Brilliant advice - I always add a banana to my plan porridge in the mornings. This keeps me going all morning and tastes wonderful :)

Im so glad to hear that you are feeling so much better :-) If its any help, I find restaurant chain groups are now becoming a lot better about serving gluten free food. But I would maybe call ahead or plan a backup meal from their menu just in-case that can be easily changed to be gluten free.

Just so you know, the Fitbit Charge isnt waterproof but the Fitbit Flex is :-) I hope that helps.

Same here! First Friday tonight without my usual glass of wine - must say that im loving not drinking. I had no idea how ill it was making me feel. So nice to wake up without a hangover !!! Im now drinking diet coke "as a treat" lol instead of alcohol as I always think of coke as being a "naughty" drink :-P

I love my Fitbit Charge - already its making me walk miles more than I did before and it talks to My Fitness Pal, so you can keep track of your calories easily.

I live in the Uk and I choose to not eat gluten as it makes me feel terrible. Headaches (migraines), bloating, stabbing stomach pain, diarrhea, skin rashes and I feel lethargic . I've been tested for celiacs disease twice (blood test) and both times have been found negative. My doctor now thinks I might just be very…

I've set a challenge to only weigh myself every two weeks. This seems to be the time range that I see true results and it stops me obsessing about my weight. I'm in this to get fit and eat healthy rather than be skinny - saying this I do need to lose a stone ! good luck everyone !

Agree 100% with this  - I want to be healthy and strong, not hungry and ruled by the scales

Count me in, I'm doing dry January as from yesterday

Thank you. I think I must had been setting my calorie aim too low as when I do the above the goal increases to 1,500. This seems a much more realistic number. :-)

Becks blue is a good substitute also, really tastes like the real thing and is half the calories of a normal beer - also no hangover

Just out of interest what should I set the my goal as ? Because Fitbit says to lose 1 pound a week, I should be starting at 1,433 which is right based on bmr calculations but MFP keeps setting it to 12,000. Since changing the activity settings, at least its now adding exercise from FitBit. Fitbit says ive burnt 1443…

159.6ib .... im now officially overweight for the first time in my life. On my wedding day, 4 years ago I weighed 133Ibs and never really ever dieted or exercised - i'm not sure what has gone wrong...but there has been a hell a lot of personal stress since that day (I had two miscarriages and now i'm in the middle of a…

To make me a healthier, happy person all round really. I hate feeling sluggish and overweight. I love having a tight tummy, relaxed and also being so tired from exercising that I have a proper nights sleep . It would be nice to be able to show my ex-husband how well i'm doing without him but to be honest, I don't actually…

This is great advice, im having the same problem as the OP - thanks!

I'm so glad I found this forum, I'm 5'6 and exercise regularly by walking. I've been feeling terrible trying to stick to just 1400 calories a day. I'm so confused with all the advice - I was told told to calc my TDEE and take away 500. It's just not enough, in the afternoon I start to slow down and feel really tired and…

INDIAN TAKEAWAY Worst choice: Chicken korma and pilau rice 1,100 calories, 60g fat An average portion of an Indian takeaway contains 3.2g more saturated fat than a woman should eat in a whole day, according to Which? With its generous content of cream and coconut you can expect a chicken korma to beat even this high level…

When people refer to normal (ie not diet) coke as "full fat" ... its fat free but high in sugar!

That's if you general exercise twice and run three times a week but have a sedentary job.I also still want to lose a stone, so it's deducted so calories to account for that. Probably because of this, it seems lower. :-)

Just wanted to say thanks for the link again, its exactly what I have been looking for and I have been under eating! No wonder I feel so hungry after exercising! My TDEE should be about 1836 !
-
Thanks for the link, I will check it out :-)

Hi, Thank you for your replies, I set my TDEE to lightly activate as I have a desk job during the day, but I think I will re-calculate to maybe the next level up. I'm slightly nervous of food and gaining back weight, so I try to under estimate but nowadays I want to reward my body with healthy foods after a work-out.…
