I agree with the above, any isolation exercises should be accessory ( and complimentary ) to the main lifts ( squats, deads, and bench ).

I'm suspecting a muscle imbalance my be an issue. If you have stronger quads than hamstrings it could cause problems. I would try hamstring strengthening accessory lifts, or the other way around if you have strong hamstrings and weak quads. I wouldn't worry too much about knee tracking over the toes, I think that thought…

I have been discussing the same thing with my wife. My plan was 24 weeks hypertrophy, then 24 weeks of strength. But I have not researched too much yet, I still have a ways to go on this cut before I am comfortable bulking again.

If the O.P. is going to do a crash diet I would highly advise to do strength training , you need it, to help minimize the loss of lean body mass.

I wouldn't even trust the vet, most vets don't know jack about nutrition. I would find a veterinary nutritionist, and get her to lift heavy. you can assure her she will not get bulky.

If you can squat " hugging " a plate. I would try front squats with a barbell.

What I was trying to say was. If the people around the O.P. do not understand why they are waiting in between sets? The other people not the O.P. are the ones that are doing it wrong. Next time I will try to be more clear.:flowerforyou:
