I skip the dressing and use salsa or hot sauce or a little sea salt and pepper

3 1/2 months and I've only started counting calories a month ago...up until then I basically just ate whatever I wanted within reason...controlled portions, no soda or junk food. G' luck to you! All of our journeys are so different!

meat and potatoes! and veggies from the garden. Lots of chilis, soups, chowders made from scratch. Lots of breakfast types of foods. They were probably the easiest given that we always had a house full of people to feed. Saturday was always donuts from the bakery. My dad was always the type to be on the go and making us…

I never have a 'rest day'. I will, however, take a 'cardio' day off and do a Jillian workout only and on Mondays I have a "Say No to Jillian Day' and only do an hour of cardio. If I get sore, I take it easy but never stop. It's worked great for me so far!

Polar FT7 I LOVE mine!

When I started the shred, I was about 200lbs, 5'5" with asthma and my HRM was always between 190-300. Hope that helps some.

Start a mommy fund! and save up to buy yourself a really great HRM. You are going to need to start eating those exercise calories and knowing those numbers are only going to benefit in the long run. I've lost 3-4 lbs a week now that I am eating those calories almost entirely back. Just a suggestion. G'luck to you! I'm sure…

I am 4 days away from finishing Level 4 of Jillians Ripped in 30 and thought I would go back to using her 30 Day Shred with 8lb weights. It'll be my 4th time going through it and planned on starting it on the 18th! I've lost over 30 inches already with Jillian and running and biking along with almost 40lbs (I think I will…

Well I have gotten into the habit of weighing myself at the same time everyday lately because I finally understand my weight fluctuations and they no longer 'freak' me out. One trend I do notice is the day before I see weight loss I will weigh a few lbs more. For example, I weighed myself on Sunday and was 177 my…

When I started out on the bike it hurt like heck for the first month and then one day I noticed that I went an entire hour with zero discomfort. I don't know if it's because my bum got used to it or because I lost 20 lbs either way it was definitely worth sticking to it!
-
You should invest in a HRM for the most accurate numbers. G'luck.

The new barefoot craze was not meant for everyone. My best friend fell into the new fad and now has to see a chiropractor twice a week to repair the damage done by not wearing supportive footwear. Not saying you should give it up but don't be surprised if you fall into that category. Yes, barefoot shoes are more 'natural'…

^^^ needs to lighten up. This topic is awesome. My 'r' key on my laptop doesn't work and I have to use the on-screen keyboard on this laptop to type 'r'. Maybe people have a sticky 'o' key!!! LOL Either way, I make the effort to use my 'r', maybe I'm burning an extra calorie with my efforts. Woot!

I add 'breastfeeding' to my exercise diary as 300 cal. burned since I am breastfeeding an older (14 months) infant.

I would start with the 3s and when those weights start to get easier, move on to the 5s. I personally started with 30 days of 3s, went to 30 days of 5s and can now do it with 8s.

When I did the 30DS I always followed it up with an hour of cardio...jogging or biking BUT! I was looking to lose a lot of weight then and I did! I would say you should try sticking to the 30DS and if you feel like doing more than do more! Start with a half hour of cardio and see how you feel. Good Luck

I also love a good breakfast...when I absolutely NEED to have a real filling breakfast...I do french toast. 2 pieces of Sara Lee 45 cal multi grain bread 3 large eggs, little bit of milk, cinnamon and nutmeg and I make sure to use up all the mixture on both pieces of bread and they get pretty big I don't use butter but I…

Good question. I always wonder the same because I don't get sore anymore either...even when I push the limits and up the weights and intensity. It was explained to me that if you do your exercise with proper form and do a good warm up and cool down, that you won't get sore. I sometimes worry that I'm not doing enough. Will…

Best thing to do is find the restaurant's website and find the nutritional facts for their menus. I love doing that before heading out so I know my best options. You would be surprised by the things you will be able to eat! (and not eat lol)

Although, extremely helpful :) OP is looking for low in sugar NOT sodium.

I am 5'5 170lbs goal weight is 145 and I wear a size 10 in Gap jeans I stopped worrying about the size of the clothing I am wearing and started worrying more about just feeling good in my skin. I think this all depends on our bone structure too. You cant shrink your bones but trust me, if I could, I WOULD! Size 6 would be…

I have family that insists on take out and delivery on the weekends when we all get together. My husband loves coming home to a cooked meal everyday. When I first started my lifestyle change, I told myself that this is for ME! and if the people I love aren't on board with my new lifestyle than I was going to have to start…

Jillian Michaels whey protein powder is $10 for a tub at Walmart. 100 cal. 15 protein. 3 fiber. Comes in 2 flavors. It's not terrible but it's not exactly delicious either. It's one of the lowest calorie options I could find. I sometimes double the mixture and grab a light salad and makes a perfect low cal but very filling…

I don't have a recipe for you but that is one of my favorite yogurt flavors that Yoplait has out right now. lol G'luck with your recipe search!

I weigh in every 2 weeks but I do step on the scale in between to keep myself in check. During my entire journey, I've never relied on the number on the scale. I've lost more inches than I have in lbs and that for me is bigger motivation. Being able to lose clothing sizes is so much more fun than obsessing over lbs.
