I did the elliptical for one hour before I went to work this morning. That always sets the tone for a great day It energizes me and helps me stay on track with my food choices.

I lost 35 pounds last year counting calories, walking and doing the elliptical. Walking is my preferred exercise, but the elliptical is so handy when the weather is bad or walking doesn't fit into my schedule for whatever reason.

There are lots of great ideas here. My advice to you, from a mom with three kids, one of whom TRIED to be a picky eater. DO NOT GIVE UP or GIVE IN! Keep reintroducing rejected foods after short periods of time. Require one bite of each dish served at a meal (with reasonable exceptions--we all hate some foods, and there…

My family loves it with baked potato toppings.

I had a similar message with my Garmin. Just turning the bluetooth off and back on again did the trick. I hope your solution is simple, as well!

Over-restriction is the biggest culprit for me, as well. I will get on a really successful losing streak, and that always tempts me to cut my calories even more so I can see bigger, faster results. I have to fight that urge so hard and just stay on the slow and steady path. I've also been able to identify a couple of key…

My family just likes it on a piece of flatbread or naan. Sometimes we sprinkle with some lemon zest or cinnamon. Sometimes we just eat it plain. I also dollop it on homemade pizza.

It's a family tradition (homemade), and I love it. I recently shared my dirty secret with my mom that before I flip the cake over on the plate, I peel off the brown crunchy layer on the bottom and devour it, as it's my favorite part. She confessed to me that she does the same thing! It was a fun mother/daughter moment.

I know this doesn't directly answer your question, but just wanted to throw it out there. We have been conditioned to believe that we need to snack when we go to the movies. I decided to retrain my brain. I don't eat at home when I'm watching TV/movies, why do I think I need to do it at the movie theater? I just retrained…

Sweet potatoes. I always hated them because they were too sweet (every way I'd ever been offered them was with marshmallows, brown sugar, etc. added). Recently discovered that when they're prepared any way involving Mexican spices/toppings, I love them. The spicy balances the sweet and is just delicious!

When eating out, I almost always order an appetizer as my entree. I've noticed quite a few others doing this, as well. So I don't really feel awkward about it. My favorite choice is a caprese salad app.

It doesn't really matter to me either way, although it does make me a little uncomfortable sometimes. But I would give just about anything for my mom to say something. I've lost 35 pounds and still waiting... She's not the mean or vindictive type. I just think she hasn't noticed for whatever reason.

I've hated beets ALL my life (and I've been on this earth for a LONG time)...sheer unadulterated HATRED for them, until I blasted away a ton of weight. I started getting out of my box of what I don't like or won't eat and tried beets a couple of months ago or so and MAN!What I've been missing all my life. Beets are…

Originally, it was Airpods. But I found I really needed them at the gym, so I've already bought them. Now I plan to buy the sexiest pair of white skinny jeans I can find. And I'm wearing them to work on my 50th birthday (even though jeans are only allowed on Fridays). And I'm going to wear my shirt tucked in!

And this is why I get so confused when people complain about how much more expensive it is to eat healthy. What? I eat so much less food now. My grocery bill has gone down tremendously.

I use the falafel mix from Trader Joe's and bake them in the oven instead of frying them. Then I dip them in the TJ's spinach/kale Greek yogurt dip. Easy, tasty and great calorie count. They freeze well, too.

@RelCanonical could you share some of your tips for dealing with your binge eating urges?

Quest bars are my favorite, easy choice. I bought many different flavored bars from the grocery store and found my favorites, then I started ordering them by the box on Amazon Subscribe and Save. I eat one just about every day, and I always keep one in my purse for "emergencies".

My rock bottom was when I stepped on the scale on my birthday, and I weighed 202 pounds. I’ve never been over 200 pounds in my life, and I sat down on my bed. And I cried. On my birthday. In that excruciating moment, I decided that my birthday gift to myself was going to be the gift of good health. So far, I’m down 26…

My recent surprise was actually a good one. I've been eating guacamole on a piece of mini Naan almost daily for weeks. A few days ago, I just happened to notice that the serving size I've been logging all this time has been for two pieces, when I only eat one. I'm not going to pat myself on the back, though. Hopefully this…

Do you wear earbuds/headphones? I always wear mine, even if they're not turned on, so people won't try to interact with me.

I've lost 26 pounds over this past school year (I'm a teacher) and no one has seemed to notice since I lost it so gradually. I want to lose 9 more pounds before school starts again in August and then it will hopefully be noticeable!

I crumbled a Trader Joe's Thai sweet chili veggie burger on top of a serving of TJ's vegetable fried rice. Then I bulked the whole thing up with edamame, mushrooms and red bell pepper and a little soy sauce. So satisfying and nourishing!

I clicked the 'Hug' button for you, but why isn't there a 'What a B-kitten' button?!

I usually go right after work and I am hungry. There's a Starbuck's in my store, and I always budget my calories for a nonfat latte. I really enjoy sipping it as I shop, it stops my hunger pangs so I can wait for dinner when I get home, and it helps me meet my protein goal for the day. Win, win, win!

I enjoy lots of McD's cones during the summer for this very reason. It's a treat that is so easy to work into my daily calorie goal, and since I have to drive there to get it, there are no additional servings in the freezer tempting me. I once took my food scale and tried to weigh it in my car before eating, and it was a…

I let mine sit out on the counter for a few minutes to cool down, then keep it refrigerated. It gets a bitter taste if it's left out. I also drink a pitcher of iced tea per day, so I don't have the issue of keeping it for several days.

Try it on a piece of naan sometime. Game changer for me.
