  • The transition (or decision to stay in) the Sevice is always huge especially if your talking about after a first enlistment. (you didn't say). I've seen alot of the guys endulging every food whim just before they get out, just because they can. I can't, and never would speak for your husband, but its entirely possible that…
  • I'm in for sure... if its still open? Granted I can do about 50 "wide arm" push ups, but when they change the PT test, those won't be allowed, and I still have to do the close arm ones on my knees! so that will be my goal, the narrow stance push ups. Must be different muscles? anyway, I seem to be a bit late geeting…

  • http://www.thewheelchairsite.com/exercise/ Has some neat ideas for resistance bands, cheap and easy to obtain (got mine at wallyworld. .) If your looking for equipment, and want to make an investment, theres an exercise bike for the arms that we have at our gym (we have a ton of equipment for wheelchair users, but…
  • A Friday of orange vodka and diet ginger ales, 12 shots, and for some reason, I'm up at 5:45, thisrsty as hell, but with no hangover. I think someone stole a few of my drinks or something, this just isn't right! These new diet mt. dew flavors are amazing, they're just crying out to be mixed with something. maybie…
  • Dunno, it might be bad if your top 2 things are alcohol, but we're in the same boat, mine are Smirnoff rasberrry (witch I use for all the flavored smirnoffs, since its the only one listed on MFP) and bud lite. Already had me 3 shots, and happy cinco de mayo, though I'll have to save the real celibrating for tom. night, run…
  • Yes, the coolers, nice for mowing the lawn, can't exactly stand out there with a lawnmower and a shot glass... Depending on the scorce (sp) regular coolers have about 200 or so calories (give or take). The light ones have 110. 5 calorie vodka would have my poor liver in tears...
  • A quarter as well, though it doesn't show, you should see my mom! I think it counts, at least on cinco de mayo!
  • GOOD GOD!!! I have always kept my diary super private because I was kinda ashamed of the alcohol on there... Apparently, I'm not the only one who hasn't quit while trying to lose weight! (though I did trade the beers in for vodka, and I'm very sad that I can't seem to find Smirnoff light anywhere since we moved). Trying to…
  • start weight- 170 week 1- 169 hmm... had grab and go sushi for lunch today from the commisary before I knew what the challenge was. Upside, I did abs and arms at the gym this morning--Does this make me half psychic? Hmm. Half psychic... "I forsee much weight loss and sucess in your future. And a llama, theres definately a…
  • wow, awsome tats, both! butterflys *might* need touch up, but don't forget that when they age, they'll be more even-looking in appearance, trust me. and to Ash..ever seen an albino peacock? pics are amazing if ya google
  • maybie this will work... wow..2nd is huge..well w/e, since its the one that is the challenge, L shoulder is my 911 tat, got it recolored recently so that my new one wouldn't make it look ghetto...
  • hmm.. don't know how to get pics up here... Photos are in my profile, if anyone knows how to get em up, I'll show 'em off, and give kudos (and a friend invite, for sure) to anyone who knows what the one on my right shoulder means lol
  • screwed up a bit last week, still stuggling with the water, and I was so sore from my am PT that Sat I didn't work out. (Why, exactly, did we run 7+ miles 3 days in a row?!?) Still plateaued (sp), been stuck abound the same 5 lbs for 6 weeks... Looking forward to this weeks challenge!
  • So I made both weight and tape today! (I am in the Army, so this is a BIG deal, I've been a fat kid since Feb.) SOOO I made the mistake of celibrating with chinese take out, something I've been craving for months. Now my tummy hurts, bad :grumble: and my husband (the diabetic) has 3/4 of a container of lo mein that I'm…
  • This happens to me, too, and alot of the other females in my platoon on morning runs--seems to be just us females breaking for the port-o-johns... If anyone knows why, or how to stop it, that would be great! Also, does this happen to guys? I've yet to see it...
  • Totally agree with the first response, a walk/run cycle can be a good way to improve both speed and distance. For me, that 10-12 minute "I want to die" thing has never gone away. The only thing that gets me through it is that experience has taught me that once I get past that, I can run just about forever, at my pace. Good…
  • There's alot to be said for "eat it or starve" I'll admit. I raised my oldest son this way, he will now happily eat his shoes or the roofing shingles (this may be a side effect of puberty?) Basicly anything, in other words. That said, it can work wonders with a normal child. My sister in law and I both have childern with…
  • Well, exercize goal met, no problem, working on the water, I'm at 4 glasses so far, but haven't had time to update since work. I've never done a challenge, so I'm wondering how to keep track of this, and if it will just be one horribly long thread? I'm already lost, there's so many pages :noway: ! I love the bracelet idea!…
  • sounds like fun to me
  • Ya know... Google isn't giving me a good answer except that as estrogen levels decrease, fat depisits shift in location and head more to the waist, witch would affect a body fat analisis done with tape at home the way most people can track it on a regular basis. It's a VERY inaccurate thing, especially the one we use in…

  • Cookies..and brownies...and CHOCOLATE CHIP BANANA BREAD!!! 2 of my Sgt's are having bake offs, and I think I'm going to die every Monday morning.... :explode:
  • Theres a ton f threads on this. Basicly, MFP already has you at a deficit, and your body needs a certian amount of base calories to function. Exercise takes away from that calorie count. So since the calirie deficit is built in, if you don't "eat them back" you could well end up with too few calories to sustain healthy…
  • I see HUGE change. Its always hard to see it in yourself. Trust the rest of us that you've made amazing progress :glasses: bask in it, you've earned it!!
  • I like to mix it up, cardio 4 days and sit ups push ups ect on the others, though I gave up logging strength training since it counts for no calories. I like to mix the cardio up a bit, different types (when I can) and different lengths. B/C of my job, I don't get to pick my workouts often, and we have a real focus on…
