Thank you. I'm up to 55lbs now. Feeling pleased with myself.

You don't need a mask. Simply keep at least 2m away from other people.

CV does indeed = Covid19. I've only had a mild attack. Yesterday I had a massive pizza. Today I feel a lot better and don't even fancy unhealthy foods. It must have been the bug.

Thanks everyone. Still working at it and still losing weight.

Things have settled down and I'm back to my normal high anxiety state rather than the stratspheric one I was in a few days. Got back to eating properly yesterday and feel much better physically for it. It's amazing how eating too much of some foods can make you feel.

I've been very stressed out by a variety of things over the last few days so of course food became my comforter. I tried really hard to binge on 'healthier' things but it didn't work out the way I thought it would. All I'll say is eating half a kilo of grapes in a matter of minutes turned out not to be such a good idea the…

I am terribly annoying. My husband is a saint. Nothing to do with dieting though. :D

My husband is Type II. At the moment it's under control with diet only. The advice we received was to avoid processed sugars, reduce bread, potato, rice and pasta intake and eat more pulses. Sounded daunting but actually it wasn't that difficult. I add chickpeas to the chicken when I make a Korma and then only have a token…

Is your child open to trying new foods? If so, why not cook the same for the children as you do for yourself.
-
Oh no that's a terrible problem. It's hard enough without being surrounded by wonderful food.

I struggle to eat the amounts MFP says I should. Rather than look at calories, I check my protein intake. If that's OK and I know I've eaten a balanced day with plenty of fruit and veg then I don't panic about it. If I'm way under I might have some nuts or such like.

I'm the same as you. Started and restarted. The thing is never to give up. We only lose the war when we give up fighting. Good luck.

It's because we try so hard to hide our weight. No one wants to admit to all and sundry that they weigh far more than they should (in my case three times as much) so when we lose weight it becomes a quandry. If we say we've lost xlbs and they can see that we still have a long way to go, we worry that they'll begin to work…

Thanks

Fantastic. Well done.

Hi. It's a lovely, supportive community to belong to.

I know what you mean about being in public. It can be very daunting. I know this isn't gym related but last summer I was sitting in a tree (as you do when you're 60) looking down and people walking by. At first I thought they were criticising me but then I realised that most of them wished that they had the guts to climb…

She needs to see a doctor. Itching can be anything from dry skin to an indication of a serious condition. The only way to know for sure is to see a professional.

Do you like chickpeas? They're a good meat alternative and very filling. I use them with butternut squash to make a sort of korma type curry. There are lots of recipes online for them.

Gyms can be very unhealthy places. Not everyone has good hygiene practices so you have to be even more careful with your own. Antibacterial gel and wipes a good place to start. There is nothing wrong with wiping the handgrips on a piece of equipment before you use it. After all you don't know who was on it before you…

I've started and restarted so many times I've lost count but the way I see it I only lose the battle if I stop trying. This time (touch wood) I'm doing OK. The support here is amazing and definitely helps me.

With so many health problems, you're doing really well not to let it get you down. You don't need to be able to cook fancy foods. Basic cooking will let you make all the meals you need.
-
It can be very difficult if you have a picking habit. Can you leave yourself a couple of hundred calories for an evening snack?
-
You need to get your blood checked in case you need your meds increasing. My husband has thryoid problems and, although at a slightly slower rate, is successfully losing weight.
-
Thanks everyone. I compared photos from last year and today. I can see that I've lost weight and it feels brilliant.

At least you know that the gain isn't due to falling off the wagon. I'm afraid it's going to be a case of taking it on the chin and starting again. At least you're not itching anymore. I have eczema and know how dire it can be. Are you taking any anti histamines?

It's so hard when something like that happens. Are you still on the steroids?
