LOL! I bet you heard that on Facebook, where everything you read is true! *sarcasm* No, he did not die of a heart attack. He slipped and fell on the ice while walking to work.

You are adorable and look great! That's a fantastic idea. I've been maintaining for a while, and I forgot what it feels like to be 60-something pounds heavier!
-
That's quite a transformation! Just from doing Zumba? You look great.
-
Good for you! I can't wait for you share your results!

There are forums on here with all sorts of recipes and advice. I think one of the reasons that people find it so hard to maintain on Atkins, is that they get bored with the food choices. I'm fortunate to have a husband who loves to cook, and likes to experiment with new recipes, so I have a huge variety of meals to choose…

Actually, I think I've figured out what's going on here. Acg67, who I will just call Ace from now on, fancies himself our savior. He must believe that we've all been led astray by the False Prophets of Nutrition and Diet, Dr. Atkins, Dr. Cordain, Dr. Sears, Taubes and their ilk. We need a'saving, and ole Ace is gonna save…

Love your before/after pics! When did you start and are you doing low-carb only, or is that a result of cardio exercise or weights? Combination? Great job!

@msitarilde...he's not a "troll"...he's just a "run of the mill goblin". For OP, and others, you are experiencing something called the Carb Flu. When you cut your sugar and carb intake drastically, you will get headaches, fatigue, and sometimes achy legs. Drink lots of water, take your multi-vitamins, take some Excedrin.…

There are so many other factors in play besides calories in/calories out. And people are uneducated about the Atkins diet. It is not "no carb, all protein". It is all about getting rid of sugars and unhealthy carbs that effect how your body converts food into fat or energy. I get tired of defending it. I always say, "Do…

What is the Zumba Sentao? My instructor (the best in northern Colorado ;^P) is certified in toning, zumbatomic, aqua and gold. And now I'm hearing about Sentao...? She just added some toning/ab exercises to class Monday night (it was optional to stay), so maybe it has to do with core strengthening? I'll ask her tonight.…

That's so encouraging! Good for her!

I'd like to know if anyone has had results from the Zumba Ab/Core one? My Zumba instructor cater's to the class, as far as the moves go. If it's a new song, she breaks down the moves before we start. If there are beginner's she'll do the low-intensity version of steps, but she'll show the advanced people the high-energy…

I have Zumba for the Wii. I like it, but I think most people who go to a class and do it, find the classes so much more fun. It really is like a big, sweaty dance party! My New Year's resolution is to continue going to my Zumba classes, but supplement with my Wii Zumba and Just Dance.

What kind of low carb diet did your doctor put you on? How many net carbs are you allowed per day?
-
I think you'll be fine, if you just eat them in moderation. Most people subtract fiber out of the carbs, to get the net carb count.
-
-
Good job! Here's what I just had for lunch: a grilled chicken breast on a bed of lettuce, broccoli and a sprinkling of cheese, topped with fresh avocado and ranch dressing. nom nom nom! 5 net carbs.
-
Cool. I stand corrected. #keepsanopenmind
-
Agreed!

I would really recommend reading the book, to really follow Atkins correctly. In a nutshell, for the first two weeks, you can eat 20 net carbs a day (net carbs being total carbs minus fiber). 12 of those carbs should come from vegetables. You can eat lean protein, eggs, cheese, and good fats like avocado's and olive oil.…

Who is eating 3000 calories of beef? That's a bit extreme.
-
I would not be wrong, it's both protein and fat.

I'd like to find her on Facebook. Can you tell me her name?

Why is it hard for you to understand? It's a mindset. I also tried Weight Watcher's several times. I tried counting calories. The Zone. The Curves diet. I also tried to quit smoking 8 or 9 times, before I finally dropped the habit cold turkey. (Haven't smoked a cigarette in 6 years now). It's all a matter of mindset and a…

I've never had a problem with the bars, but I do notice that if I eat too many nuts or too much peanut butter, I tend to stall. I eat one bar a day, as a reward for my hard work.
-
I don't understand it, either. I guess people are just afraid of things they don't understand. You rarely see a low-carber going and critiquing someone who's posting about their Weight Watcher's diet. O_O
-
I guess, in the end, it's all about what works best for you! Congrats!
-
Yay! Good luck!

I think it's the fat that satiates. Low fat = no bueno.
