  • Thats wonderful :)
  • Big difference! Well done, you are looking great (and happy).
  • Thats sad after the anticipated wait for it. Other than a bit of problem with exaggerated arm swing mine is pretty accuarate step wise. I hope you find a good one that fits your needs better
  • I can't help with that one, sorry.
  • I am so sorry to hear this - I can understand your disappointment. I just paired my to my computer with the ant - and then it just started counting from there. Only the occasional miscount - but I am basically happy with the unit. On the connect site (under the help tab) there is a garmin forum that may be able to assist…
  • I suppose it does make sense - your male vivo goes looking for a female hrm - where do you think little vivofits come from?
  • YUM! Sounds good.
  • Welcome Ellen - glad you found us. Hopefully garmin and mfp will get together sooner rather than later. But it will give you time to become familiar with your vivofit first
  • Thank you, I trust your figures more than the ones I have read over time (on different weight loss sites) - owing to your love of numbers i imagine you have researched them  When time allows I will cross check your numbers with my vivofit and hrm - I would guess that those figures are for average fitness people of…
  • Welcome airangel - damn I just read about your red line and checked my own, yeah, its showing again. Looks like I have to put my browsing on hold and move a bit. If you have any questions, feel free to ask - we were all new once and remember the confusion of trying to work out the different areas.
  • I was also surprised with the results. I immediately decided to redo them in a more controlled environment (I was using a meandering walkway around a lake, lots of people, dogs, and bikes). Ideally I would like a 1klm, straight, flat, paved area - preferably a bit private (so I dont look like an idiot marching up and down…
  • I did a similar test today only with walking. I mapped a 2.5klm course and walked it 4 times. Brisk walk no hrm - 85 calories Brisk walk with hrm - 136 calories Normal walk no hrm - 98 Normal walk with hrm - 146 I KNOW vivofit underestimates my distance (have measured it numerous times) - it looks like they also…
  • Thanks again fyoung - you are a welcome font of wisdom :drinker: I have the HRM1. My first confusion was taking my resting heart rate with hubby's blood pressure machine - it gave a reading of 62 (which I thought was a bit low for an unfit, slightly overweight, middle age, short female [thank heavens I am not blonde or…

  • On your dashboard page in the reports section - hit the cog in the right hand corner - select full page option - then total calories in the left hand side menu. :)
  • Yes it does help thanks. Originally I thought there was something wrong with the equipment - only reading intermittently or something. Then I thought I had fitted it wrong - too high/low on the chest, not enough moisture to make a good connection (its my first hrm, I had NO idea). Eventually I gave up trying to understand…

  • You can manually add an activity. Connect (Activities) will give you a blank form - just add data in the appropriate boxes and save.
  •      Great news - I remember the feeling of waiting weeks for it to be released in Aus. I picked it up the first day it was in stock locally. I am sure you will find it worth the wait.:drinker:
  • Your right fyoung that link will not work for me now either (I did test it at the time and it was ok) Hmmm I just tested it for a second time and it worked  This is the drop down menu that appears when I click the 3 bars in my top left corner (modern) - Is yours different? Activities Badges Challenges Connections…
  • I could not find it on the new garmin connect either - but I did locate it on the old one, http://connect.garmin.com/group/search/
  • http://connect.garmin.com/group/search/ This will connect you to the old garmin site which will allow you to search for groups. I still cant find a similar spot on the new garmin connect.
  • Jen - has your unit turned up yet? Any news on the holdup? Laura - what is you opinion now that you have been using your vivofit for a while? Does it make a difference to your daily routine? I am happy with my selection of the vivofit - it has made a huge difference to my daily exercise. I no longer sit and read for 3…
  • I did read in a blurb somewhere that the communication in groups is for exercise and fitness communication, not for the unending twitter of daily living. But I believe some social communication would be useful in building a strong group.
  • Sorry about the delay but I am busy veging out on a beach for a week or so. I have sent a friends request but I also am having problems finding groups on the new garmin connect (I found it on the old garmin connect site). If it is an open group (as opposed to 'invitation only') you can just click join and be in,…
  • I bought mine with the hrm. It is the first one I have ever used. I know when I am wearing it - but I would not say it is uncomfortable - more like just a soft pressure. The elastic backstrap is soft, the clasp is easy, and all corners are softly rounded. I imagine in a few weeks I wont even notice it at all.
  • Both sweet plans. I sometimes think mfp has as many number crunching lovers than weight loss people. (PS I am also a number cruncher)
  • Ahhhh thank you. I did miss that completely :flowerforyou:
  • New step thing on MFP? I think I must have missed it. Could you tell me more about it?
  • Aldi (Australia) has a 9 grain bread that is 87 calories per slice. Not terribly low but it is a good size, filling and tastes good. Plus being grain bread it is considered healthier than a basic white loaf.
  • Hi Marylee, glad you found us :drinker:
  • I do a lot of travelling so the 12 month battery life was the winning point for me. Nothing worse than being caught out with a flat battery, no where to charge it and lose 20k of steps :(
