I was only cooking for myself yesterday so was lazy. Not really a proper meal but had roasted cauliflower sprinkled with grated mature cheddar.

Put them in the freezer until they're solid then throw them at people who suggest you make lemonade.

If you're post viral there is nothing you can do except follow your body's lead and rest when it tells you to. I had that awful cold/flu thing over Christmas and it took a few weeks to feel 100% again. I think we tend to underestimate the strain an illness can put on the body and expect to bounce back but we can't always…

Are you drinking enough fluids? Sometimes the brain tells us we're hungry when we're actually thirsty.

I love sugar in all its forms and totally understand where you're coming from. I try to avoid having sweet things in the house. I used to buy Magnums for my stepson every weekend but of course I ate them too so now I buy him plain chocolate because he likes it and I don't. I also changed my breakfast. Instead of cornflakes…

I usually have 50g (uncooked weight) rice unless I've added tons of beans and veg to my curry. Then I reduce the rice.

I'm like that too. If I don't eat I dont feel hungry but it's not the way to go long term. I sometimes skip breakfast but make sure I eat lunch and an evening meal and ensure my calorie count doesn't drop too low.

I eat the same thing for breakfast and always have a salad for lunch but vary the protein. I ring the changes with our evening meal but it tends to be from a limited number of choices because I'm a limited/lazy cook.

Thanks everyone. I used to think that PE teachers were a different species as most seemed to be sadists. I think/hope things have changed these days. My stepson (11) told me that they are split into ability sets in PE at his school and the intensity of the activities are linked to the ability of the child. Assessment is…

Thank everyone. I appreciate your advice.

Hi. I've been a MFP member on and off for years. I've lost many battles with my weight but I haven't yet lost the war because I'm back to try again. Now it's getting more urgent. Health issues are beginning to raise their heads. So here I am. Looking for and hoping to offer support as we all struggle with the extra dieting…

Sarcasm is unnecessary. The acid in the Diet Coke attacks the tooth enamel and gums. Bacteria don't know or care if your drink is sweetened with sugar or an artificial sweetening substance. Either way the bacteria will happily take advantage of the weakness in teeth and gums. Given a nice cavity or gap in the gums that…

I gave up Diet Coke about 9 months ago. I was drinking 6 or more cans a day. The withdrawal symptoms were terrible but I ploughed through and it was worth it. Diet coke may not affect your weight loss but it certainly affects your teeth. The bacteria in your mouth can't tell the difference between sugar and sweetners and…

When I sweat I tell myself it's the fat crying because it's not going to be there much longer. I also watch TV on my tablet.

I fidget constantly. My feet and toes are curling as I type. My husband says I even fidget when asleep. I've never thought of it as a flaw. A little annoying at times when I need to sit still but not a flaw.

Depends what country you're in. If you're in the UK talk to your GP or midwife. They'll be able to advise you.

My eldest daughter struggles to maintain her weight and eats a healthy diet with the occasional treat. My youngest daughter has hollow legs and is perpetually hungry. She eats three good meals a day and fills up in between with crisps, sweets, croissants, pain au chocolat.....in fact anything she can lay her hands on apart…

To be able to walk up ten flights of stairs. Atm can only do 2 flights so do at least 5 sets of 2 throughout the day but I really want to be able to do them in one go.
-
That's a fantastic achievement. Well done :D :D

Are you following a meal plan that leaves you hungry or doesn't allow for treats?
-
If you don't want to eat the cake then hide bits of it inside the rubbish each day and people will assume you've eaten it.

You have my sympathy. It's very hard to diet when there is so much food in the house. Do you have to do Keto? If you opt for healthy eating and calorie counting you can have some of the other foods without feeling you've blown your diet and becoming disheartened. My doctor's advice was deny yourself nothing but think about…

Don't give up. This is a setback but not the end. Can you walk without too much pain? If so, why not do the 10K steps a day. Anything to help you keep active and less bored.

If you can also see a dentist as the stomach acid damages your teeth and it's better to catch it sooner rather than later.

I've been in your situation including the bulimia. You need to see a doctor and sort that out first. It will be virtually impossible to eat healthily because your body will be so out of sync it will be craving everything.....hence the binge eating. Your body will be so run down that exercise (if you can even do it) will…

It's natural to feel so low when you worked so hard and it seems to have hit a wall through no fault of your own . Has your GP given you any idea how long the acute gout attack will last? My husband had an attack last year and the pain/swelling started to improve after the first week of treatment and he was back to normal…

Thanks to both of you for replying. I'll persevere because it's not an injury just the muscle complaining because I've made it work for a change lol. I'll have a look online for a beginners full body workout.

I have agoraphobia so can't get out as much as other people but I find the Leslie Sansone walking exercises on YouTube useful.

PE teachers were total sadists. I swear mine enjoyed humiliating me as if I deserved to be punished for being overweight and therefore useless at sport. In the end you take on board their views and believe what they say and feel you deserve the way they make you feel.

Checking back in. Been absent for a few weeks due to mh but now back a sort of motivated.
