Who is Greg Nuckols? His site says he's a trainer? The other guy is a PhD in nutrition, the one who said "If you eat 200 calories your body will use between 40 and 70 of them in digestion."

Or set up a home gym, or switch to a gym with stricter rules and that enforces them. It's not neuroticto let rudeness bother you. It's normal. If you think the chatterbox next to you is watching your treadmill console or chatting to annoy you explicitly or something, that's neurotic. :)

Yeah, Johnson's (JUDDD) and Varady's plans are pretty similar. I like ADF too. It's tough but I hate the incessant focus on calories 24/7 so I'll do about anything to avoid that noose.

I didn't mean that as a snarky response or a "just drink moderately" one. Like most drinkers eventually do, I've had my struggles. I don't understand someone willingly drinking to black out stage 3 nights a week, and not wanting to stop. So I'm hoping it's exaggeration. I do understand some can't stop a binge ending there…

They're not doing 'eating windows', they're doing 'every other day modified fasting' but the JUDDD forum at lowcarbfriends.com is a good source of ideas and support. http://www.lowcarbfriends.com/bbs/forumdisplay.php?f=89

I don't think she does that. I'm no expert on her but I don't recall her recommending any diets in the last 30 years besides sharing her own Optifast experience, following trainer Bob Greene and now WW. But when she reads a new book, millions of women read it, mentions a new perfume, etc., etc. They even named it-- the…

I wouldn't add any because fish isn't really porous and the teaspoon or so of milk that might cling to the meat is immaterial in calories.

I think it still affects people. If you're say listening to a podcast or audiobook or your treadmill's tv, you shouldn't have to blare the audio to drown out the rude person jabbering away standing next to you. Not everyone likes loud music during their workout, or noise cancelling headphones.

I would say I've had success with fasting in the past. It's a learning experience, for sure. You are probably just freaking out over the new restriction. If you just pay attention to what you're feeling and remain calm and realize hunger isn't an emergency, you'll get past the panicky feeling and learn from it. It's good…

Yeah, I'm not going to listen to a Layne Norton podcast to see what exactly he was ridiculing about her but I can't say my opinion of him is improved by his making fun of anyone's weight loss attempts. As far as I know, she did one extreme diet- Optifast, in the late 80s- and since she's been doing pretty consistent,…

"Blacks out"... is that hyperbole, or what some people call going to sleep drunk? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blackout_(drug-related_amnesia) I don't think I've blacked out from drinking since I was 15. I don't like the feeling of not remembering what I did, though. Maybe some do.

I had always read TEF was exactly that (energy to digest it). I have never heard the 4 calories/gram estimate already was lowered for TEF, either. http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/ask-the-macro-manager-what-is-thermic-effect.html

I think if his workouts work for him they're likely to work for you. I read about a lot of fitness professionals that do it that way-- Not much time in the gym (or home gym) but they're consistent about the short, HARD, targeted workouts they do.

The last gym I went to had signs up all over that it wasn't allowed. I would check with your gym rules. If it's a policy, ask them to enforce it. If it's not, suggest they consider it.

If you're losing inches you're losing fat. Ignore the scale for now. It's probably water. Nice job so far!
-
Based on the little bit I did see about it, the guy's food recommendations ARE going to be low cal, filling foods, which are good for keeping your intake low. He's pushing high fiber, high water, low fat produce. So if it appeals to you, go for it! It won't be 'negative calorie' but it'll be low cal.

Mayo Clinic says it's a myth. http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/cancer/in-depth/cancer-causes/art-20044714 I would use the new freezer for other things and pre-prep a week's worth of lunches every Sunday and keep them in the frig. I don't like old, frozen food for lunch, though. And we're all different.

I was curious so I googled it. It looks like his guest was this author. http://www.amazon.com/Foods-That-Cause-Lose-Weight/dp/0380807971 I clicked a link on the Oz site for Barnard and it said he's a psychiatrist. Kind of weird it doesn't mention that on the Amazon page or on Barnard's own sites. He's written a lot of diet…

Technically, processing isn't the determining factor but I think most people realize that by processed foods they mean things like Twinkies, Oreos and Cheetos, not protein powder or pre-made salads.

One thing that's cool about it is (I think) they have you book your workouts in advance and if you don't show up, you're charged (assuming you're on something besides the unlimited plan). That would make me show up, for sure. They seem to compare their fee to personal training hours, not really gym memberships.

I don't know if it varies across locations but this is from a 2013 article- Basic (four classes a month) costs $59; Elite (eight a month) $99; and Premier (unlimited) $159. You can add additional classes to Basic and Elite for $14 and $12 respectively, and family members can join for a reduced rate. I would love to try it…

I know, I just don't think referring her to an ED site is really applicable. Just my opinion.

I think if spending time discussing diet online is a disorder, most of us have it.

I definitely wouldn't get on a treadmill with weights, and I'm not sure I'd go up and down stairs with them. Maybe I'm too safety conscious, and protective of my knees. This guy offers some alternatives- http://www.andrewheming.com/2015/05/the-best-alternative-to-farmers-walks.html

Sorry, I was trying to help. Most HRMs don't need gel. Yours might just need washed or something. Maybe a new strap battery. Good luck.

I take flaxseed oil. I did burp from the Kirkland brand. My doctor said a lot of them are rancid, even Kirkland, and to bite one when you buy a bottle and make sure it tastes fresh and return the bottle if not. Blech, no thanks. I do give my dogs each two Kirkland fish oil pills a day.

Wow, good for you! You look plenty lean now. No diet will change skin, really. Exercise might change your body composition. You're young so your skin could bounce back a lot given time, I'd think? My book rec. would be New Rules of Lifting (original, not "for Women"). Good luck!

It doesn't take that level of precision to hit your goals. .2oz. of OJ is around 3 calories. If it makes you feel in control or more accurate to drink exactly 8 oz. that's ok but you don't have to go that far to have success. A lot of people will burn out quicker while aiming for that level of precision. And a skipped…

Keep going. It looks good now, not too big. In 3 weeks you probably won't lose a full size or anything. Inches come slow when you're not very big. They may come off your hips or thighs next anyway. Pretty dress! Have fun!

How does your bra wick the sweat out from between your strap and your skin? Or do you wear the strap over your bra band? I'm not even much of a sweat-er but a minute of cardio and my Polar conducts fine.
