HI ladies, I've been reading up on PCOS as I think I may be a victim. My weight has been plateaued for about a year now. I might lose 5lb but then it comes back and I consistently eat very healthy. I have had problems with acne, but now have it under control by using Proactiv. I have also noticed several wirey hairs on my…

It very well might be too low. I was also trying to stick to 1200...then I had my metabolism tested and found out I should be eating 1800-2400 calories a day to lose weight. What an eye opener!!!
-
My BMR calculation on MFP was 1000 calories less than my real BMR that I had tested. So, I'm guessing there are some inaccuracies that might be throwing things off.
-
Bump. I'm just learning about this BMR stuff....had mine tested last night and am scared to eat as many calories as I'm supposed to!
-
It's actually a breathing test...I have no idea how it works, but it does. It calculates how many calories your body burns at rest..if you were to do nothing but sit in a chair all day. It then calculates what your calorie range should be if you want to lose weight and th range you should be in if you want to maintain. I…

You're right...I worded that incorrectly. I can eat 2477-3218 to maintain, depending on my activity level. I will be keeping my count closer to 1900 though.
-
Just to clarify...My Maintenance Zone is 2477-3218 (not 3500...typo!)..depending on my normal daily activity levels. The 2477 is if I do NOTHING all day long...that number will go up based on how active I am and how much I exercise. I have no intentions of eating anywhere near 3000 calories...I'm just happy to be able to…

No..I'm really struggling just to maintain and I'm working my butt off! She charges $80.

Smoothies are also a great option....I use frozen fruit, protein powder, and unsweetened Silk and a little water.

One thing I love is a toasted English muffin, peanut butter and fresh fruit (I like to use blueberries or raspberries), and make a sandwich out of it. It's yummy and very filling!!

I'm looking for more friends too! My friends have been too quiet lately! Not that I post a whole lot, but I need a little more interaction!

I love this site so far too! Feel free to add me as a friend, I'm always looking for more support and am always willing to offer support!!

It helps me to log my food BEFORE I eat it! it does require some work to plan ahead like that, but that makes a huge difference for me! Don't beat yourself up....keep going, it does get easier! Good luck!!

I've also done both.....in fact I just started back on the WW plan today (coming off the 17DD)...I am logging my food on MFP, and in the notes section keeping track of my points. I'm very close to being back to my lifetime member status and once I'm there, it's free. I feel like the meetings are just that much more support…

You are in the right spot - there is lots of motivation here! I have not used the EA 2, I only have EA 1 but haven't used that in awhile. While being unemployed is probably a downer, look at it as an opporunity to have more time for exercising and planning your healthy meals and snacks!
-
Your story is so sad, my sympathy is with you. However, I think you are on the right path by first getting your mind in order and now your body. Good luck to you, there is lots of support here on MFP!

I love mine! I even have one at work for quick, healthy lunches!

I've also been here for a couple months and love it so far! Feel free to add me as a friend!

www.tanga.com has awesome magazine deals almost daily...I've gotten Self, WW, Clean Eating, and several others for $4 or less for a year's subscription. It's definitely worth checking out!
