I couldn't make it up a flight of stairs without being out of breath. Before starting my healthy lifestyle, I felt OK (or thought I did). Looking back, I was constantly tired. Now... I can "bound" up the stairs without losing breath, can keep up with my eight year old son, and feel spectacular!

Welcome! Good luck.

For me this works... high fiber (whole grain bread and pasta), lean proteins, fresh veggies, limited fruits, and the occassional treat (1-2 times a week).

Welcome. This site is full of ideas and support and ready for you. Take it slow, with small steps. Good luck!!

Just be careful of the sodium content; too much can cause water weight gain. and it's important to get protein so hopefully your lunch included some cheese or chicken or tofu or something!

Everyone has great ideas. I too try to save some calories in case I'm snacky feeling. Try to determine if you are really hungry, just bored, or eating at night has become a habit. Also, take a look at what you eat during the day.... are you eating lots of veggies and fruit, whole grains, and lean protein? Maybe changing…

Measuring / weighing all meals for a week sounds like a good idea. You'd be surprised how small a half cup of something really is. I started my weight loss journey with Weight Watchers and was SHOCKED that I had no clue what a "serving" was and how much I really was eating. I'm a starch lover and the first time I cooked…

Team Edward absolutely. I love his old-school and traditional ways, the ultimate gentleman. I fell in love with the character in the book. That said, looks wise on the actors, I much prefer looking at Taylor Lautner (but couldn't stand the character Jacob in the book - winey and selfish).

I'm between 5'3" and 5'4". I started at 185 lbs and size tight 14, now am 140 lbs and size 8. My chest is still large, though I can actually fit in to Med shirts. yipee! Good luck!

I'm up for more friends too. Lost 40 pounds and am trying to maintain now, which is a challenge all its own.

There are low sodium versions available at the deli, that still taste great. I always get Boar's Heas, but there's a brand with Gold in the name that I got a sample of and liked too.

I also have Lynksys router and have t computers, a blueray and xbox all connected to it. Works like a charm, and only needs to be rebooted 1-2 times a year (though I think it's more a problem with the modem).

If you like pasta, you should eat it. As someone else said a serving is 2oz uncooked, which generalyl is about half a cup cooked. For me 1/2 cup isn't enough, so I allow myself a cup. Mix in halved cherry tomatoes, some minced/sliced garlic and a little Parm cheese and serve with a little meat or other lean protein. Yum!

Fresh raw veggies (carrots, peppers, tomatoes, cukes). Or low fat cheese and crackers.

I echo everyone's comments - Keep it up! At first it takes a while, you've just shocked your body with new foods and exercise. It needs tiem to adjust.

Looks pretty good overall to me. For me, I must have some sort of starch/grain at dinner time - like brown rice, whole wheat pasta, or whole wheat bread. That may help you keep to your minimum calorie goal, help digestion, and keep you feeling full till morning. When you eat too few calories, you actually can start to gain…

Just because they eat crud most days doesn't mean you can't introduce a slightly heathier option to them now and again. Veg pizza, side salads, grilled chicken sandwiches... depends on what places you have around you.

Stick with it!!! The scale will start to move eventually. Take a look at the kinds of food you're eating. The kind of calories matter - eating chips, snack, and fatty food will meet your calorie goal but can leave you feeling hungry and/or not give your the results you really want to see. Make sure you're eating fruits,…

When I first started losing weight, I continued to endulge in weekly popcorn with (lots) of extra butter. It kept me sane. Over time, I didn't want it ever week, and over time I used less and less butter. I think you need to keep something as a ocassional treat, so you don't "eat around it" then eat it anyways.

FABULOUS!!! Great job! Keep it up.

Tacos! - Taco shells (hard or hi-fiber soft), ground chicken breast or 90% lean beef or beans, taco seasoning, lettuce, tomatos/salsa, low/reduced fat cheese, low/no fat sour cream. Two tacos, 1/3cup chicken, 1/4cup cheese, and veggies are 500 calories or less/ Tonight I had 3 taco shells, 1cup ground chicken, 1/2cup…

I agree with this. What good will it do to give wrath and pain and questions? Sometimes it's just not worth it. Simply stating to this guy that what he did was horrible, it's in the past. You could also say that it would be really great to you and your hubby if he could help pay some of the remaining debt. If not, let it…

WW totally worked for me. It taught me what the right foods to eat are (whole grains, high fiber, lean protein, vegs/fruits) and what to set aside as treats for once in a while (chips, sweets, etc). I also learned what a portion size really is - that was very helpful. I didn't mind calculating points and sticking to it. I…

I don't eat before my 5:15am PIYO (Pilates / Yoga) class. I just can't get up before 5, and I'm not very hungry anyways. The first class, my tummy did churn a little (I made it through) and now I think I'm used to it. Try something small one day, and nothing another - see what feels best.
