  • Will join you bestie :)
  • I get more from the elliptical than running too. Although I can't run outside because my head freezes in the wind. Would love to know whether there's any advantage or superiority for either.
  • Good on you for Joining Eamonn! You can get to your goal without a problem. Just keep at it :) best of luck!
  • OH MY GOD WOOOW!!! Way to go!!!!! well done! :D Sounds amazzzzing.. I think I might do the 30 DS next.. I need a change of routine. You're my inspiration :)
  • Thanks :) I'm definitely going to try this now. Hope this'll be my NSV in a few weeks too :) thanks for the inspiration! :)
  • So jealous!! Super NSV. I tried to start running - couldnt earlier as I had a hole in my heart when I was a kid so I had ****ty stamina. Did you do a programme (e.g. couch25k) or did you just 'go for it' :) thanks for the advice
  • Your post made me smile :) in a totally good way. I'm going through the same thing too. I've been on this now for about 2 months regularly, and I've been trying to get my bum off to exercise for the last 6 months. And it's been slow going to say the least. I was a size 8 at my slimmest! And my goal is to get back to that.…
  • I was on the pill for about a year or so. I put on weight with it. And I noticed a weight drop slightly when I stopped. But it wasn't major. It was mainly through water retention. I was told by my doc that if a certain brand makes you put on weight, or you feel it's restricting your weight loss, then you can switch to…
  • I wasn't sure about this either which is why I'm now considering getting a HRM.
  • These might sound strange, but they work. Eat slowly. One spoon at a time. When you put a mouthful in, put your spoon down, and don't prep the next bite till you're finished eating the first one. Drink water before you eat, and during. You'll get full faster, even though it's food you love :) Enjoy!!! Don't be so strict…
  • My friends in London are going to Capoeira classes and are loving them!! I just began some research myself. Maybe this link'll help: http://thecapoeirablog.wordpress.com/2007/08/13/why-should-you-learn-capoeira/
  • 60 pounds!!!! WOWW!!! Keep going!! Don't get complacent. Change your exercise routine. And if nothing else works, take up a dance class *if you like dancing*. Do something fun to bring the joy back :) Good luck!
  • I asked the same Question today - it's supposed to be non-scale victory apparently!! :) How much that's true, I don't know. but its a good thing is all i've figured :)
  • Thank you all! I'm going to get myself checked out, but I do think it's to do with the smoking. I used to feel pain when I walked up a flight of stairs before - atleast that's much improved! :) Onwards and upwards :)
  • :) It gets worse when I want to make the pain go away and I feel that i can't. You're right. I should just give it time. I heard it takes 10-12 months for circulation to improve after quitting smoking. Thanks Denise :)
  • Thanks Marshall! You've described pretty much how I feel - physically and mentally. It's often a struggle to keep going past those 10 toxic minutes. After that I have a really good time.
  • well I spend an average of 90mins a day in the gym. I'm following an exercise plan I found on bodybuilding.com and it says 3 days of weight workout and 2 days of pure cardi (40mins each). I always end up doing abs at the end, and some form of free weight for the arms. With work everyday, I only get about 1.5hours a day to…
  • HOW do you burn 1000 cals a day?!?! Can you please give me an example workout Ellie?
  • They're all just jealous :) Feels good doesn't it?? :)
  • We all have ask. It's non-scale victory. [/quote] I would NEVER have known!! Thanks!
  • well done!!!! Sounds GREAT!!! :) And it's amazing to go shopping isn't it? Really opens your eyes to the 'new' you. BTW, know it sounds like a rookie Q, but what is an "NSV"??
  • Don't do that. Don't try them. They DO NOT work! My aunt's tried every form of diet pill there is, and she's only gotten bigger when she quit them. They made her depressed, and she didn't stop eating. In fact she ate more. There's no way around it - don't diet, just start with a small workout that you like. As an example,…
  • Sounds weird, but if you brush your teeth, you won't want to eat sweets. Works for me :)
  • If you're just starting out, don't fret. You get bigger before you get smaller. Your fat converts to muscle which is heavier. As long as you're feeling more toned you're fine. If not, then maybe you're eating wrong or eating too little.
  • Hello! Welcome! and Congratulations! :) It's hard to imagine, but once you start losing it, there's only one way to go.. :). Have fun! Plenty of super helpful people around!
  • Hey Jude, I've done a calendar for myself and my boyfriend's done the same. We're following our own individual routines, but at the end of each day we mark what we did on our calendar. It's not laminated :) but it is A3 and stuck on our cupboard doors so we can't miss it. That way, when we see a whole load of '-'s in one…
  • You look stunning!! You go girl!! :) Well done.. and don't feel like you're not getting anywhere..! Look at you!! You look great!! And your attitude's changed :) Well done And keep at it :)
  • X-trainer - better than running and cycling for calories per minute. Also, add weight training to your routine, and get more calorie burn. I got some routines from http://www.bodybuilding.com/guides/ and I've done ONE day and am feeling the difference. Hope this helps :)
  • Hahaha... nice one! I get cravings like that.. but then I tell myself 'you don't really want chocolate.. chocolate's horrible.. it tastes disgusting.. blech'. And I manage to not eat it :). Ooh another way to not eat after dinner.. brush your teeth and go to bed :) sleep makes it all go away!
  • Always aim to eat only 1200 calories a day. Keep that as the goal. Don't eat back what you burn. So don't look at Net calories, look at Gross.
