  • Wow! I've had Brambleberry, but those others sound amazing!
  • New haul today: I an a coconut fan; I found the new Talenti; and I figure the BLVD will either be caramel overload or something out of MrM's dreams. Reviews to follow as consumed.
  • I weigh my bread, but then again I almost always have sliced sourdough rounds in the house, and those slices can be all over the map in terms of weight. With a uniform loaf of bread from the store, I'd probably just go with the packaging serving for each slice.
  • @Kruggeri - is this your husband in action at his Mom's store? (Found in GIS)

  • I'm going to go out on a limb here and speculate that a food company that produces egg whites in a carton is not discarding the yolks, but instead is finding a productive use for them.
  • You need to join the group so you can post reviews for us when you have this kind of stuff.
  • That's only because you don't make him offerings of eggs around this time of year and/or are not sufficiently advanced in your MMA training. You'd best get to work - you don't want him coming around with his blood-stained fingers (I mean, did you see that dismembered foot / leg near the flower pot in the lower left?)

  • The machine estimate sounds closer to what I'd expect than MFP's estimate. I'm not an expert on walking or running with an incline (really, I'm not an expert in anything), but 650 cals for 3.4 miles sounds like too much, especially if your profile pic is real and you're not carrying a ton of extra weight.

  • Haha! Our microwave died a few days ago. I did a bunch of online research to find a replacement microwave that would fit in our cabinet, was the right color, wattage, etc. Virtually every ad banner on every website I go to is now microwave ads.
  • I buy liquid egg whites in a carton (and I prefer the "highly processed" ones the most - egg beaters, southwestern style, which has with some peppers, etc., included). Very low cal, some protein, and great for scrambles with other additions. Not so great as an egg substitute for me other than as a scramble. And not been a…
  • He (and his caretakers) truly are awesome! Here is Dug from last Easter:

  • Kinda both. It is a grocery store that sells tons of its "own" products -- i.e., TJ's sources product from a variety of suppliers and rebrands them as Trader Joe's brand (or Trader Giotto's in the case of Italian treats, Trader Jose's in the case of Mexican, etc.) Generally reasonably priced, and often hard-to-find sorts…
  • In my neighborhood (well, next town over on the way to my home gym), you never know what you're going to find in an Easter Egg. In this case, a T-Rex! (Look for "Dug the T-Rex" on Facebook for more great costumes for my favorite yard dinosaur!)

  • Just chiming in to add that I gave that estimator a whirl and it overestimated my TDEE by about 280 calories (based on detailed actual results and decent logging during my own loss / maintenance / gain periods).
  • Really cheap, but decent, wine!

  • I'm on a PC using Chrome and pics are fine (and resized). I do so the doubled post count / member tag, though.

  • I remember it from the package -- it is a blend of blackberry and black currants. And it's good; but the little oat cluster mix-ins are the shining star. I will buy this again, for sure (even at Jeni's prices).
  • Cleanse progress! I am currently in a long, leisurely cut, targeting about 0.5 lb per week. After 80+ days, I am right on track. Since the start of the cleanse, my weight loss has actually picked up slightly!** Thank you, Spring Cleanse! ** (Not really; just small data set)

  • Yeah - that's the "net carb" thing. Not sure about labeling regs, but some packaged foods definitely adjust cals for insoluble fibers that would appear as carbs normally (Quest bars for example). And some users do it themselves in db entries usually noting it as net carbs.

  • If you haven't maximized your strength with existing muscle mass, sure. Lots of strength can come from neuromuscular adaptations. Newer lifters especially can increase strength significantly while cutting / without adding mass.
  • Common culprits are (1) alcohol, (2) database entries with incorrect calories or macro data, and (3) db entries of foods with "net carbs" where fiber is backed out of the carb total.

  • I want that flavor, too. Thanks for the MH rec, BTW - high quality ice cream. The Turkish Coffee is pretty much like most coffee flavors I've had; the Ricotta & Fig is very good, but much of the flavor is more vanilla-cinnamon (and less ricotta-y / fig-y). Still good!
  • Oh, she had better stuff, too. But there was something delightfully sinful about sneaking her weird diet candy. On the other things: she knew we grandkids liked *good* breakfast cereal. So she stocked up on Cap'n Crunch Crunchberries, Frosted Flakes, Sugar Smacks, Apple Jacks, etc. (a nice vacation from Cheerios,…
  • My grandmother used to keep boxes of Ayds candies in the house. It was awesome. Trip to grandma's = weird diet candy feast on the sly. [I'm as *advanced* as you, so no judgment on the grandma reference here]
