This whole caps lock situation is making feel much less amenable to spending my time troubleshooting. So good luck, OP.
-
OP, do you happen to have a fitbit or anything like that hooked up to your MFP account?
-
That makes three of us.

If I thought I had to eat under 1200 calories for the rest of my life to maintain my weight I would… I don't know. I would do something drastic. And it wouldn't be pretty. *shudders*

It's also more difficult to give you specific advice without knowing what kind of advice to give you when we don't know what you weigh, how tall you are, what weight you're trying to reach. Also, are you weighing your food?
-
OP, just out of curiosity, how many calories are you typically netting per day?
-
Well now I'm afraid to go to the gym because I'm scared I'll be judged for checking Twitter...
-
Totally. I'm living for my strawberry shortcake this week. Hasn't slowed my progress down a bit.
-
If by "stop and eat junk food" you mean "stop and begin eating meals like a normal person again" then you are absolutely correct.
-
That's not what anyone is saying. But if you're not logging and you're not weighing then it makes it impossible for everyone, with essentially no information, to help you ascertain what the problem might be.

I think the problem people are encountering when it comes to giving you productive advice is that your goals are basically impossible. So we're left at slightly loose ends.

Occasionally after reading I'll feel like I'm not losing fast enough compared to other people or I'm not being hardcore enough. That's when I know it's time to close the forums and focus on something else for awhile. :flowerforyou:

Depends on your schedule, I think. I usually don't go to sleep until ~5 am so my days start whenever I wake up and run until whenever I go to sleep. Like most things, what matters most is having a consistent system that works for you.

I think I'd be insanely careful when it came to suggesting supplements to a breastfeeding mother. Similarly, I'd be insanely careful what supplement suggestions I took from an Internet stranger, were I a breastfeeding mother. But that's just me.

This, for one: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1092172-living-with-obesity-at-700-calories-per-day?hl=700+calories

Additionally, if you don't want to overdo it, I probably wouldn't start with an hour of exercise twice a day. That feels like a one way ticket to burn out.
-
Actually, if you're only trying to lose 10-12 pounds you should probably be aiming to lose .5 pound a week. *shrugs*
-
Here is the potential problem with this system: If you're only eating back half your exercise calories to make up for inaccurate calorie counting… ...what happens if you're calculating your exercise burn incorrectly? Are you using a chest strap heart rate monitor?
-
Well, I'd start by going back to your doctor and talking to them about it because you really, really, really shouldn't just stop taking an antidepressant. Perhaps they can find a better fit for you and advise you on how to tackle weight loss. It may also help to get some bloodwork done and see how your various levels are.
-
Try and stay the course. Don't spiral if I fall a bit short. Look forward to two days after when I magically "lose" 3 pounds overnight.
-
Ah. Well then. You're eating at maintenance or a bit above.
-
How much do you weigh, how tall are you, and how much are you looking to lose?
-
I'm not entirely sure how much clearer he could have been. I read it merely as a casual recommendation that if you were concerned about rate of loss you could always experiment with eating back only a percentage of your exercise calories. *shrugs*

Ugh. I'm too dumb to post urls.

The lowest amount of calories MFP is EVER going to tell you to consume, because of health concerns, is 1200 calories. So what happens is this: You tell MFP, "I want to lose 2 pounds a week!" MFP says, "Okay…" takes your stats, your activity level, figures out your likely BMR/TDEE/whatever, and does the math for what it…

You may be used to losing weight like that but seeing as you're here trying to lose weight again, I'm guessing it wasn't an effective method for keeping the weight OFF. Two pounds a week is the max most people should aim to lose in a week and seeing as you're only looking to lose 25-35, you should be aiming for a pound a…
