  • Beautiful doll face with stunning eyes! :O
  • Yuck. Kimchi! :D
  • I'm 5'6" in height, ~115 lbs in weight and have been maintaining for quite awhile with the following. Calories: 1900 - 2000 calories total (not net). Macros: 80/10/10 carbs/proteins/lipids Diet: High carb, high raw vegan Exercise: 30 - 45 minutes of cardio 5 or so days a week. Also use my bike to commute to work and…
  • People at my work and in my university classes tend to ask me, "Are you going to drink that whole thing?" a lot. I often haul a liter of orange juice or apple juice as a breakfast. The only juice brand I buy from the store is Simply. Because the ingredients in their apple and orange juices (orange-mango, orange-banana) are…
  • Super agree with Bethany! I've been on both sides. When I first joined MFP way back, I went with default as all I was really paying attention to was calories. I've since personalized my ratio to 80/10/10 carbs/proteins/lipids. This is my happy place; I find I feel and look the best at this ratio. Y'know, weight, athletic…
  • These are the salad dressings I've come up with that I love thus far. I've made 10 bad recipes for every good one lol. They're raw vegan, healthy, and SUPER easy to make. Just shove everything in a blender. Sweet basil dressing: tomatoes, fresh basil leaves, and a few dates Sweet dressing with a kick: mangos and a little…
  • Agree with malibu. Food scale is awesome. However, that being said, if you didn't prepare for a day and forgot to weigh something, were in a rush, etc, etc, don't stress about it. Vegetables are low in calories and you should never avoid them. So, when you need to, log the tomato as a medium tomato and don't sweat it. :]
  • I'm 25 years of age, 5'6" in height, ~115 lbs in weight, fairly active and I'm pretty consistent in eating 1900 - 2000 calories a day. My diet is mostly raw fruits and veggies though.
  • Yep, I have a food scale (got it on sale at Ross for <$20). It sounds like a pain, but if you eat alot of salads, it's pretty easy to pre-make them in tuberwares for the week all at once. Slap a sticky note on them with the #s.
  • I personally don't stress about the protein macro, but here's some things that come to mind: > popcorn (the stuff you air pop yourself) > greens (dark greens have protein in them too!) Protein and calories kinda go hand in hand though lol
  • This is going to sound pretty lame, but sometimes I wrap bananas in romaine lettuce leaves lol.
  • Hi PugBug20! So I TOTALLY sympathize with this! I am a full time college student and also work 20 hours/week! Been that way for about a year now. My diet has changed quite a bit in a year and I am now a high carb, high raw vegan. Makes it way easier as I typically lug a 2 liter of squeezed orange juice or perhaps a bundle…
  • Munch on some healthy, high calorie snacks. They'll be yummy and help you increase your calorie intake without feeling stuffed. Fruit is always a great option and dates (like medjool dates) are especially high in calories. And super sweet too! If you're more of a savory person, trail mixes, nuts, and nut butters are…
  • Cutting something like bread out of your diet shouldn't make you feel sick in the ways you describe. I'd be more willing to guess that it's something you've introduced - either new or in greater quantity to replace bread. Another possibility may be that you are low on calories in general. Typical commercial based breads…
  • @Anyone in this group: feel free to add me as a friend. Who wouldn't want fellow anime/manga lovers on their list? ;]
  • I agree with QuietBloom, though I may be biased. My daily diet is about 80% carbs and I like it that way as I feel and perform my best at that macro. I kinda feel that carbs get a bad reputation because everyone instantly thinks bread, bagels, etc. Don't fear the carbs, just keep them natural - fruits, vegetables, whole…
  • My daily intake is composed of 80% carbs (mostly fruits/veg), so I would encourage you not to fear them. However, here's some options that are low carb, low calories if that's what you prefer: > Veggies with greek yogurt dip > Egg white scramble - high protein, less than 20 calories per egg white > Hard boiled eggs > Salad…
  • Hey there Meagan, Welcome to MFP! I think you'll find an awesome support group here, the community is amazing. Glad to see such determination, it'll take you far. And your goals definitely worth striving for. I'm engaged as well, though mine has been a long term engagement lol. I also love anime and manga though tend to…

  • Hi there Kathy, lovely to meet you and welcome to MFP! Congratulations on your little bundles of joy! I can't imagine having two intense jobs simultaneously, props to you! I myself picked up running last year and have finally built myself up to running 5K. It's still not easy for me though. I hope to continue improving,…
  • You could also try replacing salt on some things. I've known a few people to use lemon juice on salads and veggies for a saltier taste.
  • This is interesting to see how different things work for different people, I love it. 2000 - 2300 daily calorie goal with 80% carb / 10% protein / 10% fat ratio. Ish, I'm not too strict on the numbers.
  • Not a problem. I wish you luck :D
  • A major increase in raw foods can definitely affect your digestive system. Bloating can occur as a result of about a million different reasons lol. Just a few common ones: Raw fruits and vegetables are naturally lower in calories than other foods. For example a tiny sized Sausage McGriddle breakfast sandwich at McDonalds…
  • My net calories are set for 2000 a day. So I usually end up with 2000 - 2400 a day. I feel very successful and have for some time with these numbers. I'm raw vegan though so...not sure if my choices will fit your palette. Feel free to add me if you care to, otherwise no offense taken ;] I think the more satisfied your body…
  • Best introduce yourself topic title ever. Your determination is awesome. If it ever fails you, let the amazing MFP community be your crutch. Some seriously motivating people here.
  • I actually just picked up running last year - the typical C25K endeavor. Since then, I've now completed three 5K events. I used to hate running, now I get a 5k jog in every other day or so. You're a much better runner than I (I've never really pushed myself into longer distance running), but I'm sending you a friend invite…
  • Gorge away good man! And feel no guilt! :D
