If you want to get rid of coffee, find a tea that you like. A black tea will probably appeal more to your taste than a green tea. Tazo has a good line of teas and their Awake (Black) and Earl Grey are pretty good.

I count them to an extent. I don't add in a leaf of lettuce on my hamburger but I'll add some if I'm eating a salad.

great job

Just use this calculator. It lets you adjust them if you want or go with their standard values. http://iifym.com/iifym-calculator/

I've experienced all of those as well. What I never understood is how am I offending someone if I don't order something? Sometimes I'm not hungry, so why should I pay money for food that I'm not going to eat?

I weigh daily and sometimes it can be frustrating. What I do to stop worrying about it is to look at my last month of losses and how my weight is constantly moving down over a longer time frame than 2 days. BTW, mine goes in cycles every 1-1.5 wks I'll gain 1-2lbs overnight in water weight. Usually it's gone a day or two…

It's a personal choice. MFP will often overestimate your calorie burns so most will say "yes, but only 50-75% of them". Personally, I try not to eat into my exercise calories.

This is my personal opinion and probably differs from a lot of people. With that said, I don't think that they are as accurate as everyone wishes they should be and they only track certain movements. I would't rely on one to determine accurate calorie burns. IMO, they aren't much more than an overpriced pedometer. The…

Machines will often be about 50% over the actual burn. Not sure how to calculate the elliptical machines but there are calculators that can calculate calorie burns for most exercises. I found that my treadmill is accurate at certain speeds but horribly off target most of the time.

Congratulations on your weight loss!

Everyday, I want to see the fluctuations and not freak out one day a week if the scale shows that I had a gain.

I had a similar issue when MFP put me at 1500 calories. I was tired and could barely make it through the day, let alone workout. Once I bumped my calories up, I felt 100% better and haven't looked back.

Benj, based upon what data you have given us your TDEE should be around 2692. That is exercising 5 times a week. If you want to go aggressive, your calorie input should be 2150. That's TDEE-20%. Is this close to what MFP is suggesting? If so, then cut back and don't eat back the calories that MFP gives you for your…

Eat less and move more. The more you move the better you will feel. Sometimes you just have to get up and get moving no matter how tired you feel.

Personally my go to dressing is Ken's Raspberry Walnut Vinaigrette

I'm not sure where you're located so I'm not sure how much this will help but I hated plain Greek Yogurt. My wife asked me to try the ones with fruit in the bottom. Chobani has several flavors that I like (strawberry, blueberry and black cherry). I add some granola in with it and it gives it a nice crunch to add to it as…

You can change the columns of food diary to list other things than sugar. It's listed in the Settings for the Food Diary.

Some people will swear by them, others won't. If it helps you track your movements and helps you move more then great. Personally, I am not tracking my exercise close enough to worry about it because I'm not eating back my exercise calories. As for which is the best, I would look for features that you want. If you are…

I typically don't weigh out greens. I might if I'm having a large portion but if it's a couple of tablespoons worth then I don't bother. I'm including lettuce, green beans, collard greens, carrots, tomatoes, bell peppers...etc.

It's possible to lose 2lbs/wk even if you are close to your goal. I'm within 20lbs of my goal and I have been losing an average of 2lbs+/wk. I set my calorie goals 800 under maintenance and add 30-60 minutes of cardio and/or strength training to it. I don't eat back my calories and keep about a 1000-1200 calorie deficit.…

Offtopic: I always thought that an elliptical was closer to cross-country skiing than anything else.

Be patient, you may not lose every week, especially if you are only weighing yourself weekly. Your weight can vary daily by +/- several pounds. Things that affect your weight are water, sodium, potassium, TOM, stress....etc. Personally, I weigh daily. Some days I gain, others I lose. I log them all. You can start to see…

If it's the caffeine that's causing you to reach for it then try diet soda or Mio. Either way it will be a zero calorie fix for the caffeine. Then you can start to cut back on the alternatives when you feel the need to.

I work out at home and you would think that the rush would be over by now. I keep asking them to leave but no one will :( It's upsetting... ;)

TDEE takes into account of exercise already. So if you don't exercise then you need to lower your calories. MFP calculates your calorie limits based upon Zero exercise so that's why it tells you that you can eat more calories.
