/ bulk up unless she starts…
  • This.
  • OP, ignore the flame posts. The answer to your question is True. Body fat comes reduces as well as gains *uniformly*. The common phrase: "That will go strait to my thighs." is misleading and completely incorrect. Also, your ability to easily gain muscle mass is likely due to your genetics and of course, higher testosterone…
  • Lose body fat. Drop your Carb intake to around 30g per day, and pump up your Protein and Fat. Lift heavy, and if you do cardio: keep your heart rate in the fat burning zone for your age, don't go higher.
  • How recent are those pictures on your profile? If I were to guess you'd be in the high 20's to low 30's... What method did he use?
  • Guys, post your pics. The internet needs them! ;]
  • When you're not sleeping? Time of day has nothing to do with it.
  • it's a long story, but yeah. 11 other guys in my class. The three above me were all body builders, which is odd since I'm in men's physique, not bodybuilding. :p
  • Needs more women V. ;) Ladies; grab your cameras!
  • If you can do knee-push ups all day, but not a single standard pushup, you're likely doing something very wrong. Watch/Read: http://www.builtlean.com/2011/02/23/how-to-proper-push-up-form/ And no, Push up's are primarily a triceps and chest exercise, pull ups are focused on back and biceps.
  • A rep range means /nothing/ unless the weight on the bar is correct. Low reps 8-10 should be high weight. Higher reps 12-16 should be lighter weight. If you want to gain *muscle* use the lower rep range with heavy weights. 8-10 reps should be your MAX you can push. If you can do more reps - add more weight.
  • Yeah, I think I'm just in a grumpy mood and not giving this video a chance. I'm gonna pause for now, and come back to it in a few hours once my headache clears so I can be more objective. :)
  • I've just started watching, but so far ... I have a feeling I'm going to get irritated quickly. Pisses me right off. Of COURSE it would! Taking someone who is completely unhealthy and having them do /anything/ would have fantastic results. This is hardly ground-breaking or a new idea. :grumble:

  • Heyoh! Dave - Washington State. Also, why the lack of dudes in this thread? Am I in the wrong area? edit: Yes. Yes I am.

  • I'm single... Let the fun begin!
  • I think about how my sculpture, which I'm putting all this effort into making perfect, is possibly slipping from my grasp...
  • Haha! Sorry, but you made me giggle IRL! And yeah, I googled it. Looks like it is: http://www.websters-online-dictionary.org/definitions/Cardiovascularly :drinker:
  • ... I don't know where you got this nonsense, but it sounds like rubbish. It appears to be some obscure way to get some form of a BMI. And - as we all know - BMI is a HORRIBLE reference for anything other than returning a useless number. If you want to get a rough estimate of your body fat on a low budget, find a friend…
  • Use a HRM and log it as high intensity training?
  • You cannot 'target' fat loss. Body fat comes off uniformly - just like it is put on. You have the right idea though, weight training with a bit of cardio will reduce body fat, but your diet plays a huge part as well. Read: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/berardi12.htm
  • As I'm sure it's stated above, you can easily get the abs in that first pic so long as you have the correct diet and LIFT weights. *DO NOT DO CARDIO!* You're lean enough. Increase your weight training, and train your abs using weights to increase the muscle belly in your abdominals. You already have the figure, you just…
  • Everyone in the world is in a constant state of transformation. Even trainers; as they may not have the time due to clients, or are simply burnt out of the gym and all the time they spend there. I, however, would not listen to any advice they give - whether it's diet or fitness related. Would I still do the class? Sure.
  • I've done it twice. It's most certainly worth your money so long as you put in the effort!
  • Haha! I believe it!
  • I don't mean to come off shallow or anything of that nature by my "angle" post earlier. But angle pics are essentially using camera angles to get the "perfect" shot, and only using them on your profile. I get that everyone is trying to 'sell themselves' but it's just a shocker when the person you meet is NOT what they have…
  • I've used OkCupid and POF in the recent past. And if I could make one simple request: Do not upload angle pics! I've fallen victim to it three times now, and it's incredibly frustrating. Be honest and open and really specify exactly what you're looking for to get the best results.
  • Roses are tits. Violets are tits. I like tits. tits.
  • Don't worry about it hon, any guy that will not offer helpful criticism when he see's something wrong at the gym (especially if it's dangerous) and laugh about it instead is a douche. Keep on keepin on!
