I agree. If you want to lose weight, you have to cut calories. Cutting carbs would be for other reasons (like if your doctor has recommended it or if you find that carbs trigger cravings for you). I find it helpful to increase my protein, not because it aids in my weight loss by itself, but it helps fend off the HANGRY…

I am having the same issues following the Apple Watch update. I'm having a hard time re-linking it, though...... Frustrating!

Yay!!!! So glad you're feeling like it's working for you. :)

I just saw your progress pictures--way to go!!! I love how you took those so you can really see the shrinking you. You look fabulous!

Congrats on the weight loss!!! I also have lost a lot of weight on WW, but way back on their original points plan. That was much more consistent on the calories than their newer P+ plans, which as you say try to drive more towards "clean eating". I actually gained on the original P+ plan because I tend to eat pretty…

Oh my goodness! I just laughed out loud at "sloshy-filled bilge"!!!! I know EXACTLY what you mean by that--proof that you can definitely drink too much water. Overall, I think that everyone has given really good advice that really boils down to "know yourself". What makes one person hungry will make another person feel…

Thanks for checking back in @awkwardbae! Let us know what ends up working for you. Good luck!

Awesome job!!!! You've lost a whole person!!! That is quite the accomplishment. You do look fabulous and you can tell that you work out a lot. Cheers to you!!!!!!!

I like to weigh myself every day, but use an app (Happy Scale) that averages out the weight over time. Weight can fluctuate wildly, especially when you first start working out. I've had my weight go up by 2 lbs overnight after having too much sodium or starting a new weight lifting program. Using the average as my "real"…

@jemhh has given you really good advice for finding your weight loss and maintenance calories. Part of your question, though, seems to be how to keep with weight loss calories without wanting to stab and eat everyone who walks by. ;) I have two tips that will (hopefully) help with that.* Manage your expectations. You are…

That looks delicious!!!! I have to try that. I agree with the poster that no one eats green salads (not even health conscious people) at parties. With that said, the other suggestions are great. Fruit salads, grilled fruit and veggies and caprese-style salads (tomato, mozzerella, vinegar & evoo) are all good options that…

The plain Greek yogurt is a good recommendation. Also, low fat sour cream and low fat cream cheese both work well to make soups creamy without adding a lot of fat/calories (not sure how they would be in sauces since I don't generally make creamy sauces). Finally, I like to use the creamy salad dressings made by Bolthouse…

I weigh daily and enter my weight into Happy Scale, which provides a running average. Then, I enter that average weight into MFP. I like this method because it really allows me to see if I'm trending up or down over time and it also accounts for the daily fluctuations (I can fluctuate by several pounds day to day depending…

Well, you don't know EXACTLY how much you're burning unless you're hooked up to complicated and expensive medical machinery, but you can get a pretty good estimate by using multiple sources of information. I recommend doing some research (there are places with estimates of burns based on your factors for different…
-
That's not the same as a fitness tracker that measures your heart rate. MFP is notorious for over estimating calorie burns. You're likely burning less than half what MFP tells you you are. Just eat back half your MFP calories. I didn't look at your diary, but someone else mentioned that you have a lot sweets. Try focusing…

How do you know what you're burning? If you're confident you're burning that much, then you're definitely not eating enough. However, those estimated calorie burns seem really high.... If they come from MFP (or any other online calculator), then most people recommend eating half of them back. Using that formula, you should…

I wouldn't recommend adding more carbs besides lower carb veggies--you already have a lot of carbs on your list and they don't tend to be as filling! I prefer using the oatmeal from the tub and just using the fruit as a sweetener (and maybe a touch of splenda or other controled sweetener). A trick I learned from Hungry…

Also, are you sure you're eating enough for your workout levels? Sometimes, you're hungry because you legitimately need more food!

There are so many factors that impact hunger! I think it really comes down to individual differences and I would encourage you experiment to find what works for you. Some ideas of places to experiment include: Play with the timing of when and what you eat. For some people, eating throughout the day staves off hunger; for…

Yes! I had a similar experience with the difference between "at work" (when it did work for me) and the regular ones (not as good). Also, I think the weekly weigh ins would end up encouraging a lot of unhealthy habits to try to make weigh in, like starving the day before and trying to shed water weight as if we were boxers…

I lost 35 pounds on WW old, old program (Points) and I maintained that loss for several years as a lifetime member. On this program, points were pretty easy to estimate (you could do it yourself) and were based only on fat (penalized), calories (penalized), and fiber (rewarded). Most times, the points/calories ratio ended…

Oh my goodness! That's insane. I always just enter and search for the ingredients. I agree the new system is a pain and I liked the old one much better.
-
I also have the sport and it gets sweaty, but I usually just put it one notch tighter while I'm working out and that seems to work.
-
So true! It's also interesting how some people tend to gain under stress and some tend to lose....I'm a gainer! While I've always been jealous of losers, but your post made me realize that neither is healthy.

@middlehaitch You beat me too it! I just clicked over to get the link to recommend that group. It's a great community of fun sized ladies.

Like Nike says "Just do it!". It's odd but if you force yourself to exercise and do the things you need to do, even when you don't feel like it, you will eventually build up your energy. If working out is "what needs to be done", start small and build up. Don't jump right into training for a marathon, start with a 20…

Hi @_Sheesh_ ! Check out the petites group listed in the thread above. There are quite a few of us in that group that maintain at a higher weight. Best!

@segacs if you do end up looking for help with the petites group, I'm happy help out. It's my new favorite MFP spot.

I don't mind the Quest bars, but I also like the Luna Protein bars (which I just saw are made by the same company as Clif) for a quick pick me up for less calories than the Quest (which feels more like a meal replacement than a snack calorie-wise). I think that Clif bars have MUCH better taste but they also have much less…

I am also not one of the low weight petites, currently at 137 (which I'm quite happy with), but aiming to still lose about 10 lbs (my all time low was 122, but that was hard to maintain and felt a bit too skinny). I couldn't imagine being less than 110, as many on this forum are. I had bones sticking out at 122!…
