I've lost nearly 50lbs and still some people seem not to have noticed. I think when they see us on a regular basis, it's more difficult to notice gradual changes. If I run into people I haven't seen in a while, they always seem to notice. . . but probably not until I had lost about 20-25lbs. If you're still in the same…

Yup. I'm planning on crushing several oreos into some greek yogurt later tonight. YUM!! The key to sticking to a "diet" is to make some changes to your lifestyle forever. Teach yourself how to eat just a little bit, or just a normal amount of the things you love. Plan them into your calories, don't make them extra…

With the amount of alcohol in them and the sugar content (while reportedly less than other similar products, it should still be relatively high) I'm guessing 400cals is about right. A similar amount of wine around 17% alcohol would come in close to 350cals and would probably have less sugar. . . I'm not an expert, but it…

Miss, this is the internet. These things happen. It's why my picture is cupcakes instead of me.Now I get messages from creeper far less frequently. Your best bet is not responding to the messages. Ignore the attention if you don't want it. If you respond, the person looking for your attention is getting your attention.…

I'm eating 2300 and losing. I'm only about 148 right now, but I'm very active. The heavier you are, the more your body uses to fuel itself and keep itself up and running. If you eat too many calories under what your body needs to stay where it is, you end up hungry and it's more difficult to stay on track. Personally, when…

Looks awesome. I'm trying it.

If you're looking to build muscle, it won't happen if you're eating at a deficit. Eating at a deficit can help you lose fat (AND lose muscle if your deficit is too large and you're losing weight quickly). You can't build anything while you're losing. You will have to eat more calories and lift stuff to build muscle.…

Keep in mind that "fat" doesn't cause us to gain weight and get fat, excessive calories from ANY source cause us to gain weight. But if you're having trouble fitting a 400 calories cupcake with frosting into your day, check this out: http://thesveltegourmet.blogspot.com/2010/11/a-maz-ing-100-calorie-cupcake.html I've made…

I went to put on a pajama tank top that I haven't worn since last summer and it hung on me like a dress. Oops! My boyfriend though it was hilarious. I REALLY didn't realize quite how big I was before I started MFP. HOLY WOW.

I'm actually eating at what my maintenance will be for my goal weight (130). I am never starving and this is so easy. I am simply teaching myself how I should be eating and focusing on that instead of focusing on trying to lose the weight as fast as possible. I've been losing since October/November and at this rate, I…

I usually mix peanut butter and honey into mine, this sounds much lower cal! I'm getting pretty bored with the same thing over and over. Can't wait to switch things up and try it out. Thanks a bunch!!

Click on my picture, go to my profile and read the "about me." Those are my tips. :]

I absolutely agree. I'm around 150 right now and I have people telling me that I'm getting too skinny, my bones are sticking out (sorry I don't store weight in my abdomen and you could already see my ribs at 170?), and asking me if I'm eating enough. I am still about 10-15lbs overweight! I have very few people in my life…

I am grateful for the emergency vet that is close where I took my rabbit at midnight. I am grateful that my rabbit likes the nutrient dense food I have to syringe feed him instead of having to literally force feed him and I am grateful that the antibiotic combo he is on seems to be working faster than the vet expected. I…

Because I work 8 hours a day and go to school for five hours a day. I spend almost two hours driving and the remainder of that time is sleeping, eating and studying. I do chores, babysit and visit family on weekends and finally have a couple of hours to relax on Sunday night. It's not something I'm willing to (or even…

If by nutrition goals you are referring to "macronutrients"; fat, protein and carbohydrate, then I aim to concentrate on meeting those goals. If you meet your macros and the foods you are logging have been entered into the system correctly, then you will also meet your calorie goal. I have been AWFUL at sticking to my…

It has taken me eight months to lose almost 50lbs. I was losing 2-3 per week at first, but after doing research realized that it's healthier and more sustainable to lose at a slower pace. So I set my goals so I would lose about a pound a week, and now I'm aiming for half pound each week until the last 10 or so come off.

As frustrating as it can be to drive 10mph behind a cyclist, I'm not about to endanger their lives. I can be patient. Though, the other day I was passing a kid on a bike (the law where I live says to give four feet of space to the cyclist, which I did) and he decided to take his hands off the handelbars and be "cool" or…

Are you weighing your food and logging your calories accurately? Even with cutting out foods, if you're still eating more than your body needs, you will not lose weight.

Thanks so much!!

I think this is a good idea, but it's more up to my boyfriend about the debt. I would also hate to bring up that there even IS a debt on his wedding day so I probably won't mention it unless he brings it up. It's not really to settle a score, it's just that I REALLY don't even have an extra $30 for something small and cute…

A couple of days here and there will not make you gain any permanent weight. I just do what feels comfortable when I'm sick.

I only counted it when I was off work with a broken foot and otherwise incredibly sedentary. I have my activity level set at very active because of my job and I don't log any exercise anymore. If I was going to the gym or doing anything extra outside of work I would though. I know a portion of people on here will log…

There are no wrong things unless you have a medical condition where you need to limit/reduce/eliminate certain foods. Eating cereal and pancakes for breakfast will not prevent you from losing weight. If those are the things you like, teach yourself how to enjoy them in moderation, log the calories accurately and stay…

I think your only confusion is that IIFYM means you can forgo planning your micronutrients. Most people I see on here promoting IIFYM also pay attention to their micronutrients. The reason you keep hearing so much about eating "junk" food is because you can. It is typically fats and carbs and can easily be fit into…

If you have no medical reason to limit salt, as long as you're not SUPER overdoing it, don't worry about it. But making homemade food is your best bet to limit sodium. You can control exactly how much you eat. Any pre-packaged, restaurant or frozen meals will be excessively salty.

Honestly, I practiced. I still sometimes go overboard and ruin my goal for that day, but I understand that the very second after I screw up, I can be right back on track. I stopped telling myself I'll do better "tomorrow" and started telling myself "Oops, I screwed up. Time to get back to it right now!" I actually have a…

My advice is to do what makes YOU happy and not to change yourself for somebody else, husband or otherwise. If he isn't happy with you at 95lbs, he won't be happy with you at any weight. There's a lot more to a relationship than appearance.

I have the same and every so often I notice them, but mostly I just notice how much healthier and beautiful I look. My boyfriend didn't notice them until I pointed them out and I don't think most people pay attention to the little details that we scrutinize on our own bodies. Personally, I'd rather be fit and be able to…

I notice the opposite. Perhaps having heard that info, there is a plecebo effect?
