  • HEY GUESS WHAT!! I won an ebay auction for a turbo fire set! The amazing/ironic thing? The only thing missing from the set (why I got it so cheap- $40 AFTER shipping!!) is the Fire 45 dvd and the calendar. THE FIRE 45 DVD! That's the one I got off ebay for $10 and have been so obessed with for the last few weeks! I'm so…
  • http://www.workout-calendar.com/turbo-fire-workout-calendar/ I bet this is the calendar thing that's missing, right?
  • I've been doing turbo jam and michelle dozios (similar ideas of exercise. cardio kick boxing with dance-y stuff mixed in) and I LOOVEEE it. I've never fully committed myself to one program... I'm ebaying for a used set of turbo fire dvds right now! It's meant to be.... I got the fire 45 dvd a few weeks ago for $10 on ebay…
  • nice! I've only got one turbo fire dvd (the fire 45) but have been ebaying for a used full set. For the last two weeks I've been exercising 5 days a week doing turbo fire/turbo jam/ michelle dozios an hour a day. Start weight 153.5 Current weight 151.5 I'm eating 1800-1900 a day and I'm 5'2" with an active job. I'm hoping…
  • HEY! REPLIES!! LOL. Glad to have the opnions!!! I'm still deciding whether to get any of the HIIT dvds. I actually enjoy a longer workout. Looks like I'll need to check out the EZ 45! I saw that one on ebay a few times. People are finally getting smart on there and selling the dvds individually to make more money! I've…
  • Ooo that depends on the TYPE of exercise you enjoy. Personally I'm a cardio kick boing type of freak- I've got tons of different versions of that; a few from Michelle Dozios, a few from Billy Blanks, a few from Chalene Johnson (turbo jam/ turbo fire). Maybe try some youtube videos and figure out what you enjoy? Some people…
  • the cold air doesn't bother my breathing but it definitely affects my face/fingers and legs. I don't enjoy running when it's below 40 degrees Fahrenheit so I just simply don't do it more than once a week and only a few miles (just to keep my stamina up a little more than if I stopped all together). Lots of people continue…
  • I don't know what the pounds conversion of stones is... but I'm shorter, 5'2" and 150ish pounds right now and mine are 38-30-40. People are always like "no way! You don't look 150lbs!" when I tell them my weight, never been called a "liar" though!
  • Ditto on this idea- you have to find something you enjoy doing and change up your workouts. Anything will get bored if you do it long enough. I go through cycles of running constantly, to not running at all, I LOVE cardio kick boxing type aerobics dvds so I've got a half dozen of those and a number of other dvds. Do you…
  • Hello! I just joined this group recently too. Doesn't seem too active :o( sad!
  • I agree. Nuts are totally boring. I have to have mixes to keep it interesting enough for me. Here's my favorite: http://www.walmart.com/ip/10801070?adid=22222222227010342374&wmlspartner=wlpa&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=&wl3=18143851870&wl4=&wl5=pla&veh=sem expensive to buy that brand though, easy to make the same mix yourself!
  • Ditto! Maybe try a turbo jam dvd? Like ^^ said, it's slower and is an EXCELLENT intro to turbo fire because it has a lot of the same moves!! I <3 my turbo jam dvds. Not as high of a burn/ intense of a workout but they're just a blast to do! It made the transition easy though having already mastered those.
  • Those sound like doable goals, good luck! (don't do TOO much cardio though. Turbo fire and running all in one day sounds like a lot!) P.S. I LOVE YOUR MOTIVATION! LOL. That's an awesome idea!
  • WOW! Big difference around your mid section! Nice dedication!
  • WOOHOO! That's awesome!!
  • Another vote for Couch to 5k! It really does work when you stick to the plan and be consistent with it! I did it back in March 2012 and went from someone that kinda hated running and got out of breath instantly to someone that can run regularly now- still not a distance runner and don't really want to be- but I enjoy…
  • I wear a BMF too, personally I don't do the "3500 cals a week = 1 pound lost" rule because my body never follows that rule when I do it. I took an average of my burns from the bmf and took away a 20-25% deficit. I jsut started this last week, but i DID have a little scale whoosh today so I'm going to take that as a good…
  • Ditto! Great isn't it? It's so nice when ladies finally see the light a realize eating 1200 cals is not healthy or sustainable! Your body needs fuel to lose that fat!
  • dtto! When you raise your calories I vote for NOT eating exercise calories back- just set your diary manually to a stagnant amount. Calculate your TDEE- if you're doing a reset, set your diary to that amount (2000 for example). This will build your exercise calories into the week- meaning you'll be "eating them back" over…
  • ^^ not eating enough!! Eat a few hundred calories a day more and your body will thank you!
  • sounds like we're about at the same place! I'm also 5'2". I've been maintianing for most of the last year eating anywhere from 2200 to 2600 cals a day (and therefore fixed my metabolism, yay!) but I'm ready to start losing again. To start (as of last week) I'm trying a goal of 1800-1900 a day and will give that 6 weeks,…
  • BAHAHAHAHAHA! LOVE!
  • Yeah I've always been told the same- your body takes like 4-6 weeks to adjust to any change in diet or exercise routine, so be consistent with the calorie amount and types of exercise for a 6 week period, then you can assess whether your calorie amount is working or not.
  • I always workut at home or go running- I hate gyms. I agree with figuring out what types of workout dvds you like the most and then getting a good variety. I've got a good dozen workout dvds to choose from so that I don't get bored. I like cardio kickboxing dvds, jillian michaels, michele dozois, turbo jam/fire. You just…
  • When running I breathe for 3-4 footfalls in, 3-4 footfalls out. I read it in one of the fitness or running magazines- works great! Keeps the breathing at a nice even pace. Oh yea- what heybales said too; yoga type breathing is excellent.
  • Seriuosly? Some of you ladies are eating way too little. I'm 5'2" and my weight ranges between 150-154 and have been maintaining my weight since early last year on anywhere between 2000 (no workout, sedentary weekend day) to 2400-2800 on workdays (Medical Assistant at a busy clinic, lots of walking) depending on whether I…
  • recently I've been a big fan of adding a container of greek yogurt to canned soup. It makes it super creamy and yummy without altering the flavor a ton, and adds a bunch of protein! My favorite for adding is fage 2%! (doesn't hurt that this is the EASIEST MEAL EVER!) I used to add cheese to up the creaminess, but the…
  • i <3 instagram. thanks!
  • wow. I can't believe this topic is still going! BTW my opinion IS SO 180 DEGREES DIFFERENT than it was back on the second page of this when I posted over a year ago, I regularly maintain on 2200-2600 cals a day. Which means when I was losing I was eating 1800-2000. Eating 1200 a day is unnecessary and harmful in the…
