As long as you aren't hurting yourself or injured, I don't see why you would have to have a rest day from cardio. If you like 7 days a week, I'd continue with that.

I believe the scale ones use a small electrical pulse through your body to measure. You can't feel it though. The measurement Itself is not terribly accurate, but I use mine as a way to see progress. I think everyone is different, but I plateaued a bit around 25 or so pounds. My plateau just made me work harder now, and I'm back to losing.
