^ This. Do full body/compound lifts. Look up a program like starting strength or stronglifts 5x5. You're new to lifting so you will see better gains from full body rather than the isolations that make up your plan.

I just ordered one from groupon (they have the advantage for $95 with shipping and the 3 mo subscription). So, I have nothing to add to this thread; I just wanted to let people know about the deal.

OP (to get this back on track) there are several good programs. I recommend starting strength (startingstrength.com has the info there along with excellent videos and articles), stronglifts 5x5, or New Rules of Lifting For Women. I read NROLFW and it has a lot of good info but the program just felt too complicated for me.…

Agreed. Although I've been lifting since September, I've started seeing a huge change in the last month or so. I do 3x5-8 heavy compound lifts, no cardio (because I don't like it). My avi is from mid January to now (about 6 weeks). I've been eating a couple hundred below maintenance and I've only lost about 2 lbs.…

Love both those combos. Except I use whole wheat bread so it's way healthier. I also love pb and cinnamon sugar sandwiches (or potato chips, or honey). Not mine but the only way my daughter eats pb sandwiches is dipped in ranch. I actually tried it because I thought she may have discovered something delicious. She…

I just starting making my bed about a month ago. The reason? I let my kids eat on it and I was sick of laying in cracker crumbs (even worse, listening to my husband b*tch about it). Feeling like a slob now since I don't actually clean the crumbs up. :frown:

stronglifts.com. It's free.

Agreed. I use protein a couple times a week at the most. I use cytosport because I can get a giant bag at costco super cheap.

I'm not following any plan. I do compounds (squats, bench, shoulder press, rows, straight legged deadlifts, lat pulldown) 3 times/wk for 3 sets of 4-8. I did read NROLFW, but decided the program wasn't for me. I'll probably do stronglifts once I start to stall on lifts but I'm still progressing for now. Check out…

"You're my boy Blue!" Old School "All right meow. Hand over your license and registration." Super Troopers- actually that whole scene

Best advice I ever got: The best a man will treat you is while you're dating. He's trying to impress you and win you over. If he's not treating you so great (and even if he is), it will be worse after you get married. As far as snooping, my husband and I have each others passwords for everything and normally stay logged in…

Mcdouble has better macros.

I know this is all in fun but I really don't have any issues at my gym. The guys normally just nod at me when we pass each other since we're all focused on our workouts and ourselves. Not to say we don't raise our eyebrows and smirk at each other if someone is being ridiculous (a woman doing a catwalk turn in front of the…

So much truth! Op, don't wait. Go to startingstrength.com. Lots of articles and videos there. Also, check out below. A non competition pic of Ava Cowan (figure competitor). I think a lot of women would be ok looking like this.

Ok, this isn't quite an alfredo sauce I make but it's close. I cut boneless, skinless chicken breasts into little chunks. I cook it in a nonstick pan (no oil needed). There should be some water left in the pan when the chicken is nearly cooked through, otherwise add a little. Throw 2-4 wedges (dependent on how much chicken…

Listen to this man! Also, for weight loss it doesn't matter if you eat clean or not. Everyone follows the laws of thermodynamics. Your calories in must be less than your calories out. I lose weight (and, even more importantly, body fat) and I eat ice cream and candy. In moderation. As long as you use common sense when you…

I've done all 3 of your options and now that I've fallen in love with lifting heavy, I could never give up my gym. Insanity really is more cardio than strength. P90X definitely has the strength component but I didn't have the equipment to lift heavy enough (I can do a lot more with barbell squats than dumbbell). Also, both…

Nope, my husband outweighs me by more than 50 lbs. The only time I ever got close to his weight was when I was pregnant with our first. Learned my lesson and ate a healthier amount the second time around.

I agree but they still need to be more than just under the patella.
