My question about sugar alcohols is how will they affect my weight loss? Many things I looked at while at the store today had 0 sugars but most of them had sugar alcohols. I know this is something used in sugar-free foods, but I don't want to eat them if the sugar alcohols will slow my weight loss results.

I think everyone's different. I know people who have to eat a little something in the morning before a race and then there are people like me who have to run on an empty stomach. If I have something to eat beforehand, I just do not do well.

Can't really say from experience becuase I'm not on any BC, but I did just talk to a friend yesterday who has the Mirena IUD and she has gained so much weight with it. What is worse is she has not been able to lose the weight. I had not seen her in a while and I was surprised how much she had gained because she has always…

I have found that if I use extra calories for the "wrong" stuff, my weight actually goes up. :( I did it a few weeks ago with a huge helping of meatloaf for dinner which had TONS of sodium. The sodium made me swell up and feel awful even the next morning. Not to mention my weight jumped up due to the water retention. So I…

Yes, it's the same for me. The short moment you spend eating the food is so fleeting. It comes and goes so quickly. But the effects of it DO NOT go quickly! :( That's what keeps me on track. But I do have my moments when it's just really really hard to look the other way. I am human!

Yes. I have been taking it nearly a week now and I have really noticed a difference in the way my knees feel. I am running 7 days a week and my knees feel great. The pills are huge, but that's the only downside to this supplement that I have seen.

I absolutely LOVE the Weight & Inches meal replacement protein supplement shakes! I have both the chocolate and vanilla. They are awesome! Google it. I use water in mine most of the time just to keep my sugar in check. But I have also made it with Vanilla light soymilk. I also love the Caramel Crunch Protein bars (15g) and…

I second this. Since I joined MFP I have really become aware of how much sugar (and salt) is in so many things!! Practically anything you pick up in the grocery store has a ridiculous amount of both! It is pretty difficult for me to find convenient meals that aren't full of this stuff! I have no problems staying under my…

I am glad after reading this thread that I ordered a HRM. I am definitely going to ignore the machine and just rely solely on the HRM.
-
Thanks for the input guys. I have actually ordered a HRM which should be here sometime early next week. I will start going by what it says. I'm glad that I haven't been eating ALL my exercise calories back now!

I looove GoLean cereal. Lots of protein and fiber in it! I have been eating it just about every day for breakfast. I use the Silk Light Soymilk with mine which is easier for me to digest than regular skim milk.

OMG this sounds sooooo good! However, I cannot have Nutella in the house anymore. I can't seem to stay out of it. UGH!! I can eat it alone by the spoonful. :(

I guess it just depends on your build. I am a runner and my thighs are of pretty normal porportion. At all the races I go to, most of the runners are always pretty slim through the leg area. As for thigh exercises, try walking lunges. I do these and I really feel the burn from it.

That is true. You must lose all the fat you can in that area before you can really see results from muscle toning exercises. What it boils down to is that the muscle (even though you may have toned it with exercises) is covered with a layer of fat. Gotta lose the fat first. I have the same problem, but I have not excuse as…

I was just talking about these on another thread. Cadbury Creme Eggs Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs Domino's pepperoni pizza Domino's cinnastix with icing for dipping Pillsbury chocolate chip cookie dough (yes, raw!) Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk (the kind you bake with) Spaghetti noodles with tons of butter and salt…

Had them before and I couldn't tell any difference whatsoever. But that's just me...
-
Oh my gosh, these two things are my weakness! I have been known to put away a whole package of those peanut butter eggs in a matter of minutes. The Cadbury eggs are also something I can eat one after the other...

An entire large Domino's pepperoni pizza and an order of their Cinnastix with the icing for dipping. OMG I would die for that right now...

I just bought the Garmin Forerunner 305. It hasn't arrived yet, but I will certainly give a review once I have used it. I saw several runners with this model on at my last 5K.

I talked to a trainer over the weekend about this. He told me that for my weight (146) and the amount of time I spend working out (I run 6 days a week amounting to about 20 miles total) that I need about 95 grams daily. He has a computer program that figures this. He asked my height, weight, workouts, age and found that I…

My husband started nights tonight. This is the first of 6 nights. He does 6 nights, off 2, then 6 days & off 2. We have been married 18 yrs (and he has always worked swing shift), but it hasn't been a problem. I do get terribly bored when he is working nights though. :(

Precisely. Same here.

Not a chance. Had a tubal about 6 yrs ago. :)

No extra ab or core work lately. I had an ultrasound 3 months ago and everything was ok. I do have mild endometriosis, but it has never caused me any problems with exercising.

An ENTIRE TUBE of Pillsbury chocolate chop cookie dough. It's been a rough day. :(

A friend sent this to me via email the other day, and I thought it was pretty interesting: A professor at CCNY for a physiological psych class told his class about bananas. He said the expression 'going bananas is from the effects of bananas on the brain. Read on: After reading this, you'll never look at a banana in the…
