Yes. This is the one thing that I've seen happen all too often. It infuriates me that you would just leave someone after you've lost weight. Your spouse(significant other) was with you all that time you were over weight, and supported you during your weight loss and now you think you're too good for them and dump their…

That's great news!!! You should be very proud! Can't wait to get there myself. Have been hovering around 205 for over a month now. I need to get the ball rolling again! Just the motivation I need!

I find a protein drink is great for breakfast. I'm usually not hungry in the morning either, but know its important to fuel the body. Slim Fast and Special K are both tasty options

Hi . . I'm nearly 6 foot as well. I started at 250, now at 205, going towards 160-180. I won't know how far down to go until I get there. But all the different calculations put me in this range. My definite goal is 180. I will then drop from there until I feel comfortable . . and maybe I'll be comfortable at 180. Good luck…

I've lost over 40 lbs so far. I had been on 2 - 1000mg Metformin and 10 mg Actos per day. I am now down to 1 - 500 mg Metformin and still with the 10 mg Actos. My A1C has improved dramatically, as well as my cholesterol!! I hope to be off that medicine soon as well! Eating healthy coupled with weight loss has a definite…

Congratulations!! Way to hang in there and keep it up to get there!! I've been hovering at 205-208 for about a month now. I seem to be stuck and so very frustrated. I hope to see one-derland soon myself!!

Welcome Erin!! I hope you success and this MFP community is the absolute best for support and help! When I started, I wasn't sure if I could trust myselft to make good choices, let alone portion control. I knew I would do better with a daily menu of what to eat. I found "The Shred Diet" by Dr Ian Smith very helpful to me.…

Went to the Dr for 3 month check up. My cholestrol is very low, so he halved that medication, and also took down half a pill on one of my diabetes medications! (Already have been taken down 1/2 a few months ago) I'm hoping that the next 3 month check up, he will take me completely off the cholesterol pill!! Not sure about…

You can't expect to eat 700 calories for the rest of your life. You have to learn to eat in moderation to maintain weight after you've lost it or you will gain it all right back. Eating 1200-1500 calories with exercise during the day, you should achieve 1-2 lbs loss a week. Choosing the right foods, you'll be amazed at the…

I've added "fruit in its own juice" and the juice to sweeten and add flavor. It keeps me full for quite a while.

I go very slowly when I run.

I'm 50 and I started this 2 weeks ago. I've never been a runner and also have a bad knee (i bought a brace and wear it). I haven't been able to run each full 60 sec for the entire 30 minutes. I can do the first 2 full 60 seconds, but can't keep that pace up for all of the 30 minutes. I've decided to continue to do Week 1…

I have bouts of low blood sugar as well, most of which were frequent before I was diagnosed with Type II diabetes. Its hard not to start immediately grabbing sugary things. I have found that my drops are usually a result of adreline kicking in, which quickly depletes any sugar stores I may have. Like on the weekend if I've…

I plan on making good choices with what we are having. Keeping portion control in check, I think that is my key. And make sure I get a lot of exercise in that day!!

I would love to cut down or eliminate diabetic medications as well as improve my knees and hips which, due to osteoarthritis, are giving me a hard time too early in life. Feel free to send a friend request as I'd…

Hi all, I'm CJ, age 50 and new to the site. I've been trying to lose weight since June of this year. I've lost 25 pounds so far, and have 60 pounds to go. I jsut started MFP a few weeks ago and love it. I started with the Shred Revoltion Diet back in June which changed the way I eat and view food and calories. I haven't…

I try really hard to eat enough calories a day. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. If I get busy with work, I forget to eat and I'm not just gonna stuff myself with calories for the sake of getting over the daily calorie count (which for me is 1750). I did the Shred Diet and learned to eat several small meals during the…

I'm 6' with a medium-large frame and my ideal weight is to be between 165 - 185. I'm aiming afor at least 185 and will go down from there until I'm comfortable. I don't think I'm going to make it below 170, I have a feeling anything less that that will be too skinny.

I did the Shred Diet and it was fantastic. Normal everyday foods, you are eating small amounts all day long. Exercise fluctuates between 30 - 45 min a day/ 5 days week. I would definately recommend this. The book is about10 dollars. I lost 20 pounds in the first 6 weeks, not to mention several inches. I've continued the…
