Im a medical student and worked in a health store that sold supplements for a while Most supplements you do not need and will easily get from your diet. The only ones i would recommend are: - of course, the iron (assuming you are deficient/anaemic) - in which case do not take it an hour either side of drinking green tea or…

Twice a day Strength and conditioning in the morning (ie about an hour of weights) 2ish hours of skill training for martial arts in the evening (except Sundays when my dojo is closed)

I second that. Get off the Herbalife. From a medical view point (i and other colleagues) they are not what they claim to be and often dangerous.

There is no reason why macros would be different for a vegan than a non vegan. I say this as someone who has been vegan since they are little and training for a little over a year High fiber foods = leafy green vegetables Protein = i eat tofu and pea protein shakes (supplemented with leucine). But there are a tonne of…

I too cannot eat dairy or gluten, and theres a tonne of things to keep you full! High fiber, green leafy veggies are very filling. I also find pea protein shakes to keep me full for hours! Peanut butter is another one, as well as tofu. Basically anything high in fiber and protein will keep you feeling full

Ive been vegan for ages and have around 200g of protein a day. I use pea protein and flavour it with a bit of stevia. That with almond milk is pretty great! I add some leucine to the protein powder to to make sure i get the full range of BCAAs. I also eat tofu to round it all out. Getting enough protein is most definitely…

I eat zero carb (or technically 2g a day since it just comes with the tofu i eat)

I have an absolute tonne of allergies (including the ones you have) so feel free to add me if you want any support/advice There are many many options out there for gluten free now since people think its some miraculous way to lose weight (for once fad diets have a benefit) and many lactose free or non dairy alternatives. I…

No, its much more than just having an effect on your hunger levels. Yes it does effect hunger levels in different ways (ie different effect on ghrelin and leptin) but the physiological response to different types of food is different. They can affect insulin, glucagon, leptin, ghrelin, and a whole range of other hormones…

Oh, and i do have supplements for quite a number of micronutrients - eg vit B, iron, calcium, folate, magnesium, copper, zinc etc

The idea to look into ethnic cuisines is quite a good idea, so thanks for that. It will probably take a bit of research but may be at least one area to investigate. I think someone covered it but yes i can eat tofu. The main problem with soy sauce (which is quite often in a lot of types of tofu so i have to check) is that,…

In response to a few other questions - i tried taking digestive enzymes in the past but they exacerbated several other problems so it was decided that they couldnt be continued I am extremely sensitive to gluten, which is incredibly annoying as i was originally hoping i could get away with little bits of it or even oats,…

Thanks Shaumom for being so helpful and understanding of my situation. I think its one that is so strange and unique that those who dont have similar experiences often struggle to understand it, so i greatly appreciate your words and advice

I do actually have a dietician, although i am grateful for the recommendation. Even they were at a bit of a loss though as to how much of a variety i can truly have. Yes, i am vegan, but since then i have found i cannot actually eat meat/dairy/eggs anyway so i thought it was easier to write them like that than just have…

They are very low in sodium, only about 20mg per packet i think. And yeah, they were, for the last week, the majority of my diet besides breakfast and a light soup at dinner It is very confusing

I call troll All your writing is hard to read too since a lot of the english is quite off :/

This is a load of crap. It doesnt have to be Im vegan and have been since i was about 12 years old. 30% of my diet is from fat. 25% is from protein. You just have the get the right mix of foods Theres no need to go low carb, but it doesnt have to be 80% of your diet I should also mention that i have a tonne of allergies -…

May i ask what exactly makes you qualified to give advice or information on body building?

Keep in mind, though, that too much vitamin A is a completely different thing, but i still dont think you are at risk of this

This has actually happened to me twice, but from eating too much pumpkin. I really wouldnt be worried if i were you. You have to have a HUGE amount of it, and the leaves you are describing arent enough to cause it to occur. I was eating multiple kg of pumpkin everyday (it was all i could eat at the time due to illness) and…

Im going to say this outright from the start - this is something you need to discuss with your doctor, not random people on the internet. Dont base your health and the health of your child on people that may or may not know what they are talking about :) I dont mean that in a cruel way, i just wish you and your unborn baby…

I am vegan and LOVE IT! I have been for years and honestly couldnt imagine life any other way :)

It could be a number of things Sometimes its that you are having a mild reaction to one of the ingredients in it, often things like corn/maize if they are corn chips, or some of the spicy flavourings, it can be the high salt in the chips, the type of oil/fat used on them, if they have a high fat content it can slow gastric…

I make my own protein balls that are dairy free and a lot cheaper than buying bars, especially the quest one (no offence to Quest, but on a uni budget they would be out of my league even if they didnt contain heaps of things im allergic to) The recipe can be found here: http://superallergyfood.blogspot.com.au/

Dont Quest bars have whey protein in them? I thought whey protein often had lactose in it?
