well done!! brilliant progress - really inspirational.

As soon as I stop weighing, I put weight on. I need the discipline I think.

I'm on 1200 cals. It's not difficult and I lose (at most) 0.5lb per week. Not hungry, not unhappy, just fine thanks. All I needed to do was cut out the booze and the rest comes naturally.

you look fantastic, well done!

Not yet a success story, but I'm a shorty and hope to see some here!!

^^This. Granola made me fat!!! Admittedly, it was all I was eating for several months whilst I was unwell and stuck in the house, but seriously, breakfast cereal is a beast.

double whammy! brilliant! you've all completely cheered me up :D
-
Thank you all for your encouragement

I hear you - I've dried the tears now and will just keep on going with it. Sorry it happened to you x

That's so funny - I'm not that quick thinking but I'll try and memorise it :)
-
What a thing to say!!!! I'm not surprised you were upset. Some people!

I found 1200 tough for the first couple of weeks - maybe even the first month. I started to make tiny changes each week - stopped taking milk in my coffee one week (except my 2 morning ones!), then the week after that I decided to reduce the amount of alcohol I was drinking (my husband and I used to share a bottle maybe 3…

You look fantastic, and you can see such a dramatic change! Good luck with the rest of your journey and well done, you are an inspiration.

Wrong. You've assumed I don't use other forums.

Yep, seems to be what people are on here for. If you want good advice and a forum where people respect each other, this isn't it :(

OMG this! i am on a diet because of granola! I had no idea and was practically living off it when I was unwell, and wondered why I got fat. Bloody granola!

Fake tan should do it, you won't lose anything but you'll look like you did.

personally, i think judging a person's body weight is pretty grim yet here is a forum where you're all picking over what you like to look at 'too skinny, too bony, not enough muscle'. , when probably half of us are paranoid as hell about how we look. bad form. edited to say this isn't aimed specifically at the OP, but at…

that's so true. i started out not really changing my diet, just eating less to try and stick to it. didn't work, so i have now given up booze, taken the milk out of my coffee and upped the chicken and vegetables etc. and suddenly i've got loads of spare calories to play with!!

Just under 5'0 and currently around 132. Looking to lose 20 to 28lbs depending on how it goes and how I feel when I start losing. Been doing this around 6 weeks, lost 3lb, gained 2lb back for Christmas, so only one measly pound lost so far!!

ain't that the truth! i always think a stone looks like 2 stone on me because i'm so short.

:( to this

i have to concede that i haven't seen the other posts, and you may well be 100% right, but my response to that would be to suggest not to respond to it, or to read it if it bothers you. i can't sit by and see an adult rounding on a teenage girl though, not without saying something. i am not the mother of anybody, so i'm…

do you remember what it is like to be young? i do, my life was full of teenage dramas when i was a teenager. that's what happens. i'm 40, but i remember. don't pick on her because she is young and living what sounds to me like a normal teenage life. and yes, changing boyfriends (and mind) frequently comes with the teenage…

Ha ha I bet it was super awkward! When I first got with my other half, I was shocked to see he turned into a manchild whenever in the company of his (very nice) mother. I got him told, in no uncertain terms, that I was after a man, not a mummy's boy. It stopped, and 10 years later it hasn't happened again. I remain…

Yes! Agreed
-
That's pretty patronising - why is it not? I've seen others asking life questions. I get the impression she's getting slagged of for being young, and that's really not OK.

A history of asking for advice that is seen as 'off topic' or something else? It just seems like there's always an attacker lurking in these forums.

I've just been reading some really heartwarming posts for a lady who was upset by strangers when out for a walk, and thinking what wonderful people there are on this forum. Then I read this :-(
