I have sine increased my cals since starting with MFP. I first went up to 1750 and that week lost 3.4, not sure if it was a coincidence and now I am at 1914. Which seems to be right for me. Last week I lost 2.2. Right now my cals are set at a 500 cal def so that any exercise I do is above and beyond that! Some days I have…

Great link, thanks!

I guess if I performed my sets with rest in between like I noramlly do then I would not even had bothered to keep track. B ut I performed it as a circuit, like Jillian Michaels 30 day shred. So for example I started with 45 sec of abs, 12 reps of biceps, 12 reps of triceps, back to the abs till I performed 3 sets of each…

I am taking a regular kickbox class tomorrow at the gym. I have a hrm so i will let you know what I burn!

Thanks! That is great info! I will check out atkins. I have hit a wall with weight loss and my trainer suggested no or low carbs after 3pm! I figure I will try it! What is one week!

Thanks everyone. The first 60lbs came off just by exercising and watching what I ate! I love logging and I think I am doing everything correct. But I am not losing, that is obviously the frustrating part! Anyone want to check my food log and offer insight it would be greatly appreciated!

I think I am getting too wrapped up in the numbers. I think that is what is driving me crazy. I think I may a may take a week off of counting. I am not going to over indulge. I will still watch my portions and eat healthy, but I think I may need a break!

is there a particular site you like to use as a guideline to calculate your calorie intake?
-
Yes I think I will invest in one. I am also curious how much I burn during a class such as zumba. I never do less than 30 mins of cardio and at least 2 days a week I take a 60 min zumba class. I had heard somewhere and cannot remember where that you should do 8 mins of warm up, strength training and then your cardio…

I went through this too. 1200 was too little for me, I changed it to 1750 and that first week I lost 3.4 but this week I lost nothing. Buts that okay, I guess it is all trial and error, better losing nothing than gaining :) What sites do you find the best to calculate how many cals you need to maintain your weight? There…

i usually do the arc trainer for 33 minutes burn 400 calories. I am 32 and my heart rate normally stays in the 175-180 range. I also do classes as well, such as zumba or kickboxing and the classes are 60 mins. I work out 6 days a week and always do cardio. I think I may get a heart rate monitor just to be sure everything…

I think MFP puts alot of people at 1200, I was one of them and that was not enough for me not even adding in my exercise cals. I am 5'8" and at the time 176. I did some reasearch and other sites and a nutrionist told me that was too low for me. You will have to tweak it for your particular body, MFP is only a computer…

The most important thing is your realized your funk and you snapped out of it!! You should feel great about yourself!

This is great! It is nice to hear what other people do and get some ideas! I haven't been to get to classes in a week since the playroom for the kids flooded! So once that opens up I am back to my classes, I get so bored so quick on cardio machines! I just need a better strength training workout!!

I did not gain at all. I believe I started on a Thursday and I weighed myself that Monday and lost 1.2 then weigh myself Friday since that is my normal weigh in day and I lost 2.2 more!!! My exercise stayed the same and well actually since my son was sick I missed 2 days of the gym....

It worked for me. I went from 1200 to 1750 and I lost 3.4 in one week! Based upon my height and weight the 1200 was WAY to low! I did not however eat my exercise calories and didn't want them either!
-
Great job!! It is an amazing moment, isn't it!!! I can't wait for my next shopping trip, that is where I am hoping to be and I am a 12 now!
-
thanks for all the great advice. I moved up the calories to 1750, not including my exercise cals. Which I don't plan on using unless I really need them. By also doing this I can have more at the 3 major meals, instead of more low cal snacks through out the day. I am hoping this will fill me up more!

I have a friend that is an instructor and she says between 600-800 cals! Hope this helps. I also log it under high impact aerobics!
-
these are great and even my kids like them!
-
I agree, eat them! I also was following the biggest loser online diet and it did not add your calories burned back in and had me at a 1200 cal diet (which based upon a professionals . For the past 2 weeks I actually gained 3 lbs! So I came back to MFP and I am eager to step on the scale Friday! Not sure when I was ever…

Thanks for all the input! I don't use the meal plans at all on there but it does give me some ideas and I like the recipes too. I hope the books are worth it!
-
That is great! I am not a jogger either so I know where you are coming from! Keep it up!
-
Thanks for posting this! I did fat burner yesterday and cardio today and was wondering the difference in the cals burned! But that makes sense!

Thanks for the great advice! I love it BrattyLori, that is a great way to look at it! I have an appt with a nutrionist so that I can stay on target! Maybe I will up my cardio by 10-15 minutes when I can. I am not sure about no carbs lol, maybe low carbs!
