I gained less weight on a low estrogen pill, but I'm someone who gains *very* easily, so YMMV. At this point, I refuse to mess with hormonal birth control, but I'm done having children and have had a tubal so I don't need it for that reason. My cycles are regular, but I have really awful god-awful cramping and fatigue that…

In addition to the other suggestions, I like Biofreeze. It's a bit like Ben-gay but without the smell and is popular with trainers and physical therapists. Some gyms sell it, but you can find it on Amazon.

My answers were definitely all for P90X.

That's hilarious and horrifying at the same time.

That sounds like my FIL, although he buys random crap that he found at a local lower-end department store. He doesn't seem to get that 5 Hawai'ian shirts for $3 is not a deal when they're so ugly that no one would ever wear them. Other weird/creepy gifts: At my bridal shower, my MIL gave me a see-through black negligee,…

My MIL does her Christmas shopping in the trial size aisle of CVS. Shaving creams, razors, shower gels, deodorant...you name it. Breath mints too. A big old bag of it. Ironically, she's got the worst b.o. of anyone I've ever met and her breath could take paint off the wall. She also buys clothes that are several sizes too…

>>1. On average, how long is the daily workout routine? What is the range of time per day spent on P90 (shortest workout to longest workout)? The average workout is an hour. The shortest workout is Cardio X, which is 45 minutes. The longest is Yoga X, which is 90 minutes. >>2. Are there any rest days in the program? Should…

I miss Body Pump sooooo much. It was my favorite class at the gym, but the gym got too expensive. Grumble grumble. (But it's also why I knew that even though I'm overweight, I could handle P90X.)

I think that Kenpo can be about strength, in that you need to keep your abs and core engaged, etc, to really get the most out of it. It definitely requires more coordination than several of the workouts and it's more intense than Cardio X (in part because it's longer)...especially if you've never done any sort of martial…

On day 7 of my first round of Lean and already feel tighter. It's tough as hell, but I like it. My plan is to do at least one more round, and possibly 2.

Mine's open for friends and I log everything, no matter what it is. It's not public, because frankly, while there are a lot of wonderful, supportive people on MFP, there are also some very rude, judgmental and sanctimonious people on this site. I can hold myself accountable. I don't need some rude busybody to lecture me…

I had a great experience working with a personal trainer. She was fantastic and worth the cost. I can't afford her right now, but if I had the cash, I'd got back in a heart beat.

Yes. And I've been fitted at one of those high-end bra boutiques, so I'm reasonably confident that it's not a matter of an ill-fitting bra. It was an issue shortly after my surgery, and was promised that it would go down once the swelling was gone, but it never did. It does seem a bit worse, so perhaps it's a mix of…

I though about trying it, but it got a bad review on Web MD: http://www.webmd.com/diet/features/dukan-diet-review The registered dietician I'm working with wasn't a fan either.

Low Fat Chicken Tikka Masala Sauce Ingredients: (enough for about 2 lbs. of chicken or turkey meat): 28 oz can of diced tomatoes 6 oz can of tomato paste (or 1 1/2 cup tomato puree as an alternate) 1 cup fat free plain Greek yogurt 1/2 cup chopped red onions 2 tbsp vegetable oil 2 tbsp fresh squeezed lemon juice (approx…

Bump. I'm going to have to try this recipe this week.

Thanks! I can pick up GMC's whey protein powder. Good to know it's not just some marketing scam designed to make you spend more. Can I ask...did anyone see really dramatic results? The after pix from the infomercials all look great, but it seems like a lot of the people weren't all that overweight to begin with...mostly…

Thanks! I'll have to hit our local sporting goods store for some 8 and 10 pound weights. I have resistance bands, but will need the door attachment. I may look at yoga blocks, depending on cost because I'm so not flexible. :)
-
Great job. Can I ask what you've been doing?

I prefer the game to the DVDs. I think the moves and cueing are easier/better. My one complaint is that the basic level is only 20 minutes.
-
You look amazing. I think I may need to start P90X myself. :)
-
Yummy yummy. I'm going to have to try this.

Cool! I'm making this for my husband for his birthday next week!

Mine's 19 months old, but count me in. I was really sick during my pregnancy and went a bit nuts postpartum on a "I can eat real food again!" binge. Which came back to bite me in the *kitten*. Hard. I've lost some of the damage, but am probably about 15-20 pounds away from where I was before baby.

Amazing job! You are absolute proof that it is possible to lose an enormous amount of weight if you work at it and don't give up.
-
You know, I've always noticed that when you do the math on the weight loss vs. time lapsed from the advertisements, these people really aren't losing any more than 1-2 lbs a week. And they're hypothetically working out and watching what they eat, so really it doesn't seem like the pills do a whole heck of a lot except…

I started last month, but fell out of it. I'd love to restart it with you!

Superstar...do you live in a dorm or in an off-campus apartment? Do you have a crock pot? I ask because I'm a grad student, and I've found that crock-pot recipes are much easier for busy schedules. Plus, you can cook a few days worth of food at a time if you don't mind a lot of leftovers. In the meantime - here's a Turkey…

One of my co-workers was dancing around as she re-shelved some things are our crummy retail job. (Can't wait to finish grad school!) Without thinking, the supervisor called out "E, are you dancing with your box?" I just about lost it, laughing in front of a couple of customers.

You look great!
