You can do it! I am proud of you!!!

Sick as a dog with a cold for the past week, but I ran every step of my race today! Dead last in my age division, but who cares?!?! I. Did. It. Happy Thanksgiving! -Jolee

Ran tonight. Got my confidence back. :) And I am officially a C25K graduate! Yay! :) Happy Running! -Jolee

Well, it was bound to happen. On my last run I tripped on a sidewalk crack and completely fell flat. Scraped up both hands and my knee. Knee is swollen. Pretty achey all over. Ugh. But it could have been way worse. I felt so stupid. Oh well, I am gonna just pick myself up, dust myself off, and start all over again tomorrow…

Way to go! You are doing AWESOME! Good run this morning! I only have 1 more run left and I will officially be done with C25K. Unbelievable! I am breaking in new shoes and rubbed a raw spot on the back of one heel this morning because my sock disappeared into my shoe. Will keep an eye on it, hope it doesn't give me fits. My…

Ran in the cold rain last night. Not my best run ever, but it got done! And I kept going the whole 30 minutes. A bit sore this morning, but nothing that a little ice and ibuprofin can't handle. :) Happy Running! -Jolee

Way to go! I am starting my final week tomorrow. Hard to believe that this is gonna be it! I am ready though, and will be good to go for my first race on Thanksgiving. I don't care about time, just that I finish. I will miss you guys! We should start another thread to keep up with each other! Happy Running! -Jolee

WAY TO GO!!!!!!!! Amazing feeling, isn't it? I made it through Week 8 Day 2 this morning. Did 2.99 miles in 39 minutes! Slow, but steady. Feeling good! Happy Running! -Jolee

Just talked to a friend who is a nurse and she said my run this morning could totally be the cause of my slightly elevated blood pressure. Still going to keep an eye on it, but I feel a little bit better about it. -Jolee

Week 8 day 1 down. On another note, had a health screening at work today and my blood pressure is running a bit on the high side. Ugh. Am calling my doctor to see what I need to do. Prayers appreciated. Happy running! -Jolee

It is more a mental battle for me than it is a physical one. I did have to take about 10 days off after I got halfway through Week 2 the first time. I was having serious arthritis pain in both knees. After getting that under control with ibuprofin and ice I started back up and haven't missed a beat since. I've found if I…

Thanks! I am running my first 5k on Thanksgiving too. :) Good luck to you too!

Week 7 is DONE! Ran this evening (still not a fan of running later in the day) and took 2 full minutes off of my Wednesday time. I was really surprised because I felt like I was dragging something terrible! Anyway, may do a bonus weekend run, or may just rest until starting Week 8 on Monday. Happy running! -Jolee

Week 7 Day 2 down! Found out that the runner attacked on our route Monday was attacked by a bat they think...the flying kind not the baseball kind. That made me feel ALOT better! Ran the Parkway loop here this morning, hills and everything. Not as bad as I had thought it would be. Not fun, but do-able. Hope everyone has a…

I know exactly how you feel! I never thought I would actually like running, but I do. So completely weird! :) I am praising God for my snooze button this morning. A runner was attacked this morning 3 blocks from our house on the route we always take. If I hadn't have wanted "just a few minutes more" it could have totally…

Well, it was 29 degrees this morning! Brrrrrrr!!!!!!! But I kicked that 25 minute run out like nobody's business! It wasn't fast, and it wasn't pretty, but it WAS. :) Week 6 is in the can, off to week 7 Monday. Am thinking of maybe getting in a "bonus" run this weekend...who am I? What has happened to me??? Hahaha! Happy…

W6D2 down! It was 35 degrees this morning so not as bad as I had thought it would be, but I much prefer 55 degrees. LOL! -Jolee

Hey...I have dealt with neck pain too. New pillows always seem to help, but a couple of years ago I gave in and went to a chiropractor who told me I have a degenerating/bulging disc in my neck from a car wreck we were in about 15 years ago. I rehabbed it for about 3 months and have felt so much better! Have you ever…

Haha! Thanks, Katie! Actually, my profile pic is about 10 years and 50 pounds ago...but it's one of my favorites so I keep using it! I am 42, and have 2 daughters in college! Andrea is 22, a senior majoring in Journalism with a minor in French and a couple of certificates in leadership and environmental studies. Katie is…

Will be praying for you in the morning! I felt good on my 20 minute run. And even better when it was done! LOL! It was weird, but good. When I think back to even just a month ago I am amazed that this was even possible! My husband is 2 weeks ahead of me so is at the point where there are no intervals, just straight running…

W6D1. A 5 minute, an 8 minute, and a 5 minute. Not bad. :) Happy running! Am thinking of you Katie, how are you doing? -Jolee

I had knee problems too after week 2. I thought maybe it was my shoes or that I had injured myself but it turned out to be good old-fashioned arthritis. :( I took about 10 days off because I was in alot of pain, took ibuprofin and iced my knee 3 times a day. I was pretty scared to go out again, but so far so good. I do…

Thanks! Way to go on your first 5k! We are in this together, and we CAN do it!!!

Just got back from Day 3, the dreaded 20 minute run. Not as bad as I had built it up to be in my mind. Made it the whole way running, ran the distance I had wanted to, and took 3 minutes off my route from Thursday. Hoping you had a good run, Katie. Am thinking of you, and prayed for you this morning! -Jolee
-
Chin up Katie! We all have good days, and bad days. The best thing you can do is to shake it off and keep moving! Don't get discouraged. :) The two times I ran in the evening (instead of first thing in the am on an empty stomach) I didn't think I was gonna make it either. They were miserable runs! I was really worried, but…

Well, I didn't run yesterday because it was raining but went this morning. I was nervous about 8 minutes, but it was fine! I actually felt so good I could have kept going, but I didn't. ;) Feeling a bit better now thinking about that 20 minute run coming up next. Hope you have a great run and a fabulous day!
-
W5D1 was fine. I was just tired from the day already. I will do W5D2 in the morning. :) And I wish we lived closer too, I have a feeling we'd have alot in common! At least we have each other as online buddies! Hope your run goes well in the morning. I will have to check out mapmyrun. We ARE doing great! Go us!

Okay. Ran this evening because I just didn't want to get out of bed this morning when my alarm went off. I like running in the morning better. But, I made it through...just was tired already when I started. Did W5D1. Keep on moving, that's what I am telling myself. :) -Jolee
