8/16: 3mi easy run on TM with 3% incline. 9:56 pace. Gym was significantly warmer today for some unknown reason. Not the most enjoyable gym run lol. But I guess anything beats the 115f death rays outside. Happy Friday! August total: 75.7mi

I recorded the emergency alert noise and use that as a loud phone alarm.

Join the Cross country and track teams. Biggest regret. Didn’t start running until 2008. Year after HS graduation :(

It’s going to be different for everyone. But I’ve done recovery runs and long runs the day after leg day. Often doubling days with AM lift, PM run and the reverse. I just take it by feel. I will say that all my runs over 18mi, I’ve taken a rest day (lifting) before. I just want to be fresh.

30min short run

Treadmill 6mile. 50min.

8/15: TM 6mi @ near threshold pace. With last mile 95%+ effort. Last mile I did pace bumps every 0.10mi at 7.6 - 8.6mph. 8:24 overall avg. Down over 4min from 12 days ago. A little over 8min to go till PR range (42min). Having fun again. August total: 72.7mi

Ya it’s pretty extreme. Unfortunately I was unable to run all spring/early summer. So I lost all heat tolerance and endurance. Normally I’d be much better off for summer running. But this year is a whole different battle. I’m definitely coming back though. Weekly progress. Have a great workout!

Ya man summer runs down in the valley aren’t very fun until Oct. The night runs are great though. Just have to be on extreme rattlesnake alert. @Teresa502 Thanks!

Technically still 8/13 when I began the night run. Met up with a friend for another Peak. 5.6mi and 1,060ft gain. Daily total: 8.6mi I call this run the radio towers. It reminds me of the movie Contact. The Meteor shower was very visible. Even with the Vegas lights. Saw 6. I cannot remember the last time I could see them…

Trail runner yes. I also road run too. Here’s a peak from late last night looking over Las Vegas NV. Enjoying the cool temps up top.

8/11: 7mi with 2,000ft elev gain. Late night Mtn summit under the stars with a good friend. After grinding runs down in the Vegas valley in 115f the last 5wks, the mid 70s up top felt absolutely amazing. Just what I’ve been needing. A nice boost of motivation and the cap to a great week. (Pic is view of Las Vegas. Strip is…

30yo. 2 spinal fusions (scoliosis). Have been running on and off since 2008. Dozens of marathons and half’s over the years. Currently rebuilding running after 6mo leg injury. Possible 50k late Sep.

I haven’t been on here in years, but I’ve pretty much rediscovered the mfp app today. Recently healed up an injury which prevented me from running over half the year. 5 ish wks ago it was a struggle mile. Yesterday I managed an easy 10 mile on the treadmill. Honestly have no idea of a August month goal. But week to week my…

@lporter229 It will take time to build up strength and get used to trail running. It’s quite different than road running. But yes. I use trails as recovery days all the time. Strength training will help. I like deadlifts.

Midnight peak run with friends. So quiet I could hear my heartbeat. Just dead calm. Until I reached the peak. Just short of 12,000ft. I was greeted with an Arctic wind that chilled me to the bone in minutes. Sacrificed my hands for some darker photos before I curled up into a ball for 70 minutes waiting for my friends to…

No running yesterday or today (well most of it). My right knee is feeling kinda weird. May squeak by the month goal (220mi), might not. No biggie. I put in some good weeks. I’ll get back to the mileage targets. But maybe after 1 lighter week. But I’m joining 20-30 people tonight at midnight on a run up to a 12,000ft mtn…
