I agree. Sadly the lower figure is usually the right one if you're not sure :(.
-
Have you changed your laundry detergent? It could be that as well. That is a lot of polyester though.
-
I agree; Polar ones are good, and you need to get one with a chest strap. I've never heard of a HRM that won't let you input your weight (as well as other factors such as age, height and gender). Can you link to it?

If you mean 'iykwim', it's 'if you know what I mean'. It's almost impossible to answer the original question as so much depends on bowel movements, whether you've just had a big glass of water, etc.
-
Ah, ok. That's discussed endlessly here. The short answer is that if you're very overweight you probably don't need to eat all of your exercise calories (but should eat some), but if you're near goal or quite thin to start with then you should eat most or all of them.
-
That's different though. Why are you confused by that? 1200 + 650 = 1850.

It doesn't tell you off if exercising takes you below 1200 net calories, just if you eat fewer than 1200 calories. I've noticed it myself and thought it was a mistake. For example if I eat 1145 kcal and do no exercise it tells me off for not eating enough. If I eat 1500 kcal but burn off 400 kcal from exercising (i.e. I…

Good point. I have sachets of low calorie hot chocolate ('Options') and it's surprisingly nice when you want something sweet. Only about 35kcal, so much less than a bar of chocolate, too.
-
No, that should be fine. Alternatively do some exercise to earn it!
-
Not me! The minute that number drops, I log it quick-smart.
-
Well done. We could all use the inspiration!
-
Actually, I think the same would happen to me so I might give them a miss!
-
Found some (in rather bright colours!) for much less already (£13). And while I'm asking complete strangers about their underwear , are the boy shorts from the same range any good?
-
Thanks; I'll keep an eye out. They sound like just the thing.
-
Thanks! It's so hard to believe that the weight will drop eventually.
-
I've just Googled these to see if we can get them in the UK, as they sound like just what I'm after, but they're £24 per pair! That's about $30ish. Is that right?
-
I broke mine today! It does happen.
-
What's that got to do with it?
-
Ah; these can be WAY out. I use a heart-rate monitor to track mine. Is that an option? I know they can be expensive.
-
I don't think you're eating enough, especially on days on which you exercise. (How accurate are your exercise calories, by the way?) Also, you're not logging every day so it's not possible to tell if you're taking days off, etc.
-
I'd go for the tortilla (frittata), and there's usually a dish involving chickpeas (garbanzo beans in American) and spinach. If you can link us to the menu we can help more!

Congratulations! I'm on a plateau myself, and it's so easy to get discouraged. I'm trying to shake things up a bit; no alcohol, exercise more, even eat more in the hope that *something* will work. When you're going through it, it's hard to believe it will end!
-
Your 'friend' sounds really threatened by you. Your diet is obviously working!
-
I find it really annoying as typically my weight is at its lowest the day before my period, but for a few days after it's over, I carry an extra 4-6lbs. This means that for about 10 days at a time I just can't face weighing myself!
-
Great tip, thanks!
-
I wish there were an option here to see things in stones, as that's what I'm used to. And don't get me started on kg!
-
It does improve over time, and drinking water can help a bit (but not as much as some people say), but I'm pretty much always low-level hungry. It's worse at the beginning of any diet. Choosing the right foods will really help (wholegrains, leafy vegetables, things that are digested slowly). I sympathise though; it sucks!…

I do, because you have to have a life, don't you? I know I won't stick to 1200 calories a day for the foreseeable future unless I know there's some wiggle room on special occasions, etc. I tend to do one spike day a week. The stupid thing is that I feel a bit sick when it comes to filling in my diary on here afterwards. I…

I have 6 unsalted almonds, or a sachet of hot chocolate for 34 calories. Sometimes a small chunk of cheese (about an inch cubed).

Even at my thinnest a couple of years ago (approx 8 stone/112lbs), I still hated my thighs because they were (in my opinion) disproportionately big on me compared to my top half. This time round I'm trying to be more accepting of my body shape. I will never be a straight up-and-down shape with slender thighs, and I can…
