i agree & very filling.

i had good results with pcos with atkins/southbeach type diets. it helped w the extra weight & acne and i've had no trouble getting pregnant 4x . believing you will have healing too!

in the fall i love pumpkin pie oatmeal (pumpkin pie spices+ pumpkin) and cinnamon apple (i microwave a bunch of diced apple so it's really soft then throw it in w/ the oatmeal in the morning). gives you lots of bulk to fill you up.

cottage cheese, greek yogurt, edamame. beef jerky, pouch salmon/tuna. not sure of exact carb counts though but these have been helping me w protein

typically, i 1. get whatever i want to eat (veg or lean protein or whatever) 2. focus on conversation and usually no one notices or cares 3. if they do, i say with a smile, 'oh, no thanks. i'm good' and ask them a question about themselves to change the subject. 4. repeat 3 as much as needed

Hopefully you will see this despite being so long after your orig question. you are prob about 26 weeks now so still an entire trimester to go. i'm 28 weeks and have gained much less w this baby but my baby's weight via ultrasound is good and i 've had a healthy pregnancy. the most helpful things have been for me: 1.…

I lost some while nursing but there were prob 10 extra lbs each time that stuck like glue. after weaning i did find it much easier to lose that weight. i do not remember how long it took though, just that some seemed to disappear on it's own. i'd guess if you're eating at a deficit and exercising maybe a couple months if…

Doctors do that all the time. They usually have no idea of actual calorie numbers. I've been to 4 or 5 doctors with that question and I get "eat salads not cheeseburgers." We have to just do the research ourselves. What is stated in many replies above is correct: eat at maintenance (maybe 2000) first trimester. + 300…

i almost add baby spinach, a whole blenderful. i can't taste it. my faves: almond or soy milk, frozen banana (i buy lots then peel and freeze in ziplocs when they get brown spots- this is the secret ingredient for making itcreamy & sweet) , cocoa powder, spinach. another: tablespoon of oj concentrate, water, frozen fruit…

i agree. oatmeal has magical pooping powers. all my pregnant constipated friends and i agree on that. also chia seeds help draw water into the digestive tract. i eat them in smoothies or oatmeal.

i find my skin does better on low carb. when i limit processed sugars and orher grain even if eating some fruit it is better. also, dairy. i found through trial & error dairy causes breakouts for me. i cut it out mostly but sure enough after ice cream one night or butter or sourcream, i breakout. try eliminating dairy for…

this is my 4th pregnancy. this time i'm tracking food in mfp and it's going much better. i eat better. more protein, veg & fruits since the calories count. fewer sweets & empty carbs. i feel much better too. less back pain bc less weight gained. my calorie goal is maintenance + 300 cals. i am not wxercising as much this…

similar to a diabetic or low GI diet. i was just looking at a magazine the library had today called diabetic living and it had great recipes, most lower carb. south beach diet books have good ideas too
-
yep. mine can go up a couple of pounds after several days of intense exercise

switch your porridge to egg whites. switch couscous to low-carb veggies like steamed broccoli or a salad. for the next few weeks cut almost all grains, do most lean proteins & veg. no sugars except fruit for dessert. report back. :)

- working on one habit at a time ex. healthy breakfasts, eating a fruit for a snack, etc - make it as simple as possible, buy prewashed, precut produce, (prepeeled garlic is my new discovery), etc. - read fitness, shape magazines from the library for new meal ideas - eat veggies. your tastebuds adapt to what you eat. choke…

You can do 10-20 minutes of body weight exercises at home in the mornings, like squats, pushups, planks, etc. Jillian Michaels does of a lot of these types. Not sure how much weight you want to lose. Anyway, just doing those things at home works for me because you don't need to go to a gym. Shape magazine also has lots of…

I have to eat gluten free so I have to plan things for vacations as well. Here are some things I do: - pack some food that can be made w/ hot water from the coffee pot in the hotel room or eaten in the car ex. individual packets of plain oatmeal, granola bars, almonds, beef jerky (for protein) - stop by a grocery store…

Oh yes, the money! I forgot that aspect. My sister estimated she's saving $200 a month now that she quit. I didn't estimate mine, but I'd guess I spent at least $3/day, so that would be about $90 at least.

I drank cans per day for years. Plus 32 oz drinks, several per day. So did my sister. Her bones have issues and she has horrible teeth. It does leech the calcium out of teeth and bones. It is highly addictive. My body actually will itch now when I drink it. (I really really hoped I wasn't allergic to something in it,…

I'm in for, let's say, 50 miles.

Coming up with a plan and sticking pretty much to it. Not eating to make other people happy. Exercising today.

frozen bananas are the secret! When your bananas start getting brown spots, peel them, break them into a few big chunks, put in a Ziploc bag, then freeze. To make a smoothie, I like: - coconut water or water for a base (you could use juice to make it sweeter) - frozen banana chunks, the more you use, the sweeter it will be…

great idea. I have a rosemary tree trying out right now so I'm looking for ways to use rosemary. Thanks!

I'm planning to make a healthy version of an Italian sausage soup with potatoes, white beans, and kale. It's creamy and yummy, even without cream. I think Olive Garden has a soup like it. We'll eat that before church on Christmas Eve. It's sort of lighter to make room for everyone's snacking later in the evening. Hopefully…

I agree about diet. I remember one time I ran 10 miles, then realized I had just eaten that 1000 calories back with ONE pumpkin muffin and ONE latte from Panera. Ouch! So far, I have to say MFP is really helping me. Logging calories every day I realize how much that darned eggnog adds up! I can eat either a big bowl of…

I have no idea on your questions, I just wanted to say I bet you would love ice skating as well. seriously hard work-out, core, legs, arms. It's like a combination of dancing, running and flying. It's so hard that after 2 hours of skating I feel like I ran 10 miles. I have seen a difference in my thighs because with…

I liked it, but when I did it once a day for a month last summer I lost 1 lb. I could see a bit of difference in my arms and waist, but not as much as I was hoping. My advice: 20 minutes is just not long enough, sorry Jillian. I'd say do 40-60 minutes AND really, really closely watch your diet. I don't want to be…
