I claimed I was addicted to sugar long ago. Then I woke up and realized I just liked sugary foods and had no self control. Sugar is not evil and just because you don't have self control does not mean you are addicted to it. It is an excuse and until you start blaming yourself instead of food, nothing will help.

I don't weigh all my food (never have). I don't even own a scale. I have never had trouble surpassing my goals. If I ever do stop progressing I would think about getting a scale, but at this point I don't need to. I am happy for everyone who weighs everything and enjoys it, do what works for you.

Staying hydrated is important. It is important to take in adequate amounts of fluid. Plain water is not the only way to stay hydrated. I get hydration from the foods I eat, teas, juices, the occasion diet sprite, gatorade (when I am at work) and also plain water.

Congrats on the WL and finding what works for you! I personally have NOT denied myself the foods I used to enjoy. I just eat less nutritious "junk" food in moderation.

MFP is not just a calorie counting site... When I joined, I didn't read anywhere saying I had to use all of the available features. I choose not to use the site for calorie counting anymore, but the site is still useful. I can log my workouts, water intake and also my measurements without using the calorie counter.

If it were only food allergies that would be one thing, but I have to omit a lot of foods from diet for reasons other than allergies. As I said, I work around medical issues also and would not suggest my diet to anyone who does not have my specific issues as it would not be sustainable for the average person.
