Totally understand. I haven't even hit my goal yet and I'm experiencing the creep. I'm eating far below my TDEE ( on most calculators) and I'm up 5+ pounds from my lowest weight which was still 7 pounds short of my goal. I'm on creatine and I lift heavy so I'm hoping it's mostly just water retention but it's been months…

Anyone done the Special Ops Cardio yet?
-
They are actually named after the dude that "invented" them ( as if such a spawn of hell needs to be invented). In the new Hard Corps 22 workouts there is one video where Tony Horton has you do a weighted back roll, into plow then a roll forward into burpee using a dumbell. It's ridiculous.
-
Seriously that's the first calculator that has actually given me a TDEE number that makes sense. Most of them put me up around 2,700 to maintain. I'm currently eating 1800-2000 and maintaining (I'm actually not even at maintenance yet). At 2,700 I'd be in a full on bulk. And most of those calculators I have to put in…

Awesome. What a difference already! Keep up the good work.

http://examine.com/supplements/ I've been reading alot of the studies listed on this site. Especially the creatine, fish oil, and BCAA's which are the three main supplements I use. For fish oil specifically that site shows via double blind clinical trials a very high correlation of a strong effect of lowering…

I've seen articles about one of the benefits of lifting heavy weight is increases to bone density. I'd have to assume with all the weight bearing the hands do, it would hold true for them as well. But then again I've been lifting heavy for years and haven't really noticed it being any easier/harder to get my wedding ring…

I've had it for a week or so. Haven't started the full on schedule but did quite a few of the workouts. The Special Ops workouts are fantastic. The sandbag really makes quite a difference (of you can use a dumbell if you don't get the deluxe edition). Also for fans of P90X3 there is a brand new Cold Start video that is a…

Cool your ripped. Awesome. Your post was still a troll. It would be akin to me going into a thread asking "favorite free weight routine at the gym" and me posting "Insanity"
-
Not really.. 1- Some people don't like/want/or can afford going to a gym 2- Some people can't afford to buy all the free weights for home use 3- Free weights aren't going to do as much to improve your cardiovascular health, flexibility, endurance such as a program like Insanity will 4- She specifically asked about…

If you do Body Beast on a deficit you just have to understand you're not going to see much if any muscle growth. You can improve strength, and hit new PR's, and progress but without a calorie surplus you're not going to "get big" or "toned". Like the poster above said muscles don't tone, you just lose enough fat that you…

Sounds to me like T25 is the perfect program for you. The modifier is there for that reason. You go as hard as you can following Shaun and when you have to modify you do. Then the next time you do the video you go as hard as you can and each time you get better and better until you no longer need the modifier. As far as…

Yea there's just no way a 160 cal shake had much to do with you gaining 22 pounds. You'd either have to be loading it up with a ton of calories or drinking 4-5 of them a day to get up to that level of overeating. I'd blame all those other factors for that. And I think you should really go get checked out. Some of those…

I mean it's right on the back of the bag and is freely available on the internet. Now as to the actual health benefits to all those ingredients I've read a few breakdowns that show the dosage levels on most of them are so minute they are basically moot. But I know how my body feels when I am drinking it as opposed to when…
-
Interesting read. I've been drinking it on and off for over two years and have never experienced anything like that. The only negative "side effect" I can state for me is if I don't drink a shake for 2-3 days and then drink one I end up with a couple of extra "bathroom visits". I chalk it up to the prebiotics. When I drink…

You did it once, no doubt you can do it again. Set your mind and get it done.

Yep welcome to the wonderful world of DOMS. We wear our DOMS like a badge of honor. It just means you are using your muscles in a way they were not prepared for. They have been torn up, will repair, and will be more suited for that activity the next time you do it. This is how we progress and get better. Eventually you'll…

For my Krav classes I wear the compression shorts with the cup built in. Krav is big on groin kicks so the reason is probably quite understandable. But even on my normal cardio workouts and weight lifting days as others have said "keeps everything in place". Not only that but when doing stuff like squats and deadlifts with…
-
I don't even really see the big deal. Lifting heavy during the day then Insanity at night if planned right you're probably rarely using the same muscle groups, and even if so using them in a totally different way. I'd assume if you worked arms heavy during the day you would choose an Insanity vid that works the lower body…

Yep I do a big mix of Body Beast, Insanity, Krav Maga and Stronglifts. My schedule each week looks something like this but not set in stone: Monday: Body Beast Chest/Tris Tuesday: Krav Maga Class Wed: Body Beast Back/Bis Thurs: Krav Maga Class Fri: Body Beast Shoulders/Insanity Pure Cardio or Max Cardio Circuit Sat: Krav…

Yea Insanity and T25 are alot of jumping and hopping. Shaun T is like an energizer bunny. It can be quite an all out assault on the lower body with all the impact. If you have any sort of knee/ankle issues I'd avoid his programs. But when it comes to cardio he is king in my book. I tried doing the Chalean vids a couple of…

5'10 186 LBS My 1 rep max on deads is 330 and I did it once months ago and haven't been able to replicate it since. So in reality 320-325 is probably my true max. Of all the compound lifts I struggle to progress on Deads the most. Lately I've been keeping it light and just focusing on form and trying to build up the…

Well for "building muscle".. Body Beast is the go to.If you are looking for all around fitness like cardiovascular health, endurance, flexibility then insanity is my go to. T25 is like a baby version of Insanity. I have alot of the BeachBody programs but I'd need to know some more details about what you want to accomplish…

Just curious. What's your favorite and most hated video in Alpha or Beta? For me: Fav: Speed 1.0/Speed 2.0 Hated: Total Body Circuit :s
-
I do it as part of a Hybrid with Insanity so I'll follow the thread. B)
-
I mean.. how's he going to do the squats and deads if he can't do any lower body? OP check out Body Beast like I suggested. Sounds like a much better fit for your current limitations and goals.
-
I started with T25 three years ago and I can totally empathize with the soreness. Just remember you're using your muscles and body in a way it hasn't been used in a long time. The DOMS can be intense. But just push through and it will get better. It's a great program and that Alpha phase is designed to get your lower body…
-
With your recent injuries and surgeries are you able to do compound lifts like Squats and Deads? If so I'd say give Stronglifts 5x5 a try. If you can't and you'd rather focus on individual body parts Body Beast is a great program and is rather cheap these days. It's structured like your original workout plan. Chest/Tris,…
-
Yea the Alpha phase is very heavy on the lower body and core. There are a couple of vids that hit the upper body. Total Body Circuit has things like tap pushups, spider lunges. But it's mainly just body weight. Beta starts to incorporate dumbells/bands into the workouts and Gamma gets really heavy with weights. So I agree…
