I drink 2 - 3 diet cokes every single day, and some days I drink more.

My profile says I'm 53, but I'm really only almost 52. Good luck to you. I'll be rooting for you.

Rapid weight loss is not a good goal to have. Rapid weight loss is not sustainable and people who do it almost always put all the weight or more back on. I know all about this. Slow and steady wins this race. It has to be a lifestyle change to be sustainable, and if it's a lifestyle change you are making, you don't need to…

Good luck to OP and the rest of you. I'm rooting for you all.

THIS! It's a great consistent scale.

Welcome to MFP, Being over 50 won't stop you. You can do this. I'll be rooting for you.

That is amazing! You have done and are doing an incredible job! You're very inspiring.

Most of the time, if I eat too many calories, I exercise more so I still hit may daily goal. However, I am more focused on my weekly goals, and I sometimes let myself miss a daily goal as long as I hit my weekly. This allows me a night out or helps in situations where I have less control of the menu, and frankly it allows…

WOW! That is remarkable. Congratulations on your 1000th day, and on your incredible success.

Born and raised in the Valley of Flowers, Lompoc, California. Now a days, I split my time between Mission Viejo, California, and Cedar Knolls, New Jersey.

Walking is the only exercise I do so far. Seems to be working well for me.
-
This! Manage your calories and eat healthy.

Such great progress! Your a doing and looking awesome!

I started out with a goal to lose 160 lbs, but even 100 lbs seemed so far away. Now, it's in sight! You can do this! I'll be rooting for you.

Diet soda is not horrible. I drink caffeinated in the morning and decaf in the afternoon. There is so much BS literature out about aspartame, it's silly. Conspiracy theories abound, I have had two doctors tell me that if I'm not going to switch to water, stick with diet soda.

I know exactly how you feel. Great job! You really look amazing. Keep it going!

Hi fellow Dave. Congratulations on taking the biggest step. You can do this! KEEP LOGGING! I'll be rooting for you!

MFP, workout apps on smart phones, and HRMs are all estimating your calorie burn. None of them are exact. By the way, the calorie counts on packaged foods are only estimates also, and they usually are under estimated. Calories are the key do weight loss, but there's no easy way to track them accurately.

You can do this! It's all about calories. Don't let anyone tell you anything different. I'm rooting for you.

I love to eat out.

My wife and I are starting Wednesday so our rest day will be on Monday, but let's do this.
-
I count every calorie. If I go over on calories, I almost always do some extra walking or other calorie burning exercise to make it up, if not the same day, the next day.
-
Like everyone is saying, it doesn't matter. I eat my dinner between 8:00 and 9:30PM almost every day.
-
You should log them and then walk around the block.

That is incredible. You are incredible. Thank you for the inspiration,

I am unfortunately a member of the lost it - gain it back (and more) club. I lost 110 pounds several years ago. I reached my goal and reverted back to the old behaviors and 'slowly' gained it all back plus another 50 lbs. For me, I can not stop tracking ever. I'm taking it off slower this time and my wife is working with…

You get fat by eating fat. To lose weight stop eating fat.

I don't like working out in public. I am or have been too self conscience about my weight. So I walk less traveled routes and/or workout at home. I have invested in Bowflex equipment, treadmills, weights, mats, and various exercise equipment to avoid ever going to a gym.
