Hi, I'm 65 from Ottawa Ontario. I was previously active on Fitness Pal but gave up on it some time ago. I plan on hiking in the White Mountains, NH, later this summer and have to lose weight and improve my fitness before I leave. Good luck to us!

My downfall is carbs in the evening. So, no carb snacks during the evening for 21 days...starting today!

The bad news so far...a French vanilla ice cream and maple syrup binge of such heroic proportions that it's amazing I didn't need insulin. The good news...lots of daily exercise-vigorous cross country hiking, resistance training, spinning and Stair Master. I've actually lost a pound in the last few days.

Three exercises planned today. I just came in from 3 hours of downhill skiing and this evening I have a swimming lesson. After swimming I will vigorously mix a martini.

I quit smoking a couple of years ago and 20 pounds of belly fat magically appeared. The difficulty I have in getting it off is compounded by a near addiction to carbs. I'm now working out and watching calories to bring my waistline and body fat percentage down, but its not easy. Good luck to both of us.
