Hello! I am 31 y/o - born and raised WA! Grew up in the MLT/Lynnwood area (Graduated from Meadowdale - last of the Chiefs, 2001!) Living in Arlington with two beautiful babies and a loving husband (who graduated from Edmonds Woodway). I hope to connect with some neighboring MFP's to help support me as I begin my Gastric…

^Exactly! MFP is great for tracking, etc. - but using the auto set up for you isn't always the best. It's too generic. Not that its a bad "place to start" if you're new to this ... but TDEE/BMR is the way to go! I like that MFP has the flexibility that you can change the calories/%'s of your daily goals!

It is supposed to be higher than what you're used to, but keep in mind that this includes if you "work out", etc. As a nursing mom, I go by my TDEE then minus out a small % for my working out (I have high hopes to work out 4-5 times a week, but I have a toddler and an infant ... I need to be realistic). Then I add some…

I concur ... why surgery if he can on his own? Surgery should be an ABSOLUTE last resort. And even then, it's a major surgery and not one to be taken lightly. I say keep doing what you're doing, you'll lose the weight <3

First off, huge congrats for taking the right steps in making a healthier life for yourself! Remember, to celebrate your successes! Second, A lot of good points have been made so far ... so I'll summarize :-) 1 - No magic pills out there. Only thing I recommend using is vitamins, like B-Vitamin Supplement. Fish Oil. A…

Hello fellow Mama's! I have a (almost) 5 month old healthy baby boy, and a gorgeous (almost) 2 year old daughter! It sounds funny, but this 2nd time around the weight has been easier to lose than the first time. I credit the fact that I am nursing (my daughter and I were not successful at it), and I was aware of how hard…

Yeah I agree - this is a great use! I use protein powder already in my pancake mix and oatmeal ... I love all these new uses I'm finding for Protein Mix!

I am in the 208's - same boat as you! Ready to see the 100's again :-D

I am in the same boat as you, too! I say pants are the way to go ... it's been 4 months since my little boy came into the world, and I'm still dealing with it. I imagine I will for a few more months until I lose the weight and the skin tightens back up!

Ha, Ha - I'm such a dork! I found the group :-) For those with the same question ... here is the New Year, New You Group Link: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/10184-new-year-new-you-2013-challenge

I bought a double stroller (that converts between four wheels - or into a jogging stroller, 3 wheels). Life SAVER! Totally agree to look into a jogging stroller - you don't have to spend an arm and a leg, either! Craigslist!

I'm a busy parent here, too! We were blessed with our little man in September ... and our daughter (at the time) was 19 months. So currently I have a 3 month old, and a 22 month old. I know, I'm crazy! I am currently playing the role of "SAHM", however telecommute into work 15 hours a week ... and I'm starting to go back…

I don't know if you have used it or not yet, but whenever I'm in a playlist rut (aka my playlist is a little dull for me), I channel the power of Pandora! Type in an artist, and let it pump out some tunes for you. I have found this to be successful (for working out) with the artist "Basshunter". Maybe typing in Daft Punk…

I love this idea! But I am a little new to the community boards here on MFP ... so I also have the question of how do we post a picture here? Thanks for the help!

Great websites - thanks for sharing!

I'm so proud of you! You're going to rock it in that wedding dress  One of my goals is to be a morning work out person too ... but until the baby slows it down on the teething, I think that goal is going to be on the back burner. At least I'm getting in 5-6 days of working out

Oh that's a great idea! I'm also going to be short for calories tonight, so you've just inspired me to try something like this later! Thanks!
