They are gross and unfilling. Can you lose weight eating them? Yes. I know a few people who have. But losing weight eating delicious and nutritious food is so much more satisfying.

I do not. No issues. As a matter fact I had never even heard of that idea until I started using MFP to keep track of carbs, fat and protein. I'm healthy as an oxe.

I eat about 1400 or so but I work out 5-6 days a week I don't eat my calories back so net is lower. I'm 6'1 and on most days about 204 lbs :)

900 seems very low and I think after a few weeks you might just binge cus it's such a low amount. There are many people who are going to tell you to eat more. Some will tell you they eat 1200 and are doing great. If you truly want to stay at 1200 and be full and want to stick with it I suggest having more protein rich foods and having more water. Foods high in fiber also keep you fuller longer.. I don't know my BMR my TDEE or what other acronym that is being tossed around. I may not be the right person to give you advice but all I can say all those equations are not needed. Eat healthy work out. That's simple math you and anyone can do.

I still do both but I've been seeing better results sticking to mostly strength training. Also you lose less lean body mass weight lifting. I know that statement sounds off but studies do point towards that conclusion. But that's just my advice. .

First of all welcome. You will get tons of advice. If I had to do it all over again I would have started doing weight lifting instead of cardio. Many studies show you burn more fat that way. Cardio is great don't get me wrong but weight lifting really burns the fat quicker.

Metabolic damage is reversible starvation mode is fantasy. You can also screw up your metabolism by eating to much. We call that Gluttony mode .
