yes, I'm roughly 60lbs over weight and it feels like hell running 9 miles lugging around an extra 60lbs. I'll take losing 50lbs. maybe I could run 13 miles three times a week.

for a 15K I usually don't have anything and refuel one hour into it (it takes me 2 hours to run a 15K) if I'm going to run a half I'll have a GU gel and refuel once every hour. but I haven't run a 15K in the morning for a long time. but I usually eat all day a couple of banana's and a meal replacement shake.

how far or for how long were you able to run when you did previously?

i have only ever run in Nike LunarGlide 5. since they are now discontinued, I will look into Lunarglide 6. But just as important as shoes is socks. I run in R-gear from road runner sports and also have Balega and feetures.

I did a run streak last year for 127days and it was great. but now I'm utilizing my rest days to recover because i want to run long and longer.

mine is Eric DeCastro

DJ khaled- ALL I DO IS WIN it came on my 8th mile last night and pushed me through to 9 miles.

I wish there was a like button. =)

if i have time, i try and get fuel in before I run, apple or banana or GU gel. I don't think running fasting helps me lose weight any faster.
-
i run 5-9 miles with anywhere from 150calories to 300 calories. I guess i'm just used to it. but on a 9mile or longer run half way through, i refuel with GU gel or shot bloks.

there comes a point in your mind where stopping sounds good. don't listen. if you aren't hurting keep going. you can do this.

I'm obese and I run 5 miles three times a week. I recently added running 9miles one or two times a week and the rest 5miles to run 5 days a week. I'm 5'6" 229lbs

I'm lucky that cold for us here in San Diego, CA is 60s so i can always get out for a run in the evening. just have to wear long sleeves.
-
i did a run streak last year of 127 days. it helped keep my weight down. I'm going to go for 3-4 times a week now. if not more.

runnin. there is nothing like the feeling you crushed a 5 mile run and even better when you kick it up to 10 miles.
-
i feel if you are worrying about what others are thinking about you while you are working out, you aren't working out hard enough.
-
exactly. I wanted to throw my garmin out the window yesterday.

was anyone having a hard time with garmin syncing to your computer? mine would not download the data I ended up deleting everything from my watch. UGH!!! so aggravating. that was 5 miles I didn't get credit for. lol.

I don't strength train and it's only because I don't want to join a gym. I know there are other things to do by using your body weight but I just don't want to do it. now from someone who doesn't strength train, it's a must to get thinner, slim down, get in shape. running will burn calories but you will be a skinny fat…

I ran 127 days straight for my run streak. I'm going to start adding more 1 mile runs to run almost everyday. but 1 mile a day is fine (off days) my schedule is 5 miles on Mon, Wed, and Fridays(sometimes 10 on Fridays). Tues, Thurs and sat will be 1 mile runs and maybe rest Sunday.

anything is doable. I started running (walking) Nov. 2012 and ran my first 5K Jan 2013. Nov 16th, I ran a half marathon. you just have to train hard and keep at it. you can do it. just believe in yourself and trust your training.

I have a brand in the box new soleus flash I can sell you for under msrp. I just don't use it, I have a garmin with a heart rate monitor which i don't even look at my calories burned anymore. so i might not even wear the chest strap anymore.

I don't get cramps but my calf muscle tighten up alot esp since there is a hill right when I start out my door, but when i warm up my calves loosen up. eat a lot of banana's and almonds and drink lots of water. I'm planning on a 10 miler today after work and ate three bananas and been drinking a lot of water already. I'll…

nothing to be embarrassed about. I'm not a veteran but seasoned runners love seeing new runners. so get outside and inspire people to get out and run too.

when I run 5 miles or less my pace is about 10-11:30 when i run 10+ it's 12:30-13:30 not science, I just seem to run slower when I run longer. I guess mentally I'm saving energy for the long haul. even those numbers are kinda skewed because I stop at stop lights and my pace will go to like 20+ min/mile because I'm standing…

have you been training for a 10K out on the road? You won't die, but you might feel like it. you will do fine, just stop at all the aid stations to catch your breath. I'm running a 10K oct 26 and a half marathon nov 16. good luck on your run.

about 1.5 hours. I do this 4 times a week, and 1 hour one day a week, the last two days it's like 10 min each. oh and I don't do any other exercise but running.

need to see a specialist. most family Doctors won't be able to tell you anything helpful when it comes to knee pains. I had/ have knee pains and it started because i was over weight. I actually am still over weight, so when I lose about 20 more lbs my knee problems should go away permanently. Mine were really bad before…

November 2013 I could only run for like 20secs at a time ok maybe once and call it a day. last week I ran a 15K and still ran back and forth going back to pick up a friend who had fallen behind a few times. so yes, it takes time and patience and most of all hard work. no way around it. just keep at it. I'm now shopping for…
