You're a woman. Biologically, it's near impossible for you to "get bulky." Not only do we lack the testosterone, we also lack the testosterone receptors that would enable our muscles to look like a man's. It's also healthier overall for women to incorporate some sort of weight training to keep our bones stronger. As we…

That never happens to me - I eat all day long. But if I do have that much I eat a pop tart or chocolate.

Running isn't the reason people lose weight, it's the eating less food part where people lose weight. If you have bad knees, just walk.
-
Sorry, there's nothing good I can say about smoking or dipping, esp dipping. For gods sake just stop it. It's a disgusting habit that will lead to half your jaw rotting off. Ugh. You can't possibly be too concerned about your health and physical appearance and then continue to do something like that.
-
Good luck to you. I'm planning on doing a half marathon in November 2017 and I'm taking 10 whole months to train for it. I can't imagine training to run 26 miles in 3 months.
-
Yeah they make fun of you until you actually lose that weight, then they're jealous of you. You can't win. Shake it off.
-
It's very likely this is related to alcohol withdrawals. Alcohol is basically a depressant and if your brain and nerves have been chronically depressed for four months then, yeah, this is probably why.
-
I eat whatever I want, weighed and logged.
-
Yep. Log everything. Weigh everything. I weigh the 2 tablespoons of sugar for my morning coffee. Once it's in your diary, it's not so much of a time suck, and yeah, it's a pain in the *kitten* when you're starting. But over the long haul, all that charting adds up.

Just eat food. You don't have to eat classic stereotypical "breakfast" foods. Eat a left over pork chop or a banana with some peanut butter or whatever.
-
It wasn't fatty food, it was eating too much. You eat too much of anything and you'll get fat.
-
Five days out of the rest of your life is not going to break you. :) Enjoy it.
-
If you're having this response to everything, chances are it's not the food, it's something else like a digestive disorder. You really do need to try to see a doctor. Only a doctor can get a handle on what's going on.

Why does Santa's handwriting look exactly like mom's handwriting??
-
I would say I hope you're still around because I noticed your last log in was Dec. 22. For MFP to be effective, you have to do this every day. I hope to see you here again soon after the holidays are over maybe?
-
I wouldn't. Look, I'm pragmatic. I am not a morning person and I'm old enough now to know that will never change. So there's no point in me making some lofty resolution that I know I won't maintain. If you want change to stick you need to be realistic with yourself. And if that means admitting that you really just aren't…

It doesn't work because you're eating too much. Cut calories - that's all you need to do to lose weight.
-
So I probably missed it but did the OP ever say for sure whether she uses a food scale to weigh and measure food intake?
-
I probably wouldn't, but that's just me. It's not that I hold grudges, I just realize that people move on in relationships, and it's sometimes not worthing hanging around.
-
You have to want to do this. Then you just have to do it faithfully every day. It's like brushing your teeth or showering. You just do it.
-
I do often because there are times I need to step outside myself and figure out what and how to makes some changes. How - for me the most effective way has been to lightly partake in some medicinal green. Just enough to alter consciousness but not enough to raid the fridge. Sometimes I just need to see it from a different…

Not enough information to tell... How well did you know each other? If not very well, some people just find it easier to disappear rather than be honest. I'm not saying it's right, but that's what they do. If you knew each other well, one of two things - something may have happened to them, or they are a coward.
-
Yeah. Not all wives are like this. And if you married one who is, you either weren't paying attention when you were dating or you overlooked it. Because selfish behavior doesn't magically show up overnight.
-
How often do you eat with them? Every day? Once in a while? If it's every day, you may want to make your own meals. If it's once in a while, big deal. Just eat what they fix. One meal out of the rest of your life will not derail you.
-
You don't have to go to the gym to lose weight. You just need to eat less (in a moderate calorie deficit).
-
Aren't you the one who was recently fussing over 2 pounds and weighing yourself at 2 in the morning?
-
As far as the mammograms, I would have to go back and check the updated guidelines, but if I remember correctly, it's changed to something like you start at age 40 and get your baseline. If you have a strong family history of breast cancer (mother, grandmother) then you have a screening every year. If you do NOT have a…

The sad fact of life is that we're all going to die of something. Not to be a Debbie Downer but you can't live your life in fear. You just do the best you can and try to stay as healthy as possible. That means being aware of your family history and getting regular screenings and checkups. I have a family history of colon…

Because there is a much higher chance of survival rate and successful treatment if some cancers are caught early. Very likely the reason these people you know passed away from cancer because it was caught way too late. That's why you do screenings. To catch things early. So if they find something... that means you begin…

*Sigh* I meant trying to force your body into something that is unnatural for your specific body type. Dieting until you have no body fat to achieve a look. Forget it, I'm wrong. I'll just shut my mouth from now on. Carry on.
