And now you're on track! We probably all have our little setbacks, and that's OK.

Then it sounds like you've found a winner!

I don't know about cardiovascular health - I didn't really know of any way to track it (other than able to perform at medium / high intensity for longer periods, which was certainly true). I figured it would be good for my CV health, and I am not much of a fan of steady-state cardio, so I tried to sub in some HIIT and had…

You are rocking this cleanse!

Not a huge cheesecake fan. I mean, I like cheesecake, but on a dessert menu with lots of competing choices, I'll basically never choose cheesecake. But I enjoy the Talenti Raspberry Cheesecake. It doesn't wow me, but I don't expect it too. I enjoy it though. And definitely the mix-ins have a lemony-tart flavor. I didn't…

When I first started doing HIIT it was pretty much the same. I could only go max for about 15 seconds and then needed about 60 seconds recovery. Gradually worked up to trying to maintain for 30 seconds on/off. But I never really went beyond about 12 - 15 cycles, and sometimes only about 8 - 10. It really does kick one's…

Congrats! Just be aware that when one cuts carbs significantly, one generally loses a lot of water weight during the first week or so. That water weight can come back really quickly when you reintroduce a carb heavy diet (or day). All this by way of saying -- do not freak out if your cheat day includes a fair bit of carbs…

You are not going to get a lot of muscle / bodybuild look unless you really, really want to and put in a lot of deliberate, focused effort. Whether you're lifting at around 5 reps or up to around 12 - 15 you're probably fine given your aesthetic goals. Best recommendation is to find a proven, structured, regular program…

Hitting the giggle after "I go on too many dates" was a nice touch!

On pure calorie burn, solid explanation here: runnersworld.com/weight-loss/how-many-calories-are-you-really-burning

That narrows it down to like 114 places. Do post back if you remember - been awhile since I've had a beignet (and last time it was meh).
-
Do tell! Where can I get an outstanding beignet in SF, because I will be there!

Hi OP. I'm confused because it seems like you've been on MFP for some time (and I think you've mentioned in the past trying to track closely), but still come back to the forums every now and again to solicit generic answers like this. The best way you can determine your TDEE is to track your intake very carefully for 4 - 6…

I find a number of database entries where the fat in grams is obviously misreported with the "calories from fat" listing on labels. Could be what happened here. As suggested, you'd be doing other db users a favor by correcting it.

Be sure to ingest a large amount of bath salts, peyote, and crank at least an hour before you begin filming.

6 CHF for an individual chocolate sort of puts $12 Jeni's pints in a different perspective, no?

In my experience, "cream" in this context means anything dairy (or non-dairy substitutes) that's available. So, at an office and someone gets a coffee from the breakroom and asks if you want cream? They may be asking if you'd like a little package of non-dairy creamer, or half-and-half, or milk of whatever fat content is…

There is so much context here . . . the nature of your team's interactions, how everyone feels about you, the circumstances of the discussion . . . I'm not even going to try to list out how impossible it is for any of us to reliably interpret the situation. Having said that, maybe it's fun to speculate and one speculation…

Unless you have a medical condition requiring you to lower your sodium intake, you probably shouldn't worry too much about MFP's (or the USDA's) sodium levels, at least not as an upper band. That said, if you want to lower your sodium intake for whatever reason, there are lower sodium alternatives of soy sauces and of…

Straight liquors neat or with whatever no cal mixer you like. I like to sip tequila, and have a glass of water every now and again. For those of you suggesting G&Ts - be aware that unless you're drinking no cal tonics (which taste nasty, IMHO) tonic water is actually more calorific than you might expect.
-
Portion control. If it is really hard for you and you really don't want to go over your target every now and again, consider eating something pretty low cal for the volume before you go over to that meal or potluck.

Start resistance training yesterday. How tall are you? Your profile says male. Unless you're a shorty (meant in a non-disparaging way), you probably need to throttle it back a bit in the near future. I tend to be a bit more aggressive in terms of weight loss targets than a lot of people on MFP, and don't think 10 lbs a…

Too true and what a great thing. And as far as NOLA? OK, I'll give you beignets; but come out to SF for some fresh, hot, crusty sourdough.

Greek yogurt? Some breakfast sausage / bacon / ham? Half a bagel with some cream cheese and lox?
